I have visited six other locations, and when I request a chair massage, they normally provide at least 10 minutes at once. However, at this location, they always provide only 5 minutes and then tell me to call again to request the remaining 5 minutes. Having to repeat this process every time is very inconvenient. In addition, both chair massage machines are operating, but the rollers do not reach the shoulder area and are not functioning properly. To be clear, the machines turn on, but they are not working correctly. When a chair massage is requested, it should be provided for a minimum of 10 minutes at once. Also, both chair massage machines need to be repaired so that the rollers can reach the shoulder area properly.

0 Star — Do NOT recommend this location I had a horrible experience at this Planet Fitness. The staff are extremely disrespectful, rude, and very unprofessional. There is no customer service here at all. People are spoken to in a nasty tone and treated like they don’t matter. Leslie in particular was absolutely awful. The way she spoke to me felt discriminatory and completely inappropriate. For this to be happening in the city of Detroit, a predominantly Black city, is very sad and unacceptable. I was honestly horrified by how I was treated. No one should feel uncomfortable or disrespected at a place they are paying to be a member of. Management seriously needs to address the behavior of their staff. I will not be returning and I advise others to think twice before coming to this location.

Joined a few months ago- right before they upgraded facility. For the price, it’s outstanding. Same equipment as the $350 a month lifetime fitness at 42nd and 11th. Of course, doesn’t have the same locker room amenities, but I’m there to sweat not to be pampered. The manager here does an excellent job. He clearly cares and is always doing the little things.

it's a good gym but I think some things gotta be changed like I know we literally got new equipment not too long ago but I feel like the dumbbells should be higher than 75 and get better machines that goes up in weight tbh like the lateral raise machine it only goes up to 160 but I feel like they could've gotten an machine that goes up way higher like the one at 34 their lateral raise goes up to 200+ like they need to update the machines so their weights would be higher it would be so much better and if they do that oh boy I will glaze planet fitness till the end of the Universe

One of the worst locations in the city and it just got even worse. Super small facility with a weirdly large locker room. Place is always crowded and they just got rid of a TON of equipment, leaving only one of any machine including the most popular/used ones leading to super long wait times for equipment. And the black card is rather useless at this location with minimal perks. Find a different location if you want to actually be able to workout.

Overall I get a good workout. I'm excited they are getting new machines at the moment. I hope they get the machines that auto count reps like in the Boerum location. I see staff cleaning when I'm there and that's a priority for me. The women's locker area needs some maintenance. I noticed peeling wallpaper and corner guards are broken, but my biggest complaint, the lighting everywhere, including in the locker room. Why so dim?!?! I signed up at the Boerum, I'm 100% comparing locations.

Average gym, but great for a planet fitness. Never too busy at the times I’ve gone. My only complain would be the dimness of the lighting in the free-weights room and it can often be warm inside. But overall a good experience for a decent workout

I’ve been a member of this gym for several years. Over time, I’ve noticed occasional issues in the locker room area and have reported my concerns to the front desk each time. Yesterday, I securely locked my belongings before working out for about an hour. When I returned, my locker was open and my wallet, including my IDs, was missing. I immediately notified the front desk and was informed that similar incidents have occurred before. I also filed a police report. It’s disappointing to hear that this seems to be a recurring problem, and I wish more had been done to prevent it. Unfortunately, due to this experience, I’ve decided to cancel my membership and can’t recommend this location to others until the situation is resolved. I've been back 3 days in a row to speak with the manager but was told that the manager had left earlier.
