On the Grid : Plank

"This is the incarnation of a hipster place. All the Bahnhofviertel coolness started here. This is were the so called scene meets – art students, musicians and entrepreneurs. During the lunch breaks it´s populated with groovy bank accountants who wear statement socks. Minimal interior but very likable. Service is not their strength, be prepared to be greeted with disinterest and boredom – do not take this personal it's a slightly helpless effort to appear cool. The coffee and Japanese green tea is very good though. If you get the chance try the sweet Portuguese Custard Tarts (Pastéis de Nata)." - Dreimorgen

Nice to have a chit chat and teatime here The egg tart is nice, I like it. Matcha oat latte (the waiter served oat milk and keeps on checking if I’m fine with it, because I ordered regular milk) was pretty decent too 😊

Nice little coffee shop on the corner with great outside seating to catch sun and people watch from

I like the place but the price of the cocktails is a bit high given that they are not that sophisticated

theres like one guy, the long guy, who can make decent long drinks. otherwise u end up paying 14 euros for dish water. nor can they pour beer properly—poor. stay with the long guy if u order long drinks otherwise stick to maaaybe wine or bottled beer. grade A rip off otherwise and terrible waste of money

I got ignored waiting in the bar and was only served when there was no one left around me. The Korean bartender directly waved people behind me to be served. When I protested, he said they all have been in the bar for 2 hours. And he complained about my entitlement? (Does anyone not go to a bar expecting to be served respectfully and equally?) I need to repeat my order 3 times before he responded. He then side eyed me and thrust a half glass of Negroni without ice cubes. When I protested, he took the glass away and pushed me to leave. Other comments on this site address the racist behavior and the rudeness.

Rude lady. I come here everyday, suddenly she looks down upon me asking me to vacate. DONT GO HERE. Very bad behaviour. Not worth the insult.Learn some Manners to begin with

Good, tasty and refreshing drinks. Service was friendly and quick despite being reasonably busy. Decor is basic and dark. Some seating outside on the pavement. A little pricey (8-13€ for drinks), but standard for the area.

Everyone seems to be obsessed with this place when I went a few years ago. I did return more than once just for the crowd. It was always a lot of really friendly locals and I enjoyed coming here. I thought drinks here were just ok but I would come back for the amount of people who came because that’s what really made it fun. Also i met my boyfriend here. Lol.
