This was a really wonderful hotel. My room was super clean, especially the bedding and mattress. The staff was really friendly and helped me figure out things like where to eat, etc. The location is kind of boring, but it’s really close to a tram stop and was safe. There was no AC, but the room held a comfortable temperature in September and the window opens for some fresh air.

It is a excellent hotel overall, good service and kind people there. I guess the two things you should keep in mind are:||1) The bathroom, which has a very unique design. If you go with someone, you might need to request a courtain or something, which they will kindly provide.|2) The location is on an industrial complex. This was not an issue for me and certainly it is not an ugly place by any means, but you might want to take that into account because there is some noise in the morning. This is something you can see before booking though so it is not a real issue. That said, it is well connected (as most places in Zurich are) with public transportation.

This is an attractive, modern hotel with a pleasant and helpufl staff, but there were some drawbacks. Here's a short list: 1 - The double bed has space on only one side, so one of us had to sleep pressed against the wall. And there were no side tables to put glasses, etc on. 2 - The shower is huge and lovely, but the huge glass partition is so clear as to be invisible. One of us slammed into it by accident one night. Some decoration on the glass would make it more visible. 3 - The price for a hotel breakfast is absurd - CHF 29.00 on the day. There are countless places in Zurich to eat better, more affordable meals. 4 - The location of the hotel is, essentially, an industrial park, utterly charmless. So while there are great views from the top floors, they are views of office buildings, not really of the lake, river or mountains that surround the city. 5 - While there is a coffee maker, there is no fridge to put milk or anything else. These are all fixable (except the hotel location) and I hope the Placid Hotel takes these comments on board.

The hotel is conveniently located for both tourists and businesses visitors. There's a network of busses and a team which connects it to the city. They also offer bicycle, which is a convenient choice when in Zurich. The rooms are styled in industrial design (as the location around it) and very comfortable. There are plenty of power outlets in the room, toiletries are great and coffee capsules are for free! It doesn't have much storage space, I guess because most guests don't stay more than a few days, but there's so much space in the room, that one can easily organise themselves. Breakfast is tasty with nice ingredients and their restaurant has a great menu + a nice tucked in garden.

Location of the hotel is really bad. It’s far away from the city centre. It’s situated in an industrial area. What you can see from the room is industrial buildings and warehouses. It’s a bit too quiet if you arrive the hotel late at night. The room is renovated like a warehouse instead of hotel room. The photos on the web are cosmetic. This hotel has absolutely no hospitality. The staff members are rude and disrespectful. The room was extremely dirty. The tissue box, coffee capsules and coffee machine were covered with dust. Hence, we couldn’t use them. The hair dryer was stuck with human hair and the carrying bag is old and dirty. If you can’t accept an open bathroom (transparent door without any curtains, which is different from the online pictures), please don’t stay at this hotel. Remember to keep your room key cards safely. You will be charged for missing them.

Third class hotel. All the good reviews look to be paid. We asked for kettle to boil water for our baby and were provided totally dirty kettle. Pics attached. Person at the reception was totally rude ( Eddy ). Very limited options in the name of breakfast. Very small room. No air conditioning inspite of mentioned on site ( we booked through make my trip). Bathroom is totally transparent, not idle for families.

We had a very pleasant stay at Placid Hotel. The room was comfortable with a nice view, making it a relaxing place to return to after exploring the city.||The breakfast was good, offering a nice variety to start the day.||The staff were all very friendly and helpful. A special mention goes to Melanie Hartmann at reception, who provided us with detailed information about things to do in the city as well as clear guidance on transport. Her assistance made our trip so much easier and more enjoyable.||Overall, we had a great stay and would happily recommend Placid Hotel to others.

Great views out the windows! We used the gym, lounge area, and decks and were surprised by how well they were maintained. We used the hotel’s bikes to explore Zurich, which was very fun. The train station is a 10-minute walk from the hotel. It has grocery stores and restaurants within walking distance. We loved our stay!
