We visited Plataran as a group of five and stayed in a beautiful private 3-bedroom villa. From the moment we arrived, everything felt so serene and welcoming. The villa was spacious, comfortable, and offered a stunning view that made us feel completely at peace—it truly felt like a little slice of paradise. The food was absolutely delicious—every meal was prepared with so much care and flavor, we enjoyed every bite. The service was outstanding; the staff were so kind, attentive, and always ready to help with a smile. Their warmth and professionalism really made our stay extra special. What made the experience even more magical was being surrounded by nature. We saw monkeys, graceful deer, and so many beautiful butterflies right around the property—it felt like stepping into a natural wonderland. We also went snorkeling, and the ocean was incredible: vibrant coral reefs and colorful fish that left us in awe. This place gave us the perfect balance of luxury, comfort, adventure, and tranquility. I can’t recommend Plataran enough, and I’m already looking forward to coming back again. Peaceful Escape in the Heart of Nature We had a truly memorable stay at Plataran Menjangan. The resort is set in the middle of West Bali National Park, and the natural surroundings are absolutely stunning—lush greenery, calm waters, and wildlife all around. We regularly saw deer wandering the grounds, monkeys in the trees, and a wide variety of birds. It felt like nature was always just a few steps away. The food was a standout—fresh, flavorful, and consistently well-prepared. Every meal felt thoughtful without being overdone, and the setting made dining even more enjoyable. The property itself is very well maintained. Everything—from the villas to the common areas—was clean, comfortable, and clearly cared for with attention to detail. It strikes a nice balance between luxury and a connection to the natural environment. The staff were one of the highlights of our stay. Everyone we interacted with was warm, helpful, and professional. They went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed, without being overbearing. There is incredible scuba diving and snorkeling sites within a very short boat ride that picks you up directly from the jetty dock of the hotel. Healthy, colorful coral and diverse ocean life. If you’re looking for a peaceful, nature-forward getaway that still delivers on comfort and quality, Plataran Menjangan is a fantastic choice.

For a totally different experience of Bali, I would highly recommend Plataran Menjangan. Hidden away in Bali’s only national park, this beautiful resort showcases the regions natural wonders. Snorkel over coral reefs either side of the private jetty, kayak around the bay, walk around the resort and spot native deer, monkeys (that haven’t yet learned how to steal bags), shy geckos, large snails, native woodpeckers and other birds. The resort has a breeding program for the endangered Bali Starling - a striking white bird with vivid blue eyeliner! The staff are incredible, the food is amazing, our room overlooking the mangroves was palatial - the experience is unforgettable. I hope and pray the programs to preserve Bali’s fragile nature continue well into the future.

Absolutely incredible resort! Located in the nature preserve, we were shocked with the symbiotic relationship the hotel had with the animals. There were no unnatural feedings or forced animal interactions, and all the animals felt safe grazing or walking right next to your villa. We experienced a full on “monkey meeting” right outside our room with a gang of 30! *note - listen to staff on the monkey precautions bc they will try to break into your room and steal things 🐒 Nice beach to relax and enjoy the sun but can’t really swim (lots of coral/rocks). Also was surprised with the amount of trash on the beaches and in the water (no fault of the hotel, they are very good about picking up litter but learned the locals don’t care as much). They have an incredible tower to watch the sunrise when the weather is nice. And we also very much enjoyed the infinity pool. Breakfast was really good (unfortunately I had to keep it light bc I was recovering from Bali belly, but staff was very accommodating to my dietary requests), highly recommend the avocado toast!

I had an unforgettable stay at Plataran Menjangan Resort. The location is absolutely stunning—right in the heart of West Bali National Park, surrounded by lush nature and peaceful wildlife. The villas are beautifully designed, combining comfort with traditional charm. The staff were incredibly warm and attentive, always going the extra mile to make us feel welcome. I especially loved the sunrise view and the opportunity to see deer walking freely near the villas. Truly a perfect escape for nature lovers looking for tranquility and luxury. I can’t wait to come back!

Love this place. Very tranquil and found lots of deer and monkeys. Appreciate that they save starlings birds from extinction. The crew gave 110% for their services. Shout out to Pak Putu and Pak Dharma for their services. Bring ocean wears here. Take scuba diving if u r certified, or snorkeling if u r not.

This might’ve been the best stay of our lives to date. The ocean mangrove villa was stunning, the staff were all personable and very friendly, and we loved the lady serving us at breakfast who helped us get spicier and spicier serves of nasi goreng each morning. The villa was spectacular. We have no words and the aircon was a lovely respite from the heat of Bali! It was quiet, far away from the hustle and bustle of Bali and is genuinely a retreat from the chaos of urban living. Having deer, monkeys and the little geckos run right up to you was also spectacular, as was watching the sunrise from your villa every morning. We loved that you could just use WhatsApp to order food, arrange for the activities and basically anything you needed at all hours. The service from Yuri and the team was exceptional! We went snorkeling at the jetty (note, the site is a little dead), kayaking over to the other side of the island, did a lovely forest walk with Adi (who was so patient with me even though I fell and cut my knee literally 30 seconds into the walk), and were so relaxed after a day we missed the other sessions. Their breakfast (included), afternoon tea (included) and dinner was all fantastic from the restaurant, and we put on a few kilos from all the eating and how spoiled we were with the food. The snorkeling experience at Menjangan island was beautiful - so much so that we went twice! Each trip, you get to see two spots around the island. We did blue corner and anchor the first trip, and coral forest and mangrove the second trip. We had two lovely men named Gede taking our group through on our second trip which made it so memorable, and the visibility at the mangrove site was crystal clear down to 8-10 meters. In all my years snorkeling and diving, I’ve never seen anything like the aquarium-like water at this site!

It’s a loooong drive from Denpasar but if you want a quieter Bali experience this is the place to go. The resort is inside a national park where deer and monkeys can be seen wandering around the premises. The rooms are stand alone cottages with all the amenities you expect from a high end hotel room. No loud partying here; but you can go snorkeling, diving, hiking, or simply lounge by the pool. Food is good, service is excellent, and the Balinese wine (Hatten Wines) was a pleasant surprise.
