Beautiful location and excellent service of drinks and food. The staff try to go an extra mile to make you feel happy. I would recommend to anyone to visit the place. The beach was soo inviting too.

quite unexpectedly, this place offers a beautiful high end beach resort. The service is excellent, the cook and kitchen full of excellently prepared tasty Peruvian dishes, (Ceviche and the two fish soups were absolutely marvelous) and the resort is very well kept. The beach and the water are great for swimming, sea birds, frigate birds, pelicans and sea diving sea gulls just a few feet away, and the sunset is simply magnificent. If you want to get away from it all to relax and chill, this is a place to be at.

The good: Nice bungalows. Courteous professional service. Excellent location 1.5 km from town. Good food. Pool. Lots of pretty wild birds. Accept Amex and Visa. No need to pay for food/drinks until checkout. Nice showers. Listen to the waves as you sleep due to close proximity to beach. Food delivered to your room or wherever you are. ||The bad: Not the cheapest place for sure in Colan, in food prices or in rooms. Kitchen can get backed up, took about 30 minutes for them to bring us two drinks on one occasion. ||Overall: Lonely Planet considers this the best place to stay in Colan and I can see why. Sure it isn’t the cheapest but you get what you pay for , and the prices aren’t really exorbitant. We ended up with a bill of about $185 USD (~530 or so Soles) which covered a nice room, 6 meals, a few coffees and 6 drinks (2 beers, 4 mixed drinks) all of good quality.

This was the second time I stayed in this hotel and, although it may not be to “gringo” standards, it has a great location, peaceful ambiance and great service. Señor Leon, the owner-manager, Cala, our friend and coordinator, and all the staff were accommodating, friendly and hard at work to please us! We were 25 middle aged women getting together to celebrate our school days and friendship. They helped us make this event a memorable one so thank you so much! Although the rooms need a facelift (just like me and friends 😎) I highly value customer service and prefer to give my business to those who care! Thanks again Colan Lodge!

Hidden in the small town of Colan (about 45 min east from Piura, Peru) is a wonderful place to have a nice meal and then enjoy a beautiful beach. The waves are low, the breeze is gentle, the weather always warm, the sand clean, and NOT crowded. There is even a swimming pool if you do not want to wander into the ocean. There are lodges if you wish to spend time there. I went with my kids to just spend the day. The cost of the meals is around $10. The portions are large and the food is very good. The property is super clean and very comfortable.||To get to the Lodge from Piura, best hire a cab for the day. For about $100 you can have the cab driver take you on a tour around the museums and churches nearby||(the oldest church built in the American continent is still standing in Colan), drop you off at the Lodge and wait for you when you are ready to head back to Piura. It is much better than renting a car, as you would not have to worry about all the intangibles of renting (parking, fuel, robbery, traffic, insurance, getting lost).

I had a late lunch. The weather was awesome ( not too much sun,but wonderful sea breeze). We sat on a table right in front of the ocean. The lodge staff was very nice and the ceviche and chicharron were tasty... Prices affordable.

I visited this hotel first many years ago and have returned more than once. Nothing much has changed since my first visit, except the price, but that is part of the hotel's charm. There is no blaring TV either in the lounge or in the rooms and that gives you all the time you want to read and relax and recover from whatever causes you stress. The beach is almost always empty except for some locals who come to collect the conchas and is only metres away from the door of your bungalow. As there is no surf, there are no surfers so the beach is often deserted allowing you to take a leisurely 1km walk to the 'town' which has a several cheap restaurants when you want to vary your diet. There is a small pool so you can cool off between chapters as the sun is virtually guaranteed all year round.

Great place to unwind and enjoy the beach with the family. The food was great at the restaurant. The staff was pleasant and made the place feel cozier.. It would be nice if they had bikes for rent or umbrellas but worth the trip..
