Where to Stay in Tokyo When You Visit in 2025

"Bathed in a lot of wood and giving a very homey feel, this property (noted as conveniently located across from Akasaka Station) offers private and semi-private rooms as well as large 12-person dorms and a 12-person female-only dorm with semi-private pods that have lights and outlets." - Matthew Kepnes

The receptionist was very friendly, flexible, and easygoing, and spoke English, which was a huge help since I don’t speak Japanese. The hostel has everything you need: coin laundry, shared kitchen, clean bathrooms and toilets. All the facilities were in great condition and well-maintained. You can even borrow umbrellas at the front desk. Amenities were complete too, such as towels, hotel slippers, soap, shampoo, conditioner, mini fridge, AC, air humidifier, hangers, and there’s even a rooftop terrace with a direct view of Tokyo Skytree. The location is excellent, just a short walk from Asakusa Station, which connects directly to the Haneda Airport line, super convenient if you’re carrying big luggage. There are also plenty of convenience stores nearby, like 7-Eleven, Lawson 100 Yen, and Kitchen Origin. The place itself is very quiet and peaceful, making it perfect for rest.

We loved our stay in plat hostel. Everything was perfect. Clean rooms /toilets, everything you need in a kitchen to cook, super kind staff and an amazing view from the rooftop. Would definitely recommend.

Very nice place to stay near Asakusa! We are here with 3 people and the room is nice and neat. It's small but I think that's same everywhere in Japan. And the owner can speak Korean a little too, which may be helpful for Koreans

The best thing about this place is the staff; they are so lovely! Even though I don't speak much English, they were always very kind and chatted with me and my sister. Shin is very attentive and charismatic! The rooms are larger than other places I stayed at in Japan, everything is very clean, and the location is amazing! A big thank you to the staff for making the stay so much more comfortable!

The hotel is good, tasty, and the staff is friendly. The rooftop view is beautiful to see the SkyTree Tower. The price is quite cheap for solo travelers. The BunkBed room is also spacious, so you don't have to worry about opening your suitcase or praying (Muslim Traveler). If I go to Tokyo again, I will definitely book a room here!

This hostel was my first ever, and it was a beautiful experience. The staff was incredibly kind and helpful, from check-in to local recommendations, making me feel truly welcome. The place was clean, quiet, and had a great energy. The beds were super comfortable, and waking up to beautiful mornings made it hard to leave. I was sad to go and even tried to rebook for my final days in Japan, but it was already full. Can't wait to stay here again next time!
