Beautiful square in Strasbourg, right next to the Cathedral and an abundance of shops, cozy cafes and restaurants. In the winter it turns into a magical Christmas wonderland. The storefronts are decorated to the nines with elaborate decorations, branches, bows, wreaths and other beautiful adornments. Excellent gathering and meeting spot when shopping, as it is centrally located in the middle of several different directions of shops. I highly recommend a visit during the Christmas season and in random Saturday's, as they always have a fresh market going on. You can buy tons of fresh produce, fresh creams and yogurts, meat pies and all sorts of yummy treats.

We came here with our guide during Rhine River cruise. This beautiful historical square is located in the heart of Strasbourg. Some of the famous buildings are in this square like Opera House, City Hall and Governor's Palace. The French national anthem "La Marseillaise" was first sung here. There are many cafes and shops over here. This square is also very popular for weekly and Christmas market. Worth visiting...

It could one of the top Christmas market in the world. The whole old town of Strassbourg is closed off and dedicated as pedestrian zone and Christmas market. The decorations are quite extensive and unique. Some restaurants go all put and created beautiful designs.

We visited the Christmas Market, and it was beautiful! Many great stalls with different types of crafts and food... everything was delicious! The Christmas Tree this year was a beautiful 70+ years old 7.5 tonnes 31 meters silver fir... truly breathtaking

Christmad market 2025, beautiful stalls, tree lighting ceremony at 4pm, music and the giant tree lits up with different colors until it's all lighted up, takes a few minutes. Don't miss this! Strasbourg goes all out for the holidays. Most streets are decorated, many interesting sights

Better Christmas markets throughout Europe. This was so crowded, we couldn’t enjoy it. People were getting knocked over due to amount of people. We walked through once and ended up staying the next day at the hotel to avoid the crowds.

Amazing place to see the lights and feel the joy of Christmas. There are a lot of Christmas markets in a walking distance. There is also an ice-skating rink which is outdoors and in front of a beautiful lighted plaza building. Be sure to walk around to the cathedral nearby as well.
