This resort gives a new meaning to “Fiji time”. Plenty of staff, just no apparent direction. Takes 40minutes to make a restaurant booking. 24 hours to get a hand towel replaced. If at all. Ran out of water.. All in all just really inconsistent. Some of our 10 rooms had new water and towels when being serviced. Others had neither. Weird. Good portions of food, one day is decent. Next 25% of the size. It seems the resort has a “say no” policy first rather than say yes with a smile. Compared to the other places we’ve stayed in Fiji, would be the least friendly. The kids had a good time, however they had just as good at other resorts. If you have options, try the other before here.

Very family friendly - lots for kids to do. Food and drinks are quite pricey here - so come with snacks and easy meals if you can to alleviate some of the food cost especially during the day. I enjoyed the Copra breakfast buffet. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Lots to do here, my children enjoyed swimming, I enjoyed the kayaks! Rooms are simple but clean. My kids really loved it here. I would come back

We stayed at Plantation Island with my son (13) and parents in April 2025. It is a great location for families and I'd describe it as a Big4 Camping experience. The accommodation is varied, and I think we were in an older part of the resort. The room was comfortable, but looking tired in places with dirty ceilings in the bathroom due to poor ventilation and dirty fans. But overall relatively clean elsewhere. The food was buffet to al-a-carte. The service at the Tavolo restaurant was exceptionally slow, waiting over 40 minutes for breakfast and dinner to come out. Staff were friendly enough, but it had a camp ground staff and not high end resort feel to it all. Great place for young kids with lots of safe water activities etc to do. There is a bit of construction going on which detracts from the relaxing atmosphere if you want a quiet beach holiday with good views - you'll get a bit of hammer and saw noise in the background! We also found that the meal plan was expensive compared to just eating off the menu - might be better value if your kids are of the age to eat free. Overall, a great place to visit for families and if you are the sort of family that would have fun and be comfortable staying in a cabin at a Big4 campground in Australia, then this is probably fine for you. If you are looking for a 5 star resort experience, then this is not for you.

Spectacular location and good activities but not enough equipment for the number of guests. Rooms spacious but tired. Black Coral great food, poor location on complex. Coffee bar is good. Rest of food very average. Staff mostly friendly and try to be helpful. Pricey relative to other international locations.

Perfect family holiday destination. The location is like a piece of heaven, water front and endless activities in and out of the crystal clear water. The inflatable water park; snorkeling; kayaking; cultural activities; plentiful dining options to suit all budgets; friendly and genuine staff. . . We’re all highlights for us. For a family with teens and kids this was the perfect getaway.

Our second stay on Plantation Island. Loved it all over again. A great Fijian experience, amazing location, lots of activities for all ages, great snorkelling. More than just a tropical resort. A special shout out to all the staff who really are what makes the difference.

We had 5 days in Plantation Island and it was an incredible experience. The resort is very family friendly and the staff are so welcoming. Very special shout out to Callie from the boat shed who went above and beyond to make our stay incredible!!! Location and ocean are spectacular. Water sports are plentiful. Food was okay. Night entertainment was okay (very catered to kids but nothing really after 9pm). Kids club was fun! Definitely recommend.

This was one of the most frustrating and underwhelming resort experiences I’ve had, especially compared to other nearby islands in Fiji.||Let’s start with the dining situation. Restaurants must be booked at least three days in advance, or you're out of luck. No flexibility, no walk-ins — just buffet. And the buffet? Bland, overpriced, and bare minimum cafeteria quality. Drinks aren’t even served unless you chase someone down, and even then, expect long waits for something as basic as ketchup. The staff is clearly stretched thin, and it shows.||The overall service and morale are low. Employees seem unhappy and disengaged, and compared to other resorts (like Musket Cove next door), the difference in energy and hospitality is stark. Service here is reactive — if you don’t ask, you don’t get. No one checks on you, asks how you’re doing, or offers assistance unless you initiate it.||Currency exchange is not readily available. It’s only available when they have the right currency, at their convenience (depending on when guests come in)— not yours. For a resort that hosts international guests, this was a major inconvenience.||The shops on the grounds are mediocre at best. Low-quality toys, overpriced clothing, and the kicker? They’re run by separate vendors, so you can’t charge anything to your room — everything is separate payments. Unorganized and outdated.||Back to the food — not only is it overpriced and mediocre, but there’s zero flexibility. Want to swap fries for another salad? Too bad. They won’t accommodate even the simplest dietary requests or preferences. Not ideal for picky or healthier eaters.||Housekeeping? Every three days. So yes, you’ll basically be managing your own space for the most part. And the rooms? Dated, poorly ventilated, with thin walls. We smelled fires from the island for days. Hard beds, just a sheet and a thin quilt — definitely not the comfort you'd expect on vacation.||And let’s talk groundskeeping — the property is not well-maintained. Compared to its neighbor Musket Cove, Plantation feels neglected, less lush, and not nearly as clean or cared for.||Bottom line: the beach is pretty— but that’s where the magic ends. If you value service, comfort, and quality, this place will likely disappoint. I wouldn’t return, and I wouldn’t recommend it unless you’re prepared to micromanage every aspect of your “relaxing” vacation.
