26 Most Beautiful Beaches in the World

"Set on a narrow wisp of land in northern Formentera, Platja de Ses Illetes offers a gleaming gold shore flanked by turquoise shallows on both sides; nature-preserve status helps keep crowds in check, and a half-hour stroll north along the headland brings views toward S'Espalmador and even more secluded beaches." - Anne Olivia Bauso Anne Olivia Bauso Anne Olivia Bauso is a travel writer and hotel expert based in New York City. I Visited Formentera, the Most Sustainable of Spain's Balearic Islands — Here's What It Was Like

"A stunning, mile-long stretch of beach celebrated for its clear, crystalline waters and scenic sands; a highlight of the coastline that is easily reached by bike and emblematic of the island’s prized seaside quality protected in part by Posidonia seagrass meadows." - Michaela Trimble Michaela Trimble Michaela Trimble is a journalist and photographer based in Mexico City. I've never seen a beach like this before! The water is a stunning turquoise blue — absolutely beautiful. So peaceful and quiet. Just lying down and doing nothing is the best way to enjoy it. Truly amazing. You must visit this place!

It was a very cute beach just to stop in for an hour in the afternoon. You’re good to swim around in the reefs. There’s no immediate danger. The wreaths are safe to step on, and there is a little trash, but not too much The people are very friendly as well

Busy beach. Would advise walking right down to the end or sitting on the side with the waves if you prefer less people around. We thought we could walk from the port, but it was a little far. I believe there's a bus (l13) or hire a bike.

Mindblowing beach. I would recommend to stay for 2, 3 days if possible in Formentera. It is indeed one of the most beautiful beaches in the world.

The most beautiful beach on Formentera, there is one restaurant that is too expensive, there are sunbeds and umbrellas that must be reserved in advance

The most beautiful beach I’ve ever seen! But there is no single shadow in this place, so never forget your parasol or arrive very early in the morning to still be able to rent one there (very few available for the amount of people attending).

End of April 3/4 of restaurants still closed, but not quite at all... (!) Otherwise absolutely disgusting, the dirtiest beach I have ever seen. Water full of méduses. And I do not forget about the price of access, bus + boat+parking it is far more expensive than the travel from Amsterdam to Ibiza. Conclusion: worst beach ever. PLEASE CLEAN (plastics garbages and dead animals)

Best spot in the world to me. Crystal clear water and amazing sand. Love love this place, heaven on earth! For Kiters works only off season with Southerly winds, yet you’ll have a great playground with miles of coast to kite!
