We didn’t stay at PK’s Jungle Village, but we dropped in for lunch at the pub/bar after a day of snorkelling and really enjoyed the experience. The place has a rustic charm with a laid-back Caribbean vibe – relaxed music playing, tropical surroundings, and a very chilled-out feel. The cold beers hit the spot perfectly, and the burgers and chips were just what we needed to refuel. It was a great way to unwind and round off the day. A solid spot for casual food and drinks in a unique setting.

We enjoyed stay at because PK'sJungle village. It is conveniently located at Cape Tribulation and offers easy access to the beach. The budget rooms are very basic and very small and the amenities are okay, but not great. However if you are here for the scenery and the location, then this is a great place to stay.

The venue is good. Would be better is smokers were separated from people eating. The smoke wafts with the breeze. Great setting. The young chef was awesome. Whipped up an amazing garlic butter. The girl behind the bar was struggling. Could have been the language barrier or the loud doof doof remix music they were playing. Overall food and setting were great. If the music was more jungle vibes and lower volume it would have been a 5

It's a really lovely place for a rainforest getaway, not much to do without a car but super relaxing and we saw some crocodiles! However, PK's is marketed as a 'eco-village' and yet there are no signs of any attempt to be eco friendly. There are no utensils provided in the kitchen forcing you to buy single use; recycling is not an option; there are lots of laundry dryers but not much room on the line for air-drying. Also the pub is a weird vibe but good drinks and food.

I really loved being surrounded by nature — the location is truly amazing. I worked at PK’s Jungle as a casual staff member from May to July 2025. Unfortunately, I experienced serious issues during my time there. I was charged significantly more for accommodation than other workers. When I asked about this, management did not respond. Shortly after raising my concerns, I was dismissed without any explanation. They still haven't replied Answer so I will now report the unfair dismissal and other issues to Fair Work. I also witnessed several issues related to hygiene and cleanliness. • Guest mattresses and pillows had visible stains and mold (visible when pillowcases were removed) • There was no vacuum cleaner available when I started working • Rooms had heavy dust and cobwebs, and I was discouraged from cleaning due to “low revenue” • I also found moldy food stored in the staff kitchen I’m sharing this because I believe guests and workers deserve to know. If you’re visiting Cape Tribulation, I would recommend considering other accommodation options.

CHECK IN BEFORE 5pm or you will be refunded. I arrived in the evening to check into my double room and ended up having to sleep on the croc infested beach because they don’t accept entries after 5pm. Drinks are fairly cheap and pool tables are free but I highly disregard the hostel for messing with us like this. The staff were also really rude especially the indian looking dude. He was SO rude. Will not be giving this place my money because of HIM. ALSO after i made this review tbe guy threatened me on making more bad reviews. TERRIBLE service. The old dude was cute tho.

The stay didn’t meet expectations. The door lock was broken, the A/C couldn’t be adjusted, and the bathroom window lacked privacy from the outside. Only a thin blanket was provided, so consider bringing your own. I wouldn’t recommend this place in its current state.

Very poor service, short staff. No one at the reception to check you in for up to an hour. No food for half of the guests as they couldn’t keep up with the crowds during a long weekend holiday . One of the showers only had scolding hot water … positive points: dog friendly and the location- that’s it.definitely needs a new manager this place.

Yelp
There were only two good things about that place: the staff was super friendly, always greeting you with a smile, and the chips, which were delicious. Other than that, my stay at PK's was a really bad experience. The rooms and sheets were filthy, the food was way too expensive for what it was actually worth, there was mold in my room, and they closed the bar before the announced hour (so you might have gotten there at 9 p.m. Expecting to get a drink, but the doors were already locked.). In conclusion, don't go there.
