Large square surrounded by beautiful buildings. The town hall is probably the most iconic looking building. They do have exhibitions in the town hall. You will find shops and cafes/restaurants in the square. Arras is a small city but very charming. Great place for a day visit. Lots of paid parking in the area.

Heroes Square in Ypres ( Leper in Flemish) Belgium is an historical square with many restaurants food shops and eateries. We arrived there around 2 pm on a Wednesday, and the food market had just finished. Historical city and this square and its buildings were largely destroyed during WW1, so has been rebuilt in its original style.

Beautiful square in a wonderful city with many places to eat and drink. Don’t forget to remember the Heroes the square is named after - on the Résistance Memorial on the Town Hall.

The square is huge and on Wednesdays and Saturdays they have venders and food merchants filling the square offering fruits, vegy produce, baked goods, rotisserie chicken and lots more. You need to plan to be there.

Yelp
Okay, I'm not actually going to go out and claim that this is where the centre of the action can be found in Arras, but there was certainly more going on here than there was going on in the other town square. In particular there was even a couple of restaurants here that were open, though from the crowds it appeared that these may have been the only restaurants in town. However, what made it stand out was the belfry, that is the tower that stands upon the town hall. What the Grand Place lacked, the Place de Heros certainly makes up for it.
