Where to Stay in Tokyo When You Visit in 2025

"Bathed in a lot of wood and giving a very homey feel, this property (noted as conveniently located across from Akasaka Station) offers private and semi-private rooms as well as large 12-person dorms and a 12-person female-only dorm with semi-private pods that have lights and outlets." - Matthew Kepnes

This is a friendly, affordable, clean hostel with budget facilities at the high quality you expect in Japan. The location is good, staff are nice. Toothbrushes provided. Only downside is the (four-person family) room we had was stuffy at night with limited air circulation. Also a little cramped ... but we mainly were using it just as a base to sleep and rest so that was ok. There is a small shared kitchen and hang out room at the front but it's pretty basic. Carrying cases up the very steep and narrow stairs was ok for us but might be challenging for some.

The receptionist was very friendly, flexible, and easygoing, and spoke English, which was a huge help since I don’t speak Japanese. The hostel has everything you need: coin laundry, shared kitchen, clean bathrooms and toilets. All the facilities were in great condition and well-maintained. You can even borrow umbrellas at the front desk. Amenities were complete too, such as towels, hotel slippers, soap, shampoo, conditioner, mini fridge, AC, air humidifier, hangers, and there’s even a rooftop terrace with a direct view of Tokyo Skytree. The location is excellent, just a short walk from Asakusa Station, which connects directly to the Haneda Airport line, super convenient if you’re carrying big luggage. There are also plenty of convenience stores nearby, like 7-Eleven, Lawson 100 Yen, and Kitchen Origin. The place itself is very quiet and peaceful, making it perfect for rest.

Ideal for solo or group travelers. Walking distance to Skytree and Senso-Ji temple. Asakusa station also within walking distance. Staff are very friendly and speak excellent English. Rooms are tidy and good facilities.

Very nice place to stay near Asakusa! We are here with 3 people and the room is nice and neat. It's small but I think that's same everywhere in Japan. And the owner can speak Korean a little too, which may be helpful for Koreans

The best thing about this place is the staff; they are so lovely! Even though I don't speak much English, they were always very kind and chatted with me and my sister. Shin is very attentive and charismatic! The rooms are larger than other places I stayed at in Japan, everything is very clean, and the location is amazing! A big thank you to the staff for making the stay so much more comfortable!
