Beautiful park within the city of Zurich, it's a lush green landscape situated between two rivers. You can go for a gentle walk round the park, takes the kids to play in the swing park, and more. It's a great place to visit.

Platzspitz Park is a beautiful and calm spot right in Zurich, perfect for taking a break from the city’s busy streets. Surrounded by water where the Limmat and Sihl rivers meet, the park feels peaceful and refreshing, with plenty of benches, shaded paths, and open green areas. It’s well-maintained, clean, and easy to access, making it great for a walk, picnic, or just sitting and enjoying the view. The history of the park adds to its charm — once known for rougher times in the past, it’s now completely transformed into a safe and inviting place for everyone. If you’re near the Swiss National Museum or Zurich’s main station, this is an easy and worthwhile stop to relax and enjoy nature in the middle of the city.

Take a stroll through Platzspitz Park and discover one of Zurich’s most enchanting green spaces, nestled between the Main Train Station and the vibrant Dynamo concert venue. Shaded by majestic, centuries-old plane trees, this tranquil oasis offers a welcome escape from the city bustle, inviting you to unwind on well-maintained paths or relax on inviting benches along the scenic banks where the Limmat and Sihl rivers meet34. Platzspitz is not only a haven for nature lovers but also a place steeped in history. Once a royal garden and later infamous as “Needle Park,” it has transformed into a peaceful, family-friendly retreat, now celebrated for its lush lawns, colorful flowerbeds, and striking art installations234. In spring, the park bursts into a sea of blossoms, with magnolias and cherry trees painting the landscape in vibrant pinks and whites2. The park’s central location makes it perfect for a leisurely walk, a riverside picnic, or simply soaking up Zurich’s unique blend of culture and nature. You’ll find the Swiss National Museum just steps away, and the park also serves as a gateway to river cruises and other city attractions345. Please note: From 2024 to 2028, the dam is undergoing reconstruction and the pedestrian bridge has been temporarily relocated. Despite these changes, Platzspitz remains a must-visit destination—whether you’re seeking a quiet moment beneath the trees or a picturesque spot to meet friends. Highly recommended for anyone looking to experience the heart and soul of Zurich in a single, beautiful park.

I was blown away by the beauty of this park! There are so many trees that block out the surrounding area, which can help you feel lost in nature. There's a really nice river that goes right by the park, and benches to sit on to take a break. I came here during a quick train layover, it was super easy to get to and walk around. Definitely recommend checking it out if you're looking for some peace and tranquility!

Nothing wrong or bad about this great little green patch in the middle of Zürich! The plants are perfectly green and lush. The wildlife is happy and full of energy. The fountains are always flowing and a great place to refill water bottles. It's a great spot to to take a shadey rest after wandering the alstadt.

Decent park, not much to see unless you just want to relax under some shade - plenty of areas to walk and enjoy the river from both sides. Very close to the train station.

Yelp
I was in Zürich for a very short time. Had a 7 hour layover, so we decided to check out the city center for a while. Mainly just walking around, exploring the side streets, grabbing a bite to eat. When we came across the Platzspitz Promenade, we decided to check it out for hell of it and it didn't seem so bad, considering there were some parts of the city that seemed a little sketchy. But it was during the month of May so everything was pretty lush and the weather was pretty decent for that time of year. It was mainly just something to check out while seeing what the city was about. When it came to potentially getting souvenirs though, a lot of the stores were expensive, so we opted out of that one.

Yelp
I think this place used to be called needlepoint park because of all the junkies. But that time is now gone, and it's nice for a stroll by the river and museum. I like looking at ths swans swimming in the river. I came for a free jazz concert last weekend with some friends, and it attracted a small crowd of people hanging out on the grass in the dark. I'm not particularly fond of jazz, but it was still interesting to check out a live band.
