Just popped in on chance for dinner. 4 adults and a dog. From the moment we arrived we were met with the most authentic welcome and top class service we have ever received. ‘Dan the man’ is the general manager and he treated us like long lost friends or family! Such a friendly and warm welcome. Not rushed at all and the food is quality! Excellent prices too. Highly recommend for the service, ambiance and food. The whole team were amazing

What a lovely hotel. Comfortable rooms. Great location. Delicious food (both for breakfast and when dining). Best of all though, are the fantastic staff. So friendly and helpful. They really made sure we had a brilliant stay.

Only called in for drinks while our return train trip up the lake. Welcomed by two of the nicest guys (staff member) who made us feel really welcome. Very clean. Food was gorgeous. Nice to see them buying locally sourced foods & beers too. 100% cracked it. Well done to the owners & to your lovely staff. 👍👍👍

Went for Sunday lunch. The reception was welcoming and friendly, the restaurant was cozy and comfortable and all of the staff were excellent. The food was delicious. There are cheaper Sunday lunches available, but this was definitely worth the money. The only negative I have was the cinnamon in the cauliflower cheese which tended to overpower the other delicious flavours. Will definitely visit again.

We had a really lovely meal at Plas Yn Dre. The fish and chips were perfectly done – crisp batter and fresh fish – and the leg of lamb dish was full of flavour. The standout, though, was the side dish with cauliflower mixed with cream – absolutely delicious and something a bit different. The atmosphere was welcoming, and the staff were friendly throughout. It’s not the cheapest place, but the quality of the food makes it well worth it.

Definitely one of the better places to take the family to eat in Bala. Really attentive staff... the building extends out to the back... looks great and good decor. No reservation for dinner. We just turned up and they accommodated the family. Food was fantastic I had the Poke bowl and duck fritters that were extremely tasty. Small kids menus. Take the family here!

We ate here 4 times during a recent camping holiday to Bala. The staff are all friendly and chatty. The new manager is superb and leads by example and shows the way. The food was excellent on all four visits, minimum we had was a table of 3 and dog and maximum was 6 and dog. Great location, has parking.||Only observation would be that last year they had Sticky Toffee Pudding on the menu and it was fabulous. What has happened, it's not on the menu anymore. The desserts are a little samey and monotonous and once you've eaten twice, we didn't tend to have dessert.||BRING BACK STICKY TOFFEE PUDDING||Thoroughly recommended. Great location, mid to upper range but good value for money, good tasting food and great friendly staff.||Hope the review is helpful.||Stuart

We went here as a group of 12 people for our evening meal before white water rafting the next day. The service and food was top notch with them keeping the bar open late just for us. We had to pre-order the food, which made everything easier.

Yelp
Big place, good ambiance. Service is friendly but a bit slow. Tomato soup was just okay. Asparagus in asparagus appetizer was light green and a bit bland. Sea bass and pea risotto were both good. Decent place to get fed but not exceptional.

Yelp
plas yn dre is appauling, i was on my way back from holiday with my my disabled partner and our two children when we were looking for somewhere to have some food, we saw this place and thought it looked welcoming and i went in first with our 5 year old son and went to use the toilets befour we sat down to eat, half way up the stairs where toilet signs were an older woman came out of the bar area fag in hand shouting excuse me what are you doing straight away i said we are just about to to eat here, im just taking him to the toilet first she then shouting agressively this is'nt a public toilet, your so rude i was taken back at how rude she was, then once again i tried to say we are about to get a table here just using the loo first, she did't even let me finish speaking before again saying i was rude, she was so outragous to us at this point my partner was in the doorway looking confused she then turned and practically pushed him out the door with our 3 year old daughter, i walked down the stairs with our son towards the door with her giving me abuse infront of my confussed family then pushed the door behind us as if i had done something wrong, this made me so cross we only wanted to use the toilet before we sat down and i would never expect my disalbed partner and children to be treated like this, i am a nurse and am not rude, i spend my time saving lives.
