Great stay, been there for 1 night only, but we loved it. Staff super friendly and helpful, rooms decor is nice and all comfy. Rooftop terrace with 2 pools is awesome, breakfast is plentiful and tasty. In front of a real nice beach. Obviously not 5star hotel, but value for money is excellent.

The worst spent money ever! We were travelling around Puglia for a few days. This was the most expensive and was supposed to be the most premium hotel of our trip. We paid almost 300€ per night (the room with jacuzzi). The jacuzzi was laud and broken (almost no bubbles). In the room there was a book full of do's and don'ts e.g. If you loose the card to your room they would charge you 100€. Ridiculous! The room itself was also a little bit damaged... At the reception there was lots of mess, on the terrace it was loud due to construction. The brekfast was one od the worst we've had in italy. You could not choose anything or ask for more of anything. And they want to charge you for everything. 5€ per luggage sturage! I mean come on. We paid alrwady 300... in every other hotel / b& b such services vere included even though we paid 100€ per room. In the end, it was supposed to be a luxurious, nice stay. It was a BIG disappointment, not worth the price. I DO NOT reccomend.

Location on the outskirts of Monopoli is good, with a short walk into the old town and opposite Porto Rosso beach. |The room was ok, let down big time by the lack of a shower. We had a room with a double jacuzzi bath - style over substance! The bath wasn’t even attached to the wall so it was impossible to avoid water going everywhere while trying to balance in the uneven bath with shower head in one hand and trying to wash hair! |Breakfast was ok, not very generous compared with other B&Bs/hotels we’ve stayed in.|The pool is very misleading - it’s only possible to sit in it to cool off. It’s only a couple of feet deep.

This so called hotel is trying to advertise itself as classy accomodation for your summer stay. That is far from the truth. For the price we payed we expected at least a functioning air conditioning and reasonably clean bathtub. We had to spent 5 nights sleeping in a humid room that was over 30 degrees Celsius at times with no luck cooling it down. The owner kept assuring us that the AC will be get fixed the next day. Never happened. We left this accomodation frustrated and quite honestly exhausted from the sleepless nights. No offering of any compensation, nothing but a dismissive attitude towards us.

Good price/quality ratio. The rooms were big enough, modern and clean. We had a jacuzzi in the room, which wasn’t very convenient. The sea view was great. The terrace was also big and not crowded, so we could relax here. The swimming pool is for cooling down, but not deep enough for swimming. I was always going for a swim to the opposite beach across the road, which had sand and clear water, but it’s always crowded. The hotel is just 10 walking minutes from the Monopolis city center. The staff was helpful. Breakfast was really good. We really enjoyed our stay here.

While Playa del Mar advertises itself as a haven of tranquility for adults only, this is not exactly true. On the first day of our stay, two children shouted and splashed around in the pool and jacuzzi for two hours in the late afternoon. Since they didn’t seem to belong to any of the guests, we inferred that they must have been the owner’s. It was all the more uncomfortable because I booked a massage, which took place on the terrace in full view of the noisy kids. It was impossible to relax, and I felt vulnerable and exposed as I was covered in nothing but a sheet. When I raised this with the reception, I received no apology, but we agreed on a 15% discount for the massage. However, as soon as I returned home, I realised that the hotel simply extracted the difference between the full and discounted price from my card without my permission. I had to report this as an unauthorised transaction to my bank. I advise guests to think twice before they stay at this B&B. Allowing your own children to play in your place of work which is for adults only is unprofessional. Using guests’ credit card without their authorisation is dishonest and illegal. Beware!

We stayed in the Comfort Room at this 5 room B&B. On the plus side it was within a 10 min walk of the Old Town; our room was clean and comfortable and good WIFI throughout. The breakfast as far as we were concerned suited us fine. The one time we were served the legendary ‘greasy single fried egg’ we asked for it to be replaced by an omelette (as we had had the two previous mornings). To be fair this was not a problem at all for the staff and they readily obliged.||On the negative side, the air con in our room was so weak it never got below 23.5 even when it was left on continuously as suggested by the staff. Our room featured a jacuzzi/bath with a hand shower attachment. This meant the only way to wash yourself was on your knees with the shower in your hand. Not ideal at all!! As there was no sealant between the jacuzzi and the walls this meant there was water all over the floor when you showered. A simple solution would be to rip out the jacuzzi and put in a decent stand up shower/bath. ||As others have commented, on the B&B ‘rules’ the penalty and fear factor of losing your room key was ridiculous to impose on guests. Totally unnecessary. ||Finally, the ‘free’ parking was really find yourself a spot on the nearby streets. Whilst this was not too much of an issue in June during a mid-week stay, we fear for those who would be staying over a weekend or during the height of the season. ||On balance we would not recommend to friends and family.|

We paid quite a bit for this hotel (comparatively speaking) so expectations were high. Beautifully furnished room but no lift and a hike upstairs. Our bathroom had a jacucci bath for two but no shower - water everywhere and I nearly slipped a few times. Breakfast was ok’ish. Cramped because it was served inside and nothing exciting. The omelette was burnt the first day for example. So overall for €200 per night, this wasn’t really worth it. We booked it via @CharmingPulia.com and since heard that the place is up for sale. I’m sure that there is better value for money to be had around.
