Place d’Youville in Quebec City offers a charming outdoor ice skating rink in the heart of downtown, perfect for skating enthusiasts or casual visitors. Open during the winter months, the rink features a refrigeration system that keeps the ice in great condition even if there’s no snow. Skating is free, and you can rent skates on-site for around $8. Lockers are also available for your belongings if you bring your own padlock. The rink operates daily, with extended hours during holiday periods like Christmas and New Year. Regular hours typically run from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on weekends and from noon to 10 p.m. on weekdays.

It was amazing there was those things to hold on to in case you are not so good at ice skating there was one for kids and adults. The ice skates were good quality and you could borrow a helmet for free. It was a very good experience I hope you go!

Beautiful, but busy busy busy! Too small for the amounts of crowds it attracts. Good services and sharpening of ice skates

I think this is lively in winter only. yeah, in summer, there could be street artists or local performances but whatever photos I see on the net, it's all from the winter season. in winter- The ice rink at Place D'Youville is the perfect place to experience Québec City's winter. From mid-November to mid-March, put on skates and enjoy its magical atmosphere. Situated at one of the busiest intersections in the city, D’Youville Square (Place D’Youville) holds historical significance as a former bustling marketplace that now serves as a lively crossroads, marking the boundary between Old Quebec and Quebec Parliament Hill. Place D’Youville is a public square in the core of Quebec City, Quebec, Canada. It is situated on rue Saint-Jean, one of the oldest roads in Quebec City. The square is named in honor of Marie-Marguerite d'Youville, a French-Canadian widow who founded the religious order known as the Grey Nuns of Montreal. It has been a focal point and gathering place for a very long time. It began as the Montcalm public market.

July 2021 a nice place to hang out, chill and relax. The area always changes with different things and hosts different events. A nice place that's always evolving. Center of the city, lots of parking nearby.

The rink is excellenct. Free, staffed, and indoor heated change room with skate rentals and sharpening. The rink is regularly cleared by a Zamboni and it is level and smooth. Skating at the outdoor rink is fun and free, and as an added bonus just outside the walls of Vieux Quebec for an après hot chocolate or walk to the Château Frontenac to look at the river.

Beautiful and alive place for people to ensure him the wonders of winter in Quebec. The staff takes good care of the ice and most of the people that gather to enjoy it, either tourists or locals, are usually in the best of moods and having the greatest times.

The ice was so crisp and clean, we got on after the zambony passed, they even have adult aides to help you skate, bathroom are free for the public inside the skate rental, sharpening is also available, we paid 8$. Skaes to rent is 10$. Lockers are 2$ to rent, but we just left our bag and boots under the benches. The rink is small but it's all you need to get some nice picks and enjoy the experience.
