Plas Coch is as good an option as any other B&B in NorthWales. If you read my last review and I suggested you stay in a B&B and catch the early snowdon train. Well this guest house is 15 minute walk away from Llanberis station. Excellent!!!!
Once a mid 19th century stone built mansion, today Plas Coch is a 4* guest house with 8 nice en-suite rooms. The location is great, with several places to eat nearby in Llanberis Village. The food options at the guest house aren't bad either. I would recommend their fish dishes which are always available, these include smoked haddock, smoked salmon with scrambled eggs, and Manx kippers. For you vegans there is a good selection of vegetarian items. The food is sourced locally as you would expect with the bread from local Morris Bros Bakers, which was fantastic by the way.
Now don't get put off by what I am about to say but I love this place for it is rather gothic ghostly feel. I mean, lets face it, you are in the middle of nowhere in this rustic really really old stone country house. Perfect for watching a few old horror movies mind you, oh yes. (Did I ever mention in passing I lvoe horror movies? No? Well now you know) Unfortunately I can categorically report there are no ghosts here and no paranormal activity was noticed.(Dissappointed sigh) Although I dare you to watch that film while staying here!!!
Plas coch might have a rather unfortunate name but don't let that put you off, this is a great B&B for when you visit North Wales. "Plas" you won't be needing an alarm clock as no doubt the local"Coch" will wake you up at the break of dawn!!
