Plain Vanilla ION Orchard

Located within a clothing store. Nice brew coffee attracted me here. Nice place to rest and chill while the missus continues to shop. Plain vanilla has one of the best cup cakes in Singapore. Can’t go wrong.

I did a pick-up order at this outlet. The cake looked fine when I collected it. I asked how long it could last outside of the fridge and was advised it would be fine for 1 to 3 hours. After that, I brought it to the office — the 45-minute journey was by MRT and fully air-conditioned. However, when I took the cake out, the wordings had melted off. I tried contacting the outlet by phone but couldn’t reach anyone, so I followed up via WhatsApp instead. They replied saying they would look into the matter, but I haven’t received any update since. I’m really disappointed with the experience.

Came here on a Sunday afternoon, and there was a short queue for the seatings. Waited around 10-15 minutes before we entered. The waiters and waitresses were quite efficient when it comes to serving, but please double check your receipt as they miscalculated for us. Coffee was decent but the match latte falls on the sweeter end, so avoid it if you’re someone who doesn’t like your drinks too sweet. Highly recommend their salads tho! The prices are reasonable and the taste is refreshing.

If these cakes had to be given a nutrition grade… it would be defo a grade E y’all 😳😳 also most of the cakes were hella DRYYY we liked the raspberry basil friand tho but that’s about it… “I don’t have a favourite, but I have a least favourite” 😵 “It’s a feast for the eyes but not for the mouth” 🥲

I had a fantastic experience at Plain Vanilla! The friendly staff made me feel welcome right away. I tried the strawberry white chocolate cupcake, and it was absolutely delicious ,perfectly sweet and rich. Paired with a cappuccino that was equally amazing, it was the perfect treat. With a great variety of cupcakes as well as proper meals to have a nice brunch to pair with the drinks, I can’t wait to go back! Highly recommend!

Coffee is good. Cake is just normal but pound cake is good. Tables/ seats are limited but if you get a seat, it is good to take a break during a shopping.

Favourite coffee place in town, recommended by a good friend and I always patron every time am at Orchard. I am totally not a fan of anything sweet, but I have to comment that the strawberry custard tart is very well bake. The crust is crumbly and the burnt crystal sugar over the tart made it taste special. Like the overall flavour. Coffee is great 👍 not acidic, smooth and very light coffee aroma. However, the coffee art can be improved. Sometime it’s get very crowded so you better put your name on the wait list then go for your shopping.

Tucked in the corner of an apparel shop (In good company), Plain Vanilla in ion is a good place for respite from the busy streets of orchard-a good place to rest your legs after a shopping spree or a nice quiet place to spend a weekday afternoon. Known for their cupcakes, plain vanilla's earl grey lavender does not disappoint. While some may find the frosting a tad too sweet, I personally feel that it is nicely balanced by the soft sponge cake. The coffee, which uses beans from Papa Palheta was smooth and fragrant when I ordered the flat white ($5). Couldn't taste the precise notes but it was decent enough. Update: Visited on Christmas Eve and the cupcakes were lacking the usual fluffiness with the earl grey lavender being a bit too dense. The Christmas special was not bad but the coffee failed to meet expectations as well.

One must be a huge fan of the Plain Vanilla brand to come to this café. It is hidden in the back of a local apparel shop. What's on offer is eclectic: cupcakes and tarts (their main products), a few sandwiches, 3 salads, coffee and tea. The food looks fresh. I had two salads. The supersalad is good; the chicken and saffron rice salad is too dry. Unless you want to have a quiet bite, you'd be better off at a real coffee shop or salad bar.

Cute little cafe in the back of one of ION's retail stores called 'In Good Company'. Their array of sweets on display is tantalising, and from the expressions of other customers around, the pasta's pretty good too! I only got a coffee, which was a little cool for my liking (I never enjoy a lukewarm latte) so that brought them down a notch in my eyes, but the staff were friendly and the latte art was cute :)

I loved this place! It's not really a restaurant setting, it's like a cafe inside a retail shop. Interesting. Anyway I'm here to review the pasta and cupcake. I had a somewhat spicy spaghetti with tomato sauce and it was spicy but delicious. And then I wanted coffee with my cupcake (yes I was very hungry that day) and I had an iced latte with a white chocolate strawberry cupcake or something like that, and it was amazing!!! I just wished it were closer to where I lived or worked so I can just come over any time. I'm keen to check the other vanilla bakeries/shops. And I also wish they had more items on the menu. Recently became allergic to mushrooms over the past 3 years, learned it the hard way 3 times, always ending up at the doctors office, so it would be good if they offered other none mushrooms options for pastas and sandwiches. But anyway I love tomatoes and tomato sauce. As long as they have more variety it would be even better. So 4.5 stars for me, and rounding up :)
