Couldn't recommend this place enough! We had a small group of us that travelled up to Cape Trib for a weekend away. From the moment we got there to the moment we left, the staff were all so friendly and helpful. Beautiful part of the world, tucked away in the rainforest. Facilities were excellent, food and drinks were amazing, entertainment and things to do were aplenty. I even forgot an item up there which I needed urgently, and the team were super helpful in ensuring they got the item back down to me in Cairns ASAP! Will be definitely heading here again soon! Cheers guys!

"The hidden gem of Cape Tribulation you’ll wish you found sooner!" We stumbled into PK’s Jungle Village planning to stay just one night… and ended up staying three. Honestly, we didn’t want to leave. From the moment we arrived, the owner’s warmth and hospitality set the tone—this place just radiates good vibes. The whole village feels relaxed yet beautifully looked after. The facilities are spotless, the atmosphere is chilled, and the food? Absolutely delicious and affordable. The pool kept our kids happy all day long, while we enjoyed cold beers under perfect lighting that made the evenings feel magical. At just $40 a night, it’s hands-down the best value we’ve found anywhere on the east coast. Everything you need is right there: laundry for $6, a handy grocery store nearby, the beach and boardwalk just a short stroll away, and Mason’s swimming hole only 2km down the road. We genuinely don’t understand why this place wasn’t packed—it deserves to be. If you’re travelling as a family, or even just looking for a great spot to relax, PK’s is a must. Out of all the places we’ve camped, this one stands out by a mile. We’ll definitely be back.

Drove all the way from Cairns to have an enjoyable weekend and ended up back in Cairns the same night.|Firstly I checked in, got the key and went to the room only to find it is already occupied. ( I overheard all the cleaners resigned that day prior to our arrival) Nevertheless, got a new room and was greeted with a mouldy smell but opened the doors and windows as I thought it had been closed for a prolonged period. We then went to the bar to have a drink and dinner. My partner ordered a chicken parmi and my mouth was watering for the porterhouse steak. When the food was ready and I cut into the steak I immediately noticed it to be a dark red raw and naturally smelt it. It was so sour I left it. The chef came to me and asked what's wrong with the steak and I said it smells off and he smelt it and found nothing wrong with it and said they cut it that morning which might be true if it was laying in the sun for a few days in order for it to smell that putrid. I wasn't offered another steak or any replacement and we went back to the room. I then started reading the reviews about mould and bad food and I had to check for myself and I noticed the mould on the walls and as I pulled off the white pillow case I was shocked to see the yellow stained mould pillow. I packed up and spoke to the lovely bar lady ( I think she said her name is 'Ari') she was so polite and respectful and I acknowledge that she does not have anything to do with the experience I had. I handed over my key and I left.|I'll attach photos if possible.|Long story short. DO NOT RUIN YOUR GETAWAY HERE!!!!

The place feels very messy and unorganised. The communal kitchen was very dirty and the bathroom area very average. Seemed like there was a little party happening in the evening as well... Beside that, the reception could be more welcoming / friendly. Of course, the location is beautiful, but that's the area you come for. It feels like the whole place can use a refreshment / love and care 🙏

We didn’t stay at PK’s Jungle Village, but we dropped in for lunch at the pub/bar after a day of snorkelling and really enjoyed the experience. The place has a rustic charm with a laid-back Caribbean vibe – relaxed music playing, tropical surroundings, and a very chilled-out feel. The cold beers hit the spot perfectly, and the burgers and chips were just what we needed to refuel. It was a great way to unwind and round off the day. A solid spot for casual food and drinks in a unique setting.

Spent a night camping here but it was interesting to see the deterioration since our last visit six years ago. It is very tired in general run by disinterested backpackers. There are no cocktails, the drinks are overpriced, what happened to all the landscaping around the pool, poor water pressure, tripping hazards throughout, even the dance floor had cobwebs aplenty. PKs, please sound insulate your ample generator and invest some money into the place. It has potential. Visitors, stay elsewhere if you can.

Absolutely terrible. Staff were rude and useless, the food was rotten quite literally gave my daughter and myself food poisoning. The breakfast package was an absolute waste of money cost more to add it then what the meals were worth. Flip of a coin if your ac worked I cannot express how terrible it was. When we arrived the rooms weren't ready yet we arrived at 5:30 check in at 2. Could've have been such a beautiful spot but run by people who don't care about it or people only care about money in their pocket would never stay again.

PK’s Jungle Village is a must-stay spot, perfectly located where the rainforest meets the reef. They truly have something for everyone, from solo travellers, couples, and families, to campers, including convenient parking. Big shoutout to the manager Victor (a genuinely good person) and the amazing crew: Chris, Moe, Rene, and everyone I met there! They went above and beyond to make me feel right at home. The location is unbeatable, with walking access straight to the beach. The on-site bar is the perfect place to unwind after a day of exploring. Serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner – and the best steak in Queensland! Thank you for a lovely stay ☀️

Yelp
There were only two good things about that place: the staff was super friendly, always greeting you with a smile, and the chips, which were delicious. Other than that, my stay at PK's was a really bad experience. The rooms and sheets were filthy, the food was way too expensive for what it was actually worth, there was mold in my room, and they closed the bar before the announced hour (so you might have gotten there at 9 p.m. Expecting to get a drink, but the doors were already locked.). In conclusion, don't go there.
