This plant shop is absolutely beautiful! They had the perfect range of plants for my apartment, no matter the light conditions. The owner was incredibly knowledgeable and helped me choose exactly what I needed. If you’re looking to add some life to your home, this is the perfect first stop. They also have a stunning selection of pots and planters to match any style. Highly recommend! 🌱🍃🤩

The instructor at Plant Party is nothing short of amazing. Knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely passionate about plants, they guided us through the process with ease and enthusiasm. They made sure everyone felt confident in their creations, offering tips and tricks along the way. This class is a fantastic choice for any date night. It’s a unique activity that allows for creativity and bonding. My wife and I loved how different it was from our usual outings, and we left with beautiful terrariums and memories that will last a lifetime. The combination of a beautiful setting, expert instruction, and a hands-on activity makes it a standout experience in East Austin. Don’t miss out on this botanical gem—sign up for a class and let your inner plant artist flourish!

This place was so quaint, yet very eclectic! Hav the owner stated that they specialize in mature plants and specialty plants. You’ll find some favorites like Philodendrons and succulents, but the length on their nature string of hearts, and their more rare variegated plants are impressive! Great place for collectors. They also sell clippings!

I celebrated my anniversary with my partner at Plant Party and we made two terrariums that were absolutely gorgeous. I can't recommend Plant Party enough as a fun activity to do. Keri (the owner) is such a kind and patient teacher and her shop is filled with absolutely beautiful plants, all of which are for sale. If you're looking to purchase beautiful plants or looking for a fun interactive project, I would highly recommend Plant Party! You won't be disappointed!

Google
Where do I start? The store is gorgeous and lush, and was arranged so beautifully with a huge variety of plants. Keri and Jav were super friendly and helpful. If you love plants, Plant Party is a must-see in Austin.

Google
A really cute plant store selling some of the most unique house plants I have seen any where. The colors and the textures of these are phenomenal.

Such a cute little shop! The owner was very kind and helpful too. (Thanks Kerri!) Absolutely LOVING my new bird’s nest fern and planter 😍 Will definitely have to come back for more!

This is a cute shop that supports local artists. The owner is very sweet and was super informative. She stocks air plants, succulents, planters, wall art, textiles, and much more. She also offers classes. Definitely worth a visit!

Extremely knowledgeable staff, unique varieties, very great ambiance, my favorite indoor plant store in Austin.

Yelp
I've been a plant parent for about 5 years. I shop at local plant shops whenever I travel (I live in Dallas) and I have NEVER seen prices this high. I was flabbergasted when I looked at the price tags. As someone who owns a small business myself, I do realize that every small business has the right to charge what they believe they're worth, but I don't want anyone who is just getting started with plants to think these prices are normal. They very much are not. Tillery Street Plant Co. is a very large plant shop nearby that has more reasonably priced plants. Plant Party is really fun to go in and take a look around, but I would never purchase. I saw a string of hearts priced at almost $200 and I bought one from a Dallas plant shop 4 times it's size for $50. I do have to add that I didn't plan on leaving a review until I saw the owners replies to some reviews. Very rude and unprofessional. I was shocked at how they spoke to people just leaving their opinion.

Yelp
Such a unique arrangement of plants and pottery! Was pleasantly surprised to learn that they offer free delivery within the area. What a wonderful alternative option other than the usual Tiff's Treats to surprise and brighten someone's day!

Yelp
Great vibes & great finds!!! Easily one of the best plant shops in Austin! So many rare, exotic plants that are healthy & happy. Not to mention, a very nice collection of pots & terrarium glasses. Plants are a bit pricey, but worth every penny. I'd recommend. Definitely going to shop here more often!

Yelp
I legitimately cannot believe that I even have to give 1 star. Keri, the owner, has been the most absolute most unpleasant and spiteful individual to deal with and 100% of the reason why I feel compelled to write this long-winded review. Screenshots of her nastiness + explanations below. I ordered a potted monstera for my bff that lives in Austin since I live in a different city. It was delivered maybe an hour or 2 before she arrived home (which was fine... it wasn't getting direct sunlight and btw, plants' natural habitat is outside??). Upon receiving the plant, it looked a little rough (raisiny skin, yellowing around almost every leaf) but I figured it could be nursed back to health once it got to its forever home. Less than a week later, one of the leaves is almost halfway browned with yellow edges on every single leaf. My friend had the monstera in perfect conditions and was not overwatering or giving it too much sunlight. Even if that were the case, it shouldn't have looked like that when it had been delivered last week. The plant's quick downturn shows me that the plant was NOT in good health when it was sold to me by Keri/Plant Party. I reached out this weekend explaining what had happened and asked if Plant Party could make it right. They had rather coldly stated that "Their policy is that they don't do refunds." OK, fine. Then perhaps replace the unhealthy plant that you delivered? Nope. She seemed more deadset on proving to me that SHE was correct and that I was stupid for even trying to reach out about this. After almost 2 days of no responses from their Instagram (they were not answering their phones), she tried to send me a screenshot of my messages with the delivery person proving that I was "happy with the delivery".... I don't live in the city and got a far away picture of the plant and was just happy to see that it had arrived. I didn't see the health of the plant until my friend had posted to her IG story (see below). and then when she checked in with me about what it was supposed to look like a few days ago. Keri cannot handle criticism of any kind and certainly doesn't want to ensure the best customer experience possible. Threatening to file a harassment report against a customer that is clearly upset with the product they received after simply trying to have a conversation on the phone? Childish and immature. Not making their fuck up right? Downright unprofessional and telling of their business character. Blocking the customer on Instagram because you're not happy with their response?? Work on yourself, I guess. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS SPITEFUL BUSINESS OWNER. SHE'LL MAKE YOU REGRET IT IF THERE IS ANYTHING THAT GOES SLIGHTLY WRONG. I hope that Keri gets the help and guidance that she needs because we're all human and sometimes we have bad days, but that doesn't excuse her treatment of me as a customer. Reading her Yelp replies is even more telling as to her character and general unpleasant disposition.

Yelp
This place is pretty sweet. Nice variety in a small location. The staff was very helpful and even potted the plant for free.

Yelp
Plants are extremely overpriced, you can find a lot of the common plants that were charged 58 dollars and more for about 10 dollars at any Walmart or Kroger. Disappointing to see the hike in prices here preying on naive customers who know no better. They did have a cool collection of rarer plants towards the back which the pricing seemed more reasonable considering their rarity. The more common plants such as satin pothos and string of turtles had prices that made me laugh. I came in with an unlimited budget but sadly could not justify. The business owner has tried to justify prices in the replies of other customers, yet these justifications are not sound, and any houseplant enthusiast would know this. Edit: owner does not take accountability and does not take into consideration customer reviews- this is why we have Yelp and as an owner you should be able to handle criticism. I also support local businesses and give deserved 5 stars as you can look back on my reviews :)

Yelp
I wandered in here after Sunday brunch and was so glad I did! It's very tranquil and there's so much to look at. My husband and I just moved into our first home and needed plants to make it more homey. Neither of us know the first thing about plants or how to care for them, but Keri was extremely helpful and patient. She answered all of our dumb questions without judgement. We ended up buying a slew of plants, including a fiddle leaf fig tree, which she potted and delivered to our home that Tuesday. I also really love that she features so many small businesses in there. Several smaller candle companies, jewelry companies, soap companies, etc. It adds such a nice local vibe that we Austinites love. This also makes it a one-stop shop for gift giving. We came back a few days later to purchase a smaller plant for a friend's housewarming gift. I'll definitely be back for one of her classes and for more plants once we get our second floor plant-ready!

Yelp
What a great place for a plant novice like myself. I don't normally buy plants but when I do it is from a local business like this. All my questions and concerns were met with an overwhelming amount of information. The time my plant guru took to educate me on how to maintain, grow and keep my plants alive was so appreciated. I was hot with brutal honesty on what I could manage and the person helping me even kept me in a low to mid range budget. My starry eyes wandered to plants that were going for $60+ but I was able to walk out of there with... 2 small plants Medium bag of soil A jar of local HONEY, yum! A bundle of eucalyptus for my shower (yay!) And a huge smile on my face. Here's to keeping them alive. Go here for all your plant needs!

Yelp
Great service ! Was very kind and patient and made this a very memorable experience for my friends and I. Recommend the plant party very much!

Yelp
Business owners are so sweet and helpful and really know what they are talking about. I wandered in looking for something to brighten up my office space and am so pleased with my healthy happy Lil plant! Found out they do online ordering as well with same day shipping which will come in clutch for holidays and birthdays. Thanks!

Yelp
This weekend, I ordered my partner a terrarium to be delivered to his doorstep. Within a few hours, it was successfully delivered, along with a nice card they had available (seriously, check out their cute card collection!!). It was so beautifully arranged, and all of the succulents inside are healthy and happy! I'm so glad this is an option in Austin, it's a lovely alternative to flower delivery. Great service and beautiful plants. I can't wait to go to their store when I feel safe to explore retailers again! :)

Yelp
Shop is packed with lots of plants - not just succulents and cacti. Lots of beautiful pots to choose from and even some cute gifts in terms of cards and notes to take home. Staff were very nice and will help pot your plant if you want that. Loved the selection and the range of sizes. Great use of space.

Yelp
I love my new birds of paradise plant and beautiful pot from Plant Party! The guy who helped us was super knowledgeable and answered all of our questions about different plants. They even potted the plant for us before we left the store! Great customer service and cute store!

Jayne M.

Yelp
I had a plant sent by a friend and began to die within days of having received it. After many attempts to contact the business and resolve the issue (as the plant was expensive and higher quality was expected) my friend was met with hostility and unprofessionalism by the business. I was really disappointed as this was my first experience with a plant business in Austin, but will be taking future business elsewhere as the quality clearly does not correlate to the cost of the plant. If you need any further proof of the business' unprofessionalism, please see the owner's replies to lower reviews on this yelp page.

Yelp
5 stars for selection. Take a Valium before entering if you get overstimulated by loads of amazing plants. Take another if you don't have a limitless budget. 3 stars for prices. Totally out of reach for the average plant shopper. Even those that turn up their noses at big box. This is definitely a plant shop for hipsters with loads of money to spend. Either put money away for your dogs unexpected surgery OR pop into Plant Party and invest in Instagram worthy greens. If you're into leaf or root porn, this is your shop. EDIT to add response to owner: Hi Keri! Thanks for your response. Please understand that I thought your shop and collection were jaw-dropping. Uh - MAZING!! Definitely worth a visit even if you don't have fat stacks to spend. I am a bit of a plant hoarder and I'm working on sticking to a budget so I can continue to feed my family. I know, it sucks. I've visited nearly all the non-basic, harder to source plant shops in and around Austin and central Texas and your prices for same plants and pots are 2-3xs higher. Ex: I bought a cute pot at one local shop (not big box) for exactly 1/3 the price you're asking. Comparing prices on plants - same deal. Your VSOH in a 2" pot with a single 4 node strand is what I paid for a 4" pot with several trailing strands elsewhere in Austin. But hey, it's your business and you're smack in the middle of gentri-hipsterville. You need to pay the bills and you get to price your plants! It's free to just look, am I right? You cater to a spendy clientele and that's your right! Not hating on your shop. Just keeping the review realistic so people know what they're getting into when they plan a visit.

Yelp
Plant Party delivered a lovely orchid to a friend. Service was easy and very fast. Would definetly order again!

Yelp
The staff has hand sanitizer when you enter and the place is super well kept. They also were wearing masks! I'm so glad I found this place! They have a variety of plants and pots you can purchase from them. Since quarantine I've become keen to being a plant mom, helps to pass the time, and they were super helpful in helping me figure out the best plants for my home. I just moved into a new home and was having a hard figuring out the lightning. I showed Jav (idk if I'm spelling that right) and he helped me pick the best plants!! Kerri is also super knowledgable and extremely helpful. She was putting together hanging pots and was tempted to buy one. This place is also very reasonably priced. They also repot plants for free! And to carry all the plants you buy, they put it into a box for you :) I'll be buying all my plants here! Also tons of free parking around there!

Kathryn C.

Yelp
Hands down the best plant store in Austin. The people who come on here claiming "her plants are way too expensive" are not plant people. Her store is a collector store. She has some of the coolest plants ever. And actually her prices are incredibly reasonable for what she's selling. If you're a REAL plant person you HAVE to visit this store. Plus the owner is so cute and sweet it's really disappointing to me that people are hating because they don't understand the plant market. If you just want cheap plants go to a Home Depot ‍ if you want cool collector plants go to plant party. (They do also have a good selection of regular house plants and cacti and the owner is incredible helpful on care and is available on Instagram) I 100% suggest this store to anyone who loves plants.

Yelp
I have picked up/had delivered approximately a dozen gifts from Plant Party. The selection, customer service, pricing, and ease are all absolutely amazing. I highly recommend their delivery service! And going to the shop itself is always lovely. I can't recommend this local business enough!

Yelp
Save your money and go to Tillery instead, more affordable plants and better selection over there

Yelp
Very cute place with friendly and helpful staff. Came in with a friend to find an pot. They don't have a lot but a good amount of simple ones, cute ones, and even unique interesting looking ones. They also have other random nick nacks as well.

Yelp
Love this place. It's small so you definitely will not get your steps in here! It's packed with lovely healthy plants to purchase. "Jav" (Javier) was very friendly, personable & knowledgeable! They are NOT on the corner, although their sign is, they are the side street (Lydia). Check them out if you are a plant fanatic like me.

Yelp
Signed up on Verlocal for a terrarium making class with a couple of friends. Keri greeted us enthusiastically, offering coffee, pastries, and juice while we waited for everyone else to arrive. The shop is SUPER cute and, before going to the back space for the class, I gained a little bit of inspiration just by looking around! One of my friends forgot that we'd signed up and Keri offered a refund or my friend would be able to stop in another time. After choosing our spots at the tables in the back, we were allowed to choose 2 or 3 succulents and/or cacti. I decided to live dangerously and chose 2 of the former and one of the latter (a REALLY pokey one). As Keri instructed us, she was very patient, offering advice and help when needed. She spent time with everyone, chatting and encouraging. Once the plants were in the base level of soil, it was time to choose sands and decorations! There's a terrarium bar with containers of different colored sands, rocks, and shells, all of which was included in the price of the class. A second area had a few more elaborate items like tiny sea urchin fossils(?) and sparkly things, which cost just a little bit per item/scoop. I'd brought a tiny sea turtle from home, so I opted for a couple of the urchins to go with the "theme" of my terrarium. Upon completion, Keri gave us each boxes in which to put our terrariums for safe travel. So, remember that REALLY pokey cactus I mentioned? Well, my terrarium fell in my car (sand stayed contained in the box, at least) and when I was trying to remedy the whole thing, I accidentally touched it, reflexively drawing my hand back, knocking the whole thing onto the ground, shattering it. None of that was anyone's fault but mine, of course. But, as my friend that attended the class with me said, "I guess I was the only one meant to make a terrarium this weekend." Anyway, I HIGHLY recommend signing up for a class or just going to check out the adorable store front! And watch out for those stupid pokey cacti!

Yelp
Blah blah blah! Your like an annoying old grandma who won't shut up and let it go. I never said because your a women that you couldn't own or run a business not once. And yes we know your the owner unfortunately. I can get my awesome plants else where. Your just a very sad and miserable human being. My dog has more manners then you. YOU ARE WRONG AND YOU KNOW IT. BYE BYE I would like the owner of this store to contact me ASAP!!!!!! I dropped off my plant with a guy on Feb 19th 21 and explained to him that my plant i purchased needed some love. He told Carrie is the one who takes care of all the redos like that. He put my name with the plant and no one EVER bothered to call me. I called numerous times with no call backs since the time i dropped off the plant. So today I went to the store and Carrie was working we walked in and didn't even get a hello how are you doing or anything. So we waited for about 15 minutes while she was finishing up with someone else. So then it was our turn i explained to Carrie that i had dropped off thy my plant 2 months which by the way in her care had no water or sunlight at all for the 2 months it was there she said and quote " sometimes we forget about plants here it happens" that is unacceptable!!!! She then told us to leave the store and would not let me even talk! She is not a normal person nor does she have the proper business etiquette to even apologize to me. I spent $150 dollars on the plant! Some needs to get to touch with me ASAP!!!!! She was so rude and i will never shop here ever again!!!!

Yelp
What a little gem! I was researching on yelp for floral deliveries for my Austin friend (who just had a baby) and most of the floral deliveries seemed generic. I finally found Slavonk and what a great find! They deliver, take out of state payment, and the online experience was seamless. I live in San Francisco where I know exactly which florist or nursery to go to in the city. Since I haven't lived in Ausin for years, I had no idea where to look. Unfortunately for Austin, there are very few places that deliver terraniums. I used the yelp deal and was not disappointed! Kerri was super fast to respond and had the delivery out in less than 18 hours (which is impressive since I was a time zone away). She emailed me an invoice and received payment in as little as 2hrs. The delivery was on its way by the afternoon. So impressive! I highly highly recommend Slavonk. Prob one of the best floral delivery service I've ever had. Easy, affordable, tasteful and friendly. What more can one really ask for? If you're even debating it- don't! Just do it. You won't regret!
google avatar

Yelp
The owners go out of their way to deliver incredible service. I'm a new plant Momma and I felt so comfortable asking questions about the care of each plant. The selection is great and the price is on point. Lovely experience.

Sabrina R.

Yelp
Such a cute find! This place is small but has some unique finds. The staff was super engaging and talked to us about the shop and the art.

Meredith F.

Yelp
Not impressed. Firstly, they don't have succulents, so they need to update this so they don't come up on a search. Waste of my time! I went in to get a birthday arrangement of a succulent garden. They said I would have to bring my own pot (they did not have the size pot I wanted) and I asked for an estimate. They told me to go to the website and look and order there. Then said it would be a $90 design fee if I brought my own pot. The other customers were equally unimpressed with the service as I ran into them at East Austin Succulents where they made it on the spot and only charged $15. Oh, and when someone drives 45 minutes to come IN to your store in the middle of a pandemic (first time I have been in a store since last year for something other than essentials) to buy their best friend a big beautiful floral designed arrangement for her 50th birthday, you don't shoo them away to your website. Hard. Pass.

Yelp
I love this little plant shop. It's like a rain-forest! A very clean, well-curated rain-forest :) The owner is super nice and helpful. She's stocked her place not only with plants but also the cutest unique assortment of gifts: Jewelry, bath products, cards, etc. It's a joy shopping here.

Yelp
Super cute shop with an awesome staff! Our terrarium-building party was so much fun.

Carmela S.

Yelp
What an awesome concept and a well appointed store front! The staff is super friendly and helpful. They have on-line ordering so instead of ordering flower arrangements that will die you can give someone a lasting terrarium. Such a neat idea and they are beautiful. For delivery you can choose enclosed terrariums or succulents. They also have a make your own terrarium bar inside their store and offer classes which are themed. I recently saw one on Facebook that was a Starwars themed class....how cool is that? The pricing is amazing for the quality of succulents you receive and they last for a long time as long as you take care of them properly. Don't worry if you don't have a green thumb because they take minimal effort to maintain. They were super generous with a terrarium and two class passes for a fundraiser that I attended! Nice to see Austin helping Austin! This is a awesome Austin local shop that is definitely worth popping in to see what they are all about or sign up for a class and feel proud of your DIY skills!

Carolyn K.

Yelp
Ordered a gift for our friends who just moved to Austin. Loved the card selections. The ordering process was easy and Plant Party delivered same day! Our friends absolutely loved the "tres amigos" cacti

Yelp
This was SO MUCH FUN! I took my fiancé for his bday and we had a blast! The owner *Carrie? Is so so sweet and did a great job helping us create the looks we wanted. We will definitely be repeat customers- we absolutely loved it!

Yelp
So I was randomly talking about how I needed something on my desk at my new job and thought hmmm succulents would be great! Low and behold I was scrolling through Facebook that day and a little advertisement for a "build your own terrarium" place came up on my feed. Needless to say, I signed up for it instantly. I came in today for my class and everything was absolutely WONDERFUL! I walked in this morning and Keri instantly introduced herself. She had pastries and coffee waiting for us. She had a great little set up in the back for us to create our own terrariums. There were so many different options when it came to the succulents and it was way too hard for me to choose my 3 plants! She also provided different colored sand, shells, crystals, and broken glass for us to really make them our own. Keri was patient and walked us through each step of building our terrariums, helping each of us along the way. I'm absolutely in love with my terrarium and I'm dying to go back and create another!! I highly recommend going to visit Keri if you're looking for a fun activity or even if you're just looking for a terrarium that's ready to buy!
google avatar

Linda W.

Yelp
I have had the pleasure of knowing Keri since she started her business. I am so proud of the growth Slavonk and Hortus has seen these past couple of years! No one is more deserving! Keri's terrariums and arrangements are THE BEST! They are unique and beautiful. They make wonderful gifts for any occasion - I have given them as thank you's, mother's day, housewarming, and anniversary gifts. The customer service is exceptional. Keri is extremely helpful and knowledgeable about her products. I call her my "earth mama"! She just makes things bloom! She can help you customize your terrarium to fit your purpose, taste, budget. More than once she has saved the day by preparing last minute orders for me. And afterwards, she has been available if I had questions about how to care for my terrarium. I have repeatedly recommended Slavonk and Hortus Terraria to my family, friends, and co-workers. The designs are gorgeous and the service is stellar, and Keri is always coming up with something new! I can't wait to get my next terrarium. This one, I am going to keep for myself!
google avatar

Vijay M.

Yelp
Great spot for a date or to zone out for a few hours and play with plants. Keri is so sweet and very helpful and helped us create beautiful succulent gardens!
google avatar

Brad B.

Yelp
Keri did an excellent job designing our terrarium. She did not carry the style of terrarium that my wife wanted, so I found one online and brought it to her to fill with the plants that I liked. It is very lovely. You will enjoy working with Keri to get what you want.

Jenna M.

Yelp
Has some nice less common plants, but everything is EXTREMELY expensive, even the common plants. I've been in houseplants for years and have never seen prices like these. Lowest price I saw was $58- for a 2 inch hoya pubicalyx.

Susan Q.

Yelp
I have had so many amazing interactions with Plant Party and just realized I've never told the internet about them which is unconscionable. I've done multiple actual plant parties (terrarium builds) pre-COVID which are also THE MOST fun. Since COVID, I've sent plants a few times and each time Keri has gone above and beyond to provide a great experience. Once, I accidentally picked the wrong type of shipping (local instead of national), but she just went ahead and shipped without charging me which was unnecessary but such a great example of how they treat their customers. Just now, Keri texted me because I had ordered a plant to be sent to my friend in the midwest and had accidentally selected a Thank You card instead of a Thinking of You card when the message was clearly not a Thank You sentiment. I was planning to just text my friend when she got the plant to say whoops, but Keri caught it and wanted to make sure I got the right kind of card for the order, which is SO above and beyond what I would expect from any business. I truly cannot say enough nice things about this place and Keri! They ship nationally, they do an amazing job, and everyone is alway fully delighted by what you send. Send someone you love a plant!

La Reina R.

Yelp
Keri was incredible. I called on a Saturday afternoon from Los Angeles looking for a way to express my condolences to a friend who lives in Austin and recently lost a pet. I wanted something beautiful and unique that would last a long time. Not only did Keri get it made and delivered within just a few hours, but it was also absolutely gorgeous, exactly what I was looking for. Keri was professional and kind, cannot recommend her and her work highly enough!

Yelp
This place is amazing! I brought my three kids in to have a look and asked them not to touch anything( lots of breakable items). The owner Keri overheard and reassured me it was alright and told my kids to feel free to explore and touch everything! I work weekends and only available during the week so she set up a private workshop for my kids on a Wednesday night! It lasted about 1.5 hrs and she explained everything with more than enough plant, sand, figurine and jewel/glass options. Juice was served in adorable hand painted fish mugs! My kids Love doing things themselves and expressing their own creativity. They learned about different plants as well! I'll be going back to mail one to my niece in NY! Thanks for a fun and unique time Keri!

Yelp
This was a great little store with knowledgeable staff and some interesting plants! I was looking for a few smaller plants to go around the house and wanted something different than the usual selection from big box stores. I found several great plants and a cute planter to go with one. I will keep an eye on the online store to see their selection of some larger plants too for delivery!

Yelp
There is no way these prices are real if you want to pay extra for the same quality, take your own loss and go here. I'd have to recommend you pick somewhere like the great outdoors or Tillery street if you are looking for something that isn't extremely rare. Plants that would run you $15-$25 dollars at either one of those nurseries will seriously set you back $60-$90 at this place! I saw a 6" satin pothos in a pot online for $92.00. Even with this being a slightly rarer plant and the pot being nice this shouldn't be more than $60 max and that's MAX, even on Etsy where things are typically violently overpriced no scindapsus at that size should run you anything near what would come out to $100 with tax, I definitely would only recommend this place if you are looking for something very specific and rare. Atmosphere is nice and plants online come with decent pottery it's just such a ridiculous margin in price as compared to other nurseries in the area that I couldn't help but say something. Good selection on rare plants tho and they seem to be priced accordingly :p

Yelp
My mother has a great green thumb, and I knew that she would love a terrarium. I decided to buy one for her for Christmas, but did not want to buy such a delicate gift in California, and fly it with me on an airplane to Texas. I decided to wait until arriving in Austin and to look for one locally. I wasn't sure where to start in my search for the perfect terrarium gift, so I Yelped "terrarium" in the Austin area. I was excited to see Slavonk & Hortus as one of the first links to appear. I was intrigued by Keri's story, and I liked everything I read on her website. I learned that she used to be a barista at a local coffee shop and sold her terraria there, and also worked for a florist. With the help of family, she was able to go out on her own and start her local business, which helps to support her and her adorable son. The Austin community is lucky that she did! What a little gem this place is! The shop is closed on Mondays, so I called on the Tuesday before Christmas Eve, to be sure the shop would be open. She told me they were opening at noon, so I made the drive all the way down from the Cedar Park area to the S&H shop down off Slaughter and I35. It was worth the drive. Keri had warned me that the selection in the shop would be limited because they had sold so many terraria for the holidays, but she said that she could make me anything I wanted once I arrived in the store. I selected a medium table-top piece of glassware with a flat bottom, and Keri helped me to fill it with soil, sand and succulents. For a color theme, we chose bright red pebbles, black-and-white zebra snail shells, and glossy green cats-eye stones. It was perfection, and custom-designed. I couldn't be happier! This particular terrarium was a hundred times better than any ready-made ones, because this one was designed specially for the colors in my mother's kitchen. I'll post a picture so you can see Keri's impeccable work. Keri can do the same for any customer: just to tell her the color scheme or the character theme you'd like, and she will work her magic and give you the terrarium of your dreams. Additional tips: --For some reason, the Yelp address will take you to north Austin. This is incorrect. Instead, put the shop's address on Google Maps, and you will make it there! From north Austin, I took !-35 south, exited Slaughter west, and then went south on Manchaca. --Have an idea of the shape, color scheme, and level of plant care that you're looking for. The more specific you can be with Keri, the better your terrarium will turn out. --Check in on Yelp once you're ready to pay, for 25% off! That is no small savings, my friend! The Yelp coupon is only available in-store, not for phone orders or delivery. --Keri has an an incredible assortment of glassware, so get creative! The coolest thing I saw was a lightbulb! Yes, Keri can even make a terrarium from a lightbulb! --You're going to fall in love with Keri's work. Be prepared to buy your gifts, but treat yourself too! --The website says that S&H terraria are available at Whole Foods, but if you can make it to the actual shop, I encourage you to do so! You'll get a chance to meet Keri, who is kind and genuinely interested in her clients' satisfaction, you can also ask for a custom-designed terrarium, and you'll feel great about supporting this small local business!

Yelp
Keri provided a gorgeous terrarium for my new office, which has low upkeep (good for me as my thumb is not so green). She was very helpful and gave useful instructions on what lighting the terrarium needs and how often to water it. Her terrariums are beautiful and would make a unique gift. I've had the terrarium for 7 months and all plants are still alive, a feat for someone like myself not born with a green thumb. Will have to check out the new location soon!

Yelp
Keri is an amazing woman. She is patient and kind - from two minutes of talking with her you can understand why plants bloom around her. She explained ((several times)) in detail with such patience how I was to take care of my air plant. I was so scared because I don't have a green thumb. When I got my plant home we had a little accident and I immediately messaged her. I was distraught!! She calmed me down and reassured me everything was going to be okay.
