Plataran Borobudur Resort & Spa

Plataran Borobudur Resort & Spa is a beautiful luxury hotel nestled amongst greenery and away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre. The warmth and hospitality of the staff is top notch and genuine. The staff, be it hotel lobby, restaurant or housekeeping, are very friendly and always greet with a smile. A WhatsApp chat group is set up with you upon check in, and the staff are very responsive to queries or requests. ||The villas are extraordinarily spacious and comfortable. If travelling with the elderly, or anyone with mobility difficulty - there are several stairs to navigate before reaching the villas. Within the resort compound itself, the paths can be steep, but there are complimentary buggies to ferry you around, so no issue there. Food at all their restaurants is amazing. Dining at the Tiga Dari with a view of Borobudur and Mount Merapi is a wonderful experience. Signed up for the VIP Borobudur tour, well worth it with the private guide who provides the historical context. ||Highly recommend this hotel!

I have just returned from three nights spent at Plantaran Borobudur Resort and Spa. The location of the hotel and the views from it towards Borobudur Temple are beautiful and the restaurants were great. But what has really stood out for me, is the quality of the service. I don’t think I have ever experienced so many kind, attentive and professional staff and management, from the front desk to the restaurants and room service. I am truly grateful for them for making our stay even more memorable.

This hotel is a marvel, and the villas are beautiful. The construction of the bedroom/bathroom suites is traditional and our private villa was very spacious with a separate living/dining room with glass walls all around. A lovely terrace with a private pool all surrounded by a charming garden completed our accommodation and the view of Borobudur (and on clear days, Mount Merapi) was such a privilege.||Throughout our six-day stay, the exceptional feature - apart from that view of Borobudur - was the service. Nothing was too much trouble for our hosts and we were thoroughly spoilt by management, housekeeping and all the restaurant staff. ||The main restaurant at the resort is Tiga Dari and the view from the balcony there is breathtaking. The menu features a wide range of Indonesian and western dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner. A great spot for sunrise and sunset.||The hotel is perfectly situated for visits to Borobudur of course, but also very well placed for visits to Prambanan, the other world heritage site in the area, and also Yogyakarta. ||Sister establishments of the resort are the Heritage Hotel just a minute or two down the hillside, and Enam Langit about 25 minutes away by the free hotel shuttle high in the Menorah Hills with astounding views of the seven mountains surrounding Borobudur, both benefiting from the same high levels of service. Enam Langit really specialises in the sunrise and sunset experience; you really have to do one of those while at the Plataran if you can.||Highly recommended!

The venue has a good range of facilities with multiple bar and dining options. The quality of customer service was outstanding. Everyone was very friendly and went out of their way to ensure we were looked after. ||Our modern pool villa was very spacious and private. The platform bed might present a challenge to older guests!||It was a bit noisy due to festivities at the nearby village but it was Indonesian Independence Day weekend. ||The hotel arranged a very good tour to Borobudur.

I stayed at Plataran Borobudur for four nights, and from start to finish it was an unforgettable experience. The service was exceptional — the staff went out of their way to make us feel truly special. I have rarely encountered such warm, genuinely friendly hospitality.||Our home during the stay, the Founders Home, offered a beautiful view of Borobudur, which felt magical at any time of the day. The hotel also offers a wide range of fun and interesting activities, adding even more to the experience. The massages at the spa were also of outstanding quality. ||The value for money is beyond excellent; in fact, it may well be the best I have ever experienced at any hotel.||Highly recommended in every possible way.

Best hotel resort at Magelang. We stayed here for 1 night and had most excellent experience. I would highly recommend Plataran Heritage Yogyakarta for anyone looking for an exceptional hotel experience! Thankyou to the entire team for making our stay so memorable!. We will be back!

This is a special spot with an amazing view! Getting there might take a bit of effort, but trust me, it’s totally worth it when you arrive. The menu is fantastic, and you can really see the creativity of the management shine through. Enjoy your visit!

This is a lovely hotel, not too busy when we were there. The staff were so helpful - nothing was too much trouble for them. The room was spacious and had all amenities you could want. Instead of chocolates on your pillow after turn down we were treated to four individually made sweets from the kitchens that added that personal touch. Also don't miss the afternoon tea in the rooftop bar where you can watch the sun go down behind the Menorah hills. We dined in both restaurants and found the meals to be well presented and very flavoursome. Staff were always willing to recommend plates and suggest spice levels!
