Google
Fantastic experience. Everything we ate was amazing. The basil hummus was delicious and the salad too! Service was lovely and fast. Very reasonably priced. Would recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Barcelona

Google
Nice, cozy restaurant with a quaint vibe. Some very tasty dishes like the potato bravas, eggplant, veal cheeks (super tender, beefy, and umami), bread with tomato, beet carpaccio, and chocolate mousse. No so delicious were the poached egg and octopus. We would definitely go again and I recommend.

Google
Great spot with delicious Spanish food. Excellent service, would return! The roasted eggplant was excellent. The octopus was perfectly tender and fresh. The chocolate mouse with olive oil was rich and delicious. Everything I ordered was great!

We spent New Years Eve here and had a great time. The menu was really tasty and every dish brought something to the table. Our favourite was the ravioli and the final meat dish. The wine we got went well together with everything else. The staff was friendly and the owner was really fun and entertaining, even though he missed the countdown for the new year by a couple of seconds :) I want to thank everyone here for making our New Years Eve a great one!

Google
The veal and tomato salad were great, as were the fried potatoes. Nice wait staff and atmosphere inside. It's a bit hard to find but worth the trip. Willing to bet this place will go from somewhat known to a travel guide staple. We found it via word of mouth.

Google
We decided on an earlier dinner at 8pm so the restaurant was not so busy. It was a relaxed comfortable atmosphere. The food was exquisite. The cod and squid were fresh. Both dishes came beautifully presented. The desserts were delightful. I will definitely be back.

Best tapas I had in Barcelona. The chef works hard and the staff is very good at delivering and caring. They even got special meal outside of the menu 😋

Google
Pla B was magical for us in Barcelona. From the staff, to the atmosphere, to the food itself - we were blown away. So good we had to go back a second time. We loved the veal cheeks, pork, baked cod, anchovies, and patatas bravas.

Yelp
Great restaurant in the Gothic Quarter area. It was an easy 10-12 minute walk from the Kimpton Vividora to give you some perspective. We enjoyed PLA in early May 2023. We walked in without a reservation and got Lucky! I definitely recommend making a reservation and not do what we did as you will probably 1) have to wait a while or 2) come back another day. The food is Great. The service is Great. They were very kind to us since our Spanish is horrible. The ambiance is cozy, quaint.... It's a casual restaurant with charm and character. We enjoyed a bottle of Rioja, Seafood paella, tomato bread, veal cheeks and the octopus w/ roasted veggies. The veal cheeks are spectacular and just melt in your mouth. I wish I lived closer so that I could go back and try more of the menu. Hopefully, I'll get to return to Barcelona again and PLA will still be serving up delicious bites.

Candace F.

Yelp
Wonderful and welcoming restaurant in the Gothic Quarter. The food and the staff were both top notch.

Yelp
My wife and I always make sure to stop at PLA B when we visit Barcelona. It's a local gem down a small street with surprisingly good food, cocktails and wine. The owner, Jauhe, personally helps with the service. The food is local and authentic and the service is casual and responsive. On this particular trip, our server, Ylenia, made me an incredible cocktail and good wine recommendations for my wife. If you're looking for a very affordable, fun, local gem in Barcelona, try PLA B.

Yelp
Our last meal.... The trip to Barcelona had come to an end and with it brought the pressure for a "last night" dinner. We settled on Pla after reading some online reviews. Our walk took us into the heart of the Gothic quarter, meandering around twisted and cozy streets until coming to Pla. It's a mid-block location with unassuming entrance - but the proper tapas memory awaits. We were seated in the lower level of this hobbit-hole of a spot- archways, open faced stair tower, whimsy on the walls and the gift of an attentive owner of twenty plu years waiting on our table. We were patiently coached through some great wine selections and some museum quality tapas from a talented kitchen. We enjoyed a broad array of tapas and felt the love of the owner in every bite. Stop in, take it in, make a Barcelona memory. Pla was a terrific last meal in the City.

Yelp
We went to pla for our honeymoon and it was the super delicious meal. We ordered smoke mackerel which was my absolute favorite way of eating mackerel, super flavorful for appetizers!! My husband had beef cheeks, super tender and juicy. I had tuna that was super delicate and had a super flavorful broth. Dessert was deconstructed (chocolate) taste of different textures and a vanilla crema with flamed bananas. Atmosphere: really homey and no stress environment where you and others can really talk and enjoy the food. Totally recommend making reservations and the food is creative and flavorful! Price: decently priced.

Yelp
Had a reservation for birthday celebration at 8pm and arrived with a half empty restaurant (yes, Spanish dinner is very late). We ordered the patata bravas, tomaquets, escalivada, pernil, and galta. Everything was well made and probably some of the best european food I have ever had. The dessert gelato with vermouth is perfect and is a must! Service is attentive but not intrusive. Overall a great restaurant for celebrations and a great introduction to Spanish fine-dining.

Divi A.

Yelp
This is in the Gothic Quarter in one of the many little alleys and it is so cute. It is a small space inside. It is best accessed walking. We went for dinner and they were open late, which was perfect for our jetlagged-selves. We had the croquettes, which were my favorite. They also had a baked lamb with a salad and pear slices. We also had the chickpea hummus which felt both healthy and tasted great. All amazing. I had a sangria, super sweet. It felt more like a dessert drink. If you have a sweet tooth, this is perfect for an after dinner drink. I would definitely come back to try more of their menu!

Shireen J.

Yelp
Amazing food... beautiful out of the way restaurant. The wait staff was amazing and the food was delicious. Do not miss the amazing cava - get a bottle, it's worth it and squid was amazing. Also hands down bread with tomatoes and anchovies was simple but out of this world!

Courtney S.

Yelp
Really awesome atmosphere.. a little bit more intimate though! Would make a great date place. The food was very flavorful and reasonably priced. 100% recommend the sangria (pictured), it was delicious!!

Yelp
In travelings to Barcelona, a place which is now the place of the "world's best restaurant", one's culinary expectations are definitely at a high pitch. And, largely, those expectations are met---from the casual elegance and quality of neighborhood tapas to more formal dining, Barcelona delivers. Pla should be a shining star in that firmament---dining here is a delight, a pleasure, an astonishment. The chef is an alumni of Adrian Ferrer's El Bulli kitchen---and that pedigree shows in the dishes delivered to the table. Sous-vide, molecular gastronomy, A charming interior, friendly and superb service--- This is an experience that remains a highlight of a week in Barcelona and a reason for a quick return. Do note, it's in an area of the Area Gotic that cars are not allowed into---so you will be walking at least 2 blocks from the taxi stand in front of the "City Hall"... Reservations are a must---and oddly, for such a high-end restaurant, they were able to accomodate (or really, there was delicious food that the kids didn't think of as being "adult") two well behaved children, ages 6 and 9... Not excepting our dinner with kids, as a dinner for two, this would be a knockout.

Monti S.

Yelp
If there were half stars, I would give Pla 3.5-4 stars. But do note, I would go back, so this is not a negative review. Just based on price and cuisine for what they offer, I think they should work a wee bit harder and service needs a tiny kick in the booty... as I was getting up to grab my own wine and pour our drinks all night. No issue with this but then don't put the bottle 10' away! The location is fun, situated in one of the small Gothic alleys, nestled amongst the stones. The atmosphere is dim, warm and welcoming. Gothic Barcelona mixed with modern day Barcelona. Multi level space done to feel intimate. Modern art projections on the walls that somehow suit. Each time I have gone (twice in 2 years) I have met some great people at tables next to me. One couple I am still in touch with and hope to rendezvous with again. Friendly, definitely not snooty environment. Food. A mixed bag. Super inventive. I can't say I always score a home run and this is the reasoning for demoted stars. It seems 2 of every 3 dishes hits the mark and the other fail. Given the price point, I feel there should be few to no fails. Portions are also rather diminutive, I feel this is not necessarily that they want to give you less, but it's for the sake of art. Every dish is pretty but small. What strikes me is that after 2 visits, I could not tell you what I had. This to me is telling, as any good restaurant I remember, would always be followed by "and I had this amazing dish you should try..." Again, I would likely go back to Pla, I like the location and I like the feeling. Food is good just not amazing. If you're on a budget, don't choose it as your top choice culinary investment. If you have several nights and budget is open, sure, give it a try.

Yelp
Very tasty. Great service. English, Catalan and Spanish speaking. Located in the Gothic Quarter in Barcelona; this restaurant opened in 1998 (according to their website). This restaurant has a very warm, intimate atmosphere. Honestly, it was difficult to find this place and I can't think of any landmarks, BUT I have attached a copy of the map on the back of their business card, so see the pictures section. The food pictures speak for themselves. It's a little pricey...the four of us pigged out and spent about 30-35 Euro a person with wine; we recommend the Cinclus 08 (white wine); especially if you're planning on eating seafood. Their menu has a nice variety of meats with some vegetables, charcuterie and desserts. Very fresh and flavorful. Not many pure vegetarian options, just so you know. Tip: They get all their fresh fish from the Boquerria market, so if you are craving fish, do not go on a Monday because the market is closed and they will not have their Fish of the Day. Also, Pla is only open for dinner! Reservations recommended.

Yelp
I'd give PLA a solid 3.5 stars. Rounding up here simply because of the lovely atmosphere and the friendly staff. Checked it out for our first meal in Barcelona as it was close to our hotel and seemed to be Lonely Planet approved. It certainly didn't disappoint. We did the tasting menu for about 30 Euros, and got a reasonably priced bottle of wine to go with it. It was a bit strange because the tasting menu was specifically noted in the guide book, yet we had to go out of our way to ask about it. They didn't provide us with the tasting menu off the bat, and they certainly didn't advertise it. No matter, though -- the staff were all extremely friendly, accommodating and most seems to speak some English. Between the two of us, we tasted: The delicious beef tartar with a variety of chips, and seasoned veggies with Spanish ham on a "mosaic" of tomato and apple. Both very good starters. Then we had the fish of the day and the ox tail. Both were good, but the oxtail was definitely superior -- I highly recommend it. Finished with a yummy swiss chocolate cake and an interesting, innovative and refreshing "Bloody Mary" trio of sorbets. Check it out!

Yelp
Creatively delicious from start to finish. Very unassuming place but recommended by two totally different people so it was worth investigating. There is a more casual bar by the same name just around the corner. We landed there first but the waiter was nice enough to tell us how to get to the restaurant. He said they are owned by the same person. The starters were wonderful. Barbeque carrot strips rolled up and perched in a creamy sauce of what they said was yogurt and fois gras. Never have I had anything remotely like this. My husband's mussels in ginger/garlic/chili were also delicious. The main courses were equally delicious with a meld of flavors that was extremely complex. I had cod glistening in a rattatouille plus whole cherry tomatoes, pureed olives (more so than simply a tapanade, and a roasted garlic clove for good measure. My husband's risotto and prawns with bits of seaweed and some airy foam was excellent. Great service once we got the waiter to understand that we did want to know what he liked and why. Red wine from Catalonia has a slight tomato note to it. It too was amazing.

Lou G.

Yelp
Food was excellent. I had the Iberian ham. Others had Grilled Corvina and Beef Cheeks. All were outstanding. As good as any anywhere. Ambiance was nondescript but pleasant enough. Service was friendly and helpful. Strongly recommend if you are the old quarter of Barcelona.

Yelp
I stayed in an AirBnB in Barcelona that just happened to be about 75 feet from Pla, so the first night there, looking for dinner, our party of three just wanted dinner soon and without much walking, and Yelp located this place as close - boy was it! In we walk, it's a Thursday night around 10pm, maybe a little earlier, and we are immediately seated. The atmosphere is really nice, not too loud, but energetic. The lighting is on the lower side, more of a date place in my mind, but certainly fine for any occasion. Our waiter comes by to introduce himself and right away his warmth as a human being is apparent. Not pushy or smarmy, just genuinely friendly and helpful. He's a big guy, maybe a tad over six feet tall, bald, tattooed, and muscular, so one might get the impression he'd be the bouncer type or part of a rough motorcycle gang, but instead he surprises you with playfulness, adept handling of food preferences, great suggestions for drinks, and confidence about the menu. He was helpful for us newbies to Barcelona in determining how much food to order, and it was just right. One thing I have to note is we ordered a pitcher of sangria - something my wine friends and my family would be surprised about - but we were assured that their sangria was the best in the world and I have to say that our waiter was right about that. Certainly the best I've ever had, and damn good, too. We had another pitcher. The food was all good, not wildly so, but certainly I'd go back for the food as well as the drinks and service. We had a very nice experience here and the only reason we didn't go back during our four days in Barcelona was - duh! - there are limitless options for dining in the city and I had to try as many as possible. Note that it's not as food-fancy as similarly priced places - good presentation but not the fine attention to detail of, say, a Michelin starred meal. More of a solid choice kind of place, tucked away in a quiet street and probably with no reservation needed. Get the sangria!

Monica B.

Yelp
This was the worst meal we had in Barcelona. You could tell taht word is out as they were never more than 1/4 full. Bartender spent most of the time we were there cleaning and the smell of the cleaning solution overwhelmed teh restaurant... The maitre D'/server was so bored he was almost hostile. Seems that this restaurant's ownership is absent.

Claire L.

Yelp
Where do I even describing our phenomenal dining experience at Pla? We had a little trouble finding this gem since it's located on a small street as so many restaurants are in the Gothic quarter here. It was absolutely worth the effort when we entered the restaurant on our last night in Barcelona! We were fortunate enough to get a table without a reservation on a Monday night. We had no problem enjoying the view from the bar before sitting down at the table! My boyfriend definitely picked a winner for our last dinner! AMBIENCE: charming, cozy, romantic, rustic and modern! All the elements for an excellent dinner with significant other or a group of friends! There is a second dining level that provides additional tables. We sat front and center on the main level with a view of the bar, the projection wall and the entrance of the restaurant. We were intrigued by all the amazing photos projected on the wall...it's a dinner and a show! I loved the small table lamp that provided just the right amount of lighting. FOOD: wow, our 6-course meal was a culinary triumph! The menu was carefully curated to reflect the regional cuisine with an emphasis on seasonal ingredients. Our waiter informed us that they're in transitioning from the summer menu to the fall menu. The complimentary broccoli soup was very light and tasty - a perfect way to start off a meal. We ordered the 3D broccoli carpaccio, which was a work of art. I never knew you could shave the broccoli into slices that thin! We then proceeded to the main course - aubergine with tofu crumble and lightly seared Iberian pork tenderloin. My boyfriend said the pork tenderloin was the best he's had and he raved about how tender it was since it was barely cooked. My aubergine entree was good but I thought the tofu was the main star given how the waiter described it. But all the roasted veggies and droplets of sauces on the plate were superb! For dessert, we had the special with fresh figs, creme, chocolate cake. It was pure heaven! The complimentary desserts (mango drink and dark chocolate balls) were equally delicious! Service: we waited for a while before our waiter finally came to our table but we didn't mind it at all. The waiter was very patient and explained the menu in details. The staff actually sit down on a stool next to your table to explain the menu and answer all your questions before you order - what a refreshing change compared to the service in the US. Overall, we ate like a king at Pla! There was no doubt that this was the best meal I've had hands down! I appreciated the fact that the portions are adequate and satisfying without leaving you stuffed! The chef has for sure mastered the art of fine dining!

Julio L.

Yelp
Below my expectations after reading other reviews on Yelp. The food was good but not great. The dessert a "milhojas" cake was tasteless, hard to eat and a total disappointment. Our main problem with the place (if the food was not enough) was the service. We realized that the glass of wine that we ordered had detergent residue or something like that and told the waitress so she would change it. She told us that it was the "stain of the glass" (whatever that may be) and that is was normal. Whaaat? After being dismissive finally said with annoyed voice "if you want I can change it but it is not necessary". After that she was rude and paid no attention to our table and took forever to pick up empty plates and to attend us. Frankly I can take this in a cheap fast food restaurant, but Pla claims to be upscale and fine dining. Perfect place to ruin the mood of the night.

Yelp
This place was a stunning little find. 6 American female PhD students wandering the Gothic Quarter after the Picasso Museum, in the rain, and a bit early for a Spanish dinner, directed by the magickal Australian directional phone fairy to this arty, sultry, and extremely delicious jewelbox. The prices were not inexpensive but adequately priced for the creative and divine dishes and wine we were served. We shared a few appetizers (sheep cheese croquettes, some sexy tostadas, fresh greens, porc carpaccio, etc), a few bottles of carefully selected and informed wines, a few of the gals were vegetarians and had a velvety looking eggplant dish, I had a meltingly rich dish with beef cheeks, another gal had a prawn soup that arrived with the shrimp neatly tucked in the bottom of the bowl and the pumpkin puree hand-poured over at the table. We shared a dessert, some port, some coffee. We had a great time - great conversation surround by perfect mood lighting, art, and character. Highly recommended.

Rowena M.

Yelp
I can imagine that if I lived in Barcelona (a girl can hope!), Pla is the place I would visit when I fancy a romantic or any kind of special night out. The location itself is quite mysterious, hidden real well in a quiet, narrow street. If you're lucky enough, ask to be seated upstairs where you can have your cozy table while overlooking the rest of the beautiful restaurant. Focusing on creative Catalan cuisine, this would be a unique dining experience should you find yourself needing a break from food served with toothpicks (though I do love pintxos). I had a sardine salad, served really fresh (and by this, I mean you better love sardines) with some microgreens and just a sliver of avocado to add a creamy texture to the salad. My husband had some seaweed noodles which he claimed to be "too clean" because it was bland, boring, and tasteless. For our main course, we chose a dry-aged sirloin as well as corvina - these were excellent choices! Service was impeccable without being too overbearing or snooty and the complimentary truffles and marshmallows were the perfect way to end our meal.

Ellie P.

Yelp
This restaurant is absolutely amazing. I've been here twice. It's a very charming place to go for either a romantic evening for two or an intimate and not casual but not too fussy meal with friends. You'll find it on a small street in the old part of Barcelona, and find your way into a smallish cozy wood-floored restaurant with small tables and a mezzanine level overlooking the main floor. The absolutely best reason to go here is the steak. You get a thick steak, perfectly cooked medium-rare with a slice of apple and foie gras. One of the times I went here, one person in my group said it was the best steak he'd had in over twenty years. And he's not really an exaggerator. For the starters, try any carpaccio -- veggie lovers will enjoy the courgettes. Meat lovers will enjoy the pork. After eating quite the impressive steak both times, I've barely had any room left for dessert. But they have a chocolate and wasabi gluten free option. What was not to like? Spicy notes only make the chocolate come to life. Gluten-free notes: They note on their menu that most dishes are made without gluten. You'll have few restrictions. This is an excellent option.

Jen L.

Yelp
What a great little find! I love the relaxed vibe of Barcelona and this place truly captures it, along with professionalism and great service. It's not "Americanized" but I will admit that it's a good place to go for a combo of authenticity and comfort as an American (usually I like sticking to authenticity, but this place makes it work). We had all things from the sea. Go. You will love it, I'm sure.

Robert V.

Yelp
My girlfriend took me here for my birthday and , wow, did she hit bullseye! Such a cosy, well hidden, gastronomical pearl with a selection of dishes that are all worth the order. The presentation was outstanding, the quality of products use ; above standards and the wines proposed ; spot on! The staff was grant; dedicated and attentive to their guests and where necessary changing from Catalan to Castellano to English and back. We can highly recommend restaurant Pla to all those who know how to value good food! Bravo!

Amena P.

Yelp
Amazing food served with the ambience of old Spain- with a refreshingly modern and updated twist. Service was slow but just so we could savor each and every morsel of each and every dish! Seafood- meats- vegetables- all dishes were great. We shared desserts because we couldn't eat anymore

Shweta K.

Yelp
Didn't love it as much as we thought we would considering all the hype. Would recommend making a reservation if you do eat here. Ordered the cheese carpaccio as a starter which we did enjoy, really interesting and delightful way to serve a cheese! For entrees, I had the Fideua with porcini mushrooms... it was fine. But overpriced and didn't feel like a complete entree as that was all that was on the dish - nothing to cut the flavor with between bites once it got to be too much. My husband had the fish special of the day which was also so-so. He didn't feel it was as amazing as should have been for the price or considering that it was their special of the day. Probably wouldn't return to eat here on another trip, we ate at many other stellar places!

Billy D.

Yelp
Five of us had dinner here when we were in Barcelona. We found it by noticing the logo and the really dark and mysterious inside - so we came back for dinner at about 9pm (too early for spain). Starting with cocktails, they poured the drinks tableside which was a nice touch. The service was pretty solid and the prices were fair. The group agreed that the almond-melon soup was the basically the best soup anyone had ever tasted. The ingredients were fresh, the menu innovative. I had the lamb, which was stellar and I tried the tenderloin which nailed it again. Everyone at the table was either silent or talking about how great their food was during dinner = success.

Diane C.

Yelp
Wow, Pla was fantastic. The ambience, the food, the service. All A+. I was skeptical when our hotel recommended it because I was thinking it'd be super touristy but then we met a few locals who also highly recommended it. Luckily we called for a reservation - I don't think you can get a seat just walking in. After 8 days in Spain, after experiencing delicious meats and spiced dishes, I was desperate for just a green salad as appetizer and boy did they deliver! I also ordered a chicken pot pie dish and it was so decadent and wonderful. The waitstaff is similarly well rounded. They greet you and pull up a chair next to you while going over the choices and specials. It all felt very comfortable and extremely nice - yet still with casual undertones. I told the waiter I was pregnant and he immediately rattled off some non-alcoholic drinks they could make for me. I was impressed!

Fiona R.

Yelp
Possibly my favourite restaurant in the world. The food and wine are outstanding, lighting and ambience in the intimate two floor restaurant are perfect with interesting and discreet projections on the walls and the wait staff are attentive. The chef clearly puts a lot of thought and effort into creating an eclectic, seasonal and delicious menu. The wine list has a lot of choice-all excellent and their great sommelier is happy to give recommendations based on the dishes ordered. This chef is really one to watch and his creations make Pla a special place to visit. I would fly to Barcelona for the foie gras alone! Top quality food in a relaxed environment.

Lauren S.

Yelp
Went here our second night. The restaurant was beautiful-great location and very romantic. It was recommended by many of our US friends. It was literally behind our hotel. I had the seabass ceviche which was amazing. I then had the pork which was also delightful. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to experience a great meal in the Gothic neighborhood.

Julieanne T.

Yelp
super impressive presentation but when it came to taste it was just ok. The decor in the restaurant is very unique and beautiful so i would definitely recommend going for a drink and maybe an appetizer. I just felt like i paid a lot of money for something that was ok.

Matilda F.

Yelp
Writing this review from the restaurant itself! First thing off, the moment we entered the restaurant we were stunned - the interior is cozy, comfortable and welcoming; all great qualities. Just make sure to reserve a table here - place was full even though it was 10 pm. Our waiter was very charming - he explained the dishes to us in great detail, we felt welcomed where somewhere else I personally would've felt slightly uncomfortable in this situation. The food is really great, BUT two things: 1. It is definetly not cheap. I paid 24 euros for a very medium sized plate of steak and mashed potatoes, so this is not the place for you if you are on a budget. 2. As I mentioned briefly before, the portions are not all that big for their price tag. Sure, it's good that they're not oversized, but I felt just the slightest bit underwhelmed. But the quality definetly made up for it! Overall this is a great place to go if you just want a calm evening with your loved ones. (Plus they give you a free treat at the end of your meal!)

Ghaz M.

Yelp
Amazing food. Amazing service. Enough said. Definitely recommend: - Gazpacho soup with watermelon, raspberries, and caviar - Cooked vegetables and roots - Seared Ahi tuna with 4 dipping sauces - Grilled smoked Salmon The wine we were recommended was excellent as well.

Henry M.

Yelp
We grabbed lunch on a quiet Saturday. The restaurant is rated as one of the most romantic in Barcelona. It is a very sophisticated and upscale space and our service was warm and welcoming. They serve a unique eclectic menu of inventive good quality food. We started with a simple fresh salad of butter lettuce, radishes and watermelon. I got the pork loin with a luscious mushroom hash but my wife got the beef cheeks and they were amazing - a piece of dark rich beef on the plate which magically literally melted away on your palate into Ur Beef deliciousness. The portions are not huge but the quality is good. A very nice and elegant restaurant appropriately named I assume after Catalan journalist and bon vivant Josep Pla who's style was known for irony, simplicity and clarity. If you're tired of tapas and seafood and have the euros in your pocket, Pla delivers a unique and rewarding dining experience in old Barcelona.

Ksenia C.

Yelp
On a short trip to Barcelona I really wanted to find a place to enjoy Catalan food and not waste my chance ;) well, if you have only one chance to dine - choose Pla! Intimate setting, pleasant waiters, perfect wine list (although a bit lacking on choices per glass), small but varied menu - everything was pleasant.

Kristine B.

Yelp
Well, the restaurant has a great ambiance. The night we were there, they had live music (a cello and a clarinet) which was really pleasant. We did the tasting menu with wine pairing and just found the experience to be strange. Some of the dishes were enjoyable but for the most part, they were harsh combinations that challenged the taste buds. The wine was not good and the pairing rarely worked. The service was not bad but not personable or friendly at all. I would not recommend.

Henrik E.

Yelp
4.5/5 Cosy place with very good food. Professional staff. Somewhat more expensive though, but worth it. I recommend the risotto!

Lizel D.

Yelp
I came here for my birthday and the experience was amazing . The food was beyond my expectations . It was very tasty and amazing . The staff were helpful and the ambiance of the environment left a sweet and amazing experience. This is a must try when visiting the city .

Simon H.

Yelp
This restaurant is truly excellent in all aspects. To accompany a lovely bottle of Chardonnay Cava I ordered a glass of House Red - the manager helpfully asked what type of House Red I would like - usually there is no choice and he brought me a delicious berry flavoured soft red. The food is tasty, well prepared and presented with portions are balanced - three courses is just right. Manager, waiter and all staff very professional, friendly and helpful. It is well worth taking the time to come back if they are full when you walk in - booking recommended.

Eanna O.

Yelp
This is probably one of the best restaurants i've eaten in EVER! The whole atmosphere from the lighting, to the friendly staff, to the quality of the food... is out-standing. If you have to try anything, try the Octopus, it really is unreal anything i've ever tasted and I would fly back to Barcelona for this dish alone.

Stephen R.

Yelp
We were lucky enough to get a table with no reservation at 19:30, right when they opened. We had to promise to be done by 9, which was completely reasonable. The ambiance is a wonderful mixture of old construction and new lighting. I had Gin Mare and tonic, and my wife and her sister had a bottle of the house Cava. Both were great. For the appetizers, we had the cheese carpaccio and a salad. Both were great, and the fresh baked bread that arrived to the table was delicious. For the main course, I had the Iberian pork cheeks with port reduction, melted brie, potato, garlic and thyme. They were fork-tender and the port reduction and brie went perfectly with the potatoes and meat. Phenomenal dish. My wife and her sister had specials, one of which involved octopus. Both dishes were fantastic. Honestly, the service, food, and presentation was nearly perfect. The only reason I'm not awarding a 5 is because I try to reserve them for something that truly blows my mind.

Yelp
We came to this restaurant a few days into our barcelona visit, and wished we found it earlier! The place is über cosy with friendly waiters who take their time to go through the menu and make a well thought suggestion from the wine menu! Only down side is that there was nothing from the dessert menu that caught out interest but nothing major and probably has more to do with the fact we were full from the starter and main! The price is fair and we ended up both night paying around 100 euros for two persons for a few different glasses of wine and starter and main.

Yelp
The location and the atmosphere of the restaurant are really cool. The service was standard and I remember our meal was tasty, but my husband would have liked a larger portion.

Yelp
Absolutely worth every euro. Not the cheapest but great value for money, great food, service and atmosphere. Highly recommend.

Yelp
i LOVE Pla. My boyfriend and I went on a dinner double date with his coworkers. The coworker part.... i'll just be PC and leave that part out. However, I'll gladly laud the food over and over again! The menu and our hot (seriously handsome) waiter (not to say that I wasn't keeping my eyes on my boyfriend that night!!!) came in English mode. THANK GOD. I am so tired of using my barely comprehendable Spanish. And no, absolutely no Catalonian outa me! the food was AMAZING. I am so tired of eating sandiwches every day and every night, a real fine dining experience was desperately needed. GREAT food, Great wine, cozy/sexy/intimate atmosphere. Whats there not to love? yeah, its pricey, but for what you get? I'll go again and again! Thank you, Pla!!!

Yelp
On my last trip to Barcelona we went here twice on the recommendation of a friend. The food and service are excellent. Both times was for a business dinner. The folks Pla accommodate a large party and all of our special requests. It's a little hard to find but just follow your maps application. Once you get oriented, very easy to find. If you are planning on going by taxi, it will drop you off nearby and you will have a very short walk down an ally way. I had Tuna one night and then a baked chicken dish the second. I had them pick out an array of appetizers. All of it was very good. Will definitely go back.

Yelp
Very friendly, perfect service, delicious food, not ordinary but awesome. Great atmosphere, romantic and intimate. This is one of our favorites for "real" dinner and not tapas in Barcelona! Make sure you place a reservation!

Yelp
Used yelp to select this restaurant and wasn't disappointed. Fantastic meal. Did the tasting menu with the accompanying wine flight. Exceptional! Amazing part of Barcelona as well. Fully recommend to anyone. I was even little scared as someone with a less adventurous palate, but every course was awesome and service was exceptional.
