Google
It looked like a very nice beach with white sand. The day that I went there it was very windy and cloudy and the water was quite wavy. I didn't go in the water but it looked like a nice spot to chill on the beach. Change rooms are available. I didn't see any vendors selling food there.

We visited Dolphin Beach on September 2nd and 3rd, 2025. Parking can be tricky — if you arrive after 11 am, it may be hard to find a spot close to the beach. The beach itself is very nice: it has free “mushroom tents” for shade, the sea is clean, and the bottom is sandy with no corals. On both days there were big waves, and some seaweed only appeared later in the afternoon (around 4 pm). Facilities are basic: free washrooms and showers are available, but there’s no toilet paper (vendors sell it just outside). There are also no food or drink stalls on the beach, so you’ll need to bring your own or walk about 7–10 minutes to the nearest Go Mart. Overall, a clean beach with good shade and nice swimming conditions, but plan ahead for parking and supplies.

Google
Fabulous beach to spend an afternoon at. Beware of the riptides - Do not wade too far in. Get your snacks at the mart across the street and find a shady palapa to relax under. Great to see cleaning crew keeping the beach clean. Bathrooms have exterior showers.

Google
The beach looks very nice, clean, wide and long, with perfect send. It definitely worth visiting. I think that it is actually the main attraction in Cancun.

Google
Wonderful and beautiful beach!! the best nicest one I’ve ever been at!!! the water is so blue and the beach is so awesome!!!

Google
Nice Beach with a Few Caveats This is a beautiful beach spot in Cancun that offers some convenience but also comes with a few limitations. One of the biggest perks is the available parking—something that’s often hard to find in the area. If you’re driving, this alone makes it worth considering. The beach itself is clean and scenic, perfect for sunbathing, relaxing, or enjoying the view. Showers and restroom facilities are available, which is a nice bonus, but be aware that all services, including the facilities, are turned off by 5 PM. This can be inconvenient if you’re planning to stay later into the evening. The water is stunning, but the current is extremely strong here and can be quite dangerous, especially for children or inexperienced swimmers. It’s definitely something to keep in mind before going in too deep. One downside is that there are no chair or umbrella rentals, so be sure to bring your own if you plan to stay a while. Overall, it’s a solid beach for a quick visit or a few hours of sun, but it’s best suited for prepared visitors who don’t mind a more rugged experience.

Google
A wonderful beach with free amenities like showers, sinks, changing rooms, and umbrellas. You can buy fresh, delicious coconuts and chilled bottled water right on the beach for a small fee. The sea is a stunning shade of turquoise, and the water is so gentle it feels like it's caressing your skin.

Google
Nice and clean public beach. Worth a visit for amazing sunrise views!

Yelp
The good: Thìs was a gorgeous beach with tropical island vibes. I came during the morning and there wasn't much seaweed. There's free public parking. There are cute straw beach umbrellas setup everywhere for free use and wooden benches under half of them. There are outdoor showers and wheelchair accessible bathrooms. The waters were gorgeous with the aqua blue gradients. The bad: The current were too strong for my kids to swim in so they just played in the sand. The playground was missing the swings. The interesting: There are statues of dolphins by the bathroom. The slide is made of wood. I saw cops there patrolling. I also saw families taking professional photos here.

Yelp
We stayed at the Royal Uno and decided to take a long walk on the beach ;) It was about a 30 min walk from our hotel. Arrived around 630PM and it was a bit packed. But the beach was beautiful and clean with lots of canopy's available. Sandy was sooo soft. We watched a couple people surf as well.

Yelp
Beautiful beach. Blue water. Soft sand that sticks to your body. Benches. Must see and go.

Yelp
I'd highly recommend this public and clean beach to everyone!!! This is very popular public beach for locals and tourists, that we visited this past weekend while we were visiting the Cancun area. We just took one of the local red buses from our hotel to and from this beach. The bus is only 12 pesos per person per direction, so round trip is 24 pesos (maybe $1.50). The beach was very clean and well maintained. There was plenty of cabanas for visitors, to relax out of the hot sun and get some shade. There is public restrooms as well, which was also well taken care of. Of course you'll always have your random vendor walking the beach, trying to sell homemade jewelry, cokes, beers, etc....lol We saw some local police, lifeguards, and ambulance personnel nearby...just in case someone needed assistance. Overall our visit was very nice, relaxing, safe, and enjoyable!!!

Yelp
Most stunning and widest stretch of the beach in Cancun. Out of all the beaches in Cancun this one "ISSA VIBE" and a beautiful sight to see. Simply put.....a nice place to just chill on the white sand, under the beach stationary umbrellas, and take it all in. The ocean surf can be a bit strong depending on the day, but still good for a swim and the water is crystal clear! I make it a mission to come here every time I visit Cancun. It ideal for relaxing after a long day of tourism around the city. It's waters are the bluest ever, perfect temperature, and not too wavy. It's white sand goes as far as the eyes can carry. The beach is very clean, and great for all ages. On any given day.....people are doing kite surf, canoeing, and jet skiing. Swimming as mentioned before, is perfect in these waters and no need to worry about the little ones as the water levels are barely high unless you are far out. Plus, there are life guards running up and down the beach throughout the day. * YELP ELITE -- INSIDER TIPS: 1. Bring a cooler and snacks. There are street vendors, but food and restaurants are hard to come by. 2. Get there early or at dusk to avoid the crowds. The sunsets are amazing!! 3. It's a public beach. Public restrooms and showers are available. 4. It's easier to reach this beach by uber or taxi. Parking is available if you are driving but limited. There is also very convenient R1 bus stop is right on the sidewalks and runs the entire beach strip back to the majority of the hotels on the strip. In all, this beach never disappoints. Take your camera and enjoy the moment!!
google avatar

Yelp
Gorgeous!!! What's not to like? Stunning blues, ocean, waves and sand. Free parking if you rent a car. Or Uber works too. Such a gorgeous beach. Sunsets are even prettier here! Don't forget your sunscreen. And your camera!

Yelp
Another beautiful playa de Cancun. One side is public and the other is all resort. The public side offers free sun umbrellas and it's first come, first serve. There is also public restrooms, tons of taxis and places to eat. This side has the big popular colorful, Cancun sign, picture perfect blue waters and big white rocks for those perfect poses. Only downfall is the waves are much stronger here. I am not sure if it's because its December or maybe because at the time it was windy. So be careful, because the currents are strong and it's very rocky. Lot's of rough pebbly sand. I will throw this in here that playa Tortuga is not as blue, but offers much more calmer waters. Ending my review by the words of our local friendly taxi driver. Playa Delfines is the best beach in Cancun for pictures and it's named after the dolphins that pass by every morning. So get out here early if you want to see them.
google avatar

Glen N.

Yelp
By no means luxurious, but based on my experience (and my research below), it's the cleanest, biggest, most accessible public beach. The sand isn't as soft as the northern beaches, but I don't want to sound like an Anakin, bitching about sand. It is not dangerous, but the rip current was strong enough to keep you on your toes-- literally. Best of all, the Cancun sign! Rankings: TripAdvisor.com (#1), 10best.com (#1), theCultureTrip.com (#1), TravelandLeisure.com (#1), TravelTriangle.com (#1), VenturaPark.com (#4), Travel Yucatan.com (#5), Cancun.com (#8), SmartMapCancun.com (#9).

Yelp
I did not find it best for swim but yeah great beach with thatched umbrellas. I have read on the blog, the further south you go, more turquoise water you 'll see. It's true. You get here by any R1 bus, the Cancun sign will welcome you, but you have to be in the line sometimes. Note: you can also see Cancun sign at Playa Langosta beach and it has the better background like a palm tree in the back. Coming to Beach, it has a wide area with the thatched umbrella. I would recommend coming early to get one of these if you 'll come after 11-12 in the noon, you won't find even space to sit there, it is that crowded. Delfines beach and beach south to this are not recommended for swimming as water can be harsh, aggressive some time but it's not that bad even if you compare to USA East coast beaches. Beautiful turquoise warm water, soft sand, and sun make it amazing. A bathroom is available here unlike other beaches. Cancun's north beaches are more known for swimming.

Yelp
The free locals beach easy to get to, we walked their from our hotel.. very pretty beach, where the locals go.. also behind this beach is the huge cancun sign, if you want a photo spot, although we did not bother as there was a long queue there all the time....also easy to get to as the local buses stop right outside, then approx half a mile away there is the El Rey ruins that you could see at the same time..So if you want a scene different from the beach outside your hotel resort - definitely worthy of a trip!.

Yelp
Just Beautiful! Perfect for Sunrise Loved this beach. Free Parking if you get there early enough!
google avatar

Kimone M.

Yelp
It's apparently the signature beach for Cancun, by the famous sign. The bathrooms did not have running water. We had to dip a cup in a bucket to flush and wash our hands. The shores needed better maintenance. The attendants for the chairs and umbrellas were trying to charge unfair prices and were not very pleasant, we had to really talk to them about being fair and what was told to us before we decided to go ahead with the purchase. We made the best of it because in the end the water was beautiful and nature is undeniable.

Brian V.

Yelp
The view is nice, but however, there is way too much seaweed. People clearly are not trying hard enough to remove the seaweed from the beach. However, they have umbrellas to sit in the shade. Don't go here during seaweed season, there are many other beaches that are better than this.

Yelp
Parking was easy to find and it was free, but at times there would be people who would wave you down and show you an empty space and all they ask for is tips. The beach was nice. I love the clear green-blue color and the waves were strong. It definitely was very refreshing and the air was clean. I definitely enjoyed my visit here. The water wasn't too cold and the sand wasn't too harsh. It was a very beautiful sight overall. I would definitely come here again.
google avatar

Cathy C.

Yelp
The beach makes me happy. Fine sand in between my toes, sun shining, waves crashing, mild breeze and birds flying. To find a gym on the beach? Oh my goodness!!! Yes, please! They have that Cancun signage here. Restrooms and a shower area and miles of sand. It was safe when we went at night too. There was security who stood there the whole time while we were working out.
google avatar

Jane D.

Yelp
A must-see in Cancun because how can you visit Cancun without taking photos by the iconic sign?! Be prepared to wait in a long line.
google avatar

Carolen M.

Yelp
Playa Delfines was a sight to see. It basically is what you would picture when you think about Cancun beaches. We had parked in one of the stalls and of course due to the windy/rainy weather, we didn't have to fight for a parking spot, but it was full regardless. We had walked over to El Rey to do a quick walk around and then came back here as we did see the Cancun sign and when you're in Cancun....you must take your obligatory photo with the sign. We didn't partake in the beach and only took photos as it was a bit cold. I'm sure this beach would be one of THE places in Cancun for some fun in the sun, but in late November, probably not so much!
google avatar

Kenneth L.

Yelp
Playa Delfines is a gorgeous beach located in the Zone Hotel. It's accessible by the R-1 and R-2 buses and the bus stop is right infront of the beach entrance. I've seen some people drive to the beach, but parking spaces are very limited here so public transportation is your best bet. Bus fare was $12 MXN when I went in Sept 2017. Playas Delfines is a popular place to visit because of the Cancun sign posted out front of the entrance. It's definitely a picture worthy place, but there is usually a line for the sign. One can either go to the beach earlier to avoid the crowd or just wait in line. Playas delfines also offers restrooms and wash stations located in the buildings surrounding the entrance. It's a beautiful place to stop by and I highly recommend people to stop to see the blue waters!
google avatar

Roma M.

Yelp
The beach is really pristine! The Cancun sign is the main attraction here. The tourists are so organized, there is a line to take pictures with the Cancun sign and everyone is patient about all the groups taking their time to pose and click pictures. We went there on a sunday noon, took the R1 bus from our hotel- Omni Cancun, which was a short 5 minute ride. Once we got down, we went to the Cancun sign and waited around 20 minutes for our turn. While we waited, we sat on the benches at the curb side. There was also ample parking and cops keeping a watch at the people.

Amal A.

Yelp
We were walking towards our hotel after visiting El Rey ruins and we saw the Cancun sign so we had to wait in line to take pictures with it. We came back the next day. The restroom has no toilet paper and there's a person sitting outside the restroom with a pile of toilet papers and asking for donations to get one! Anyway, the beach is clean and not crowded but the people who are trying to sell you drinks and fruits are noisy. You can't really meditate or relax as they actually going back and fourth to every person on the beach. I can't complain as this beach is much cleaner and nicer than the one in Grand Oasis hotel.
google avatar

Rhonda A.

Yelp
Beautiful beach. Didn't actually go to this beach. My hotel was right there on the less crowded part of the beach. There's parking, but it doesn't seem to be a lot. You're better off taking the bus. It's $10.50 pesos or $1USD. Although it is cheaper in pesos, I just paid the $1USD because I didn't change any of my money over to pesos. Just came here for the famous Cancun sign. There was a line, but it didn't take that long, the people in front of us were pretty quick.
google avatar

Nicole N.

Yelp
My favorite beach. This beach is perfect for families. A lot of locals come here and it doesn't seem crowded. The turquoise water is perfect for swimming. Not too many strong tides. There's a sand bank separating the sun bathers from the people who swim frequently. By the sand bank wall; you can find a lot of washed up shells! They are beautiful and most of them are full and intact. The sand is super white, a little grainy. There are free umbrellas and people selling margaritas, pina colodas, chips and other refreshments and goods walking around. There's a colorful beach house on stilts; most of the sales take shade their. They have a lot of free tree huts that you can take shade by too. It really feels authentic and honestly, those tree huts work better then store bought beach umbrellas.
google avatar

Chanda M.

Yelp
Absolutely gorgeous beach! Blue waters, blue skies, white sand & the water is warm. It was a bit windy but the view was amazing so I didn't mind it much. I can't get enough of this place, they have locals walking around asking if you want to buy alcoholic beverages as well. Here you can drink right on the beach!
google avatar

Constance A.

Yelp
I came here with a few people from the hostel I was staying at. Great beach! And of course the Cancun sign is there. People were waiting in line to take turns taking a picture in front of the sign. Everyone was respectful, waiting for their turn. I waiting about 20 minutes in line to take my pictures. Afterwards, I headed down to the beach. The waves were tough here. So if you're not a swimmer, definitely stay alert how far down you do. One less star because when we were leaving at 7pm, the restroom was closed and there was no running water outside the shower area for us to rinse off the sand. All in all, fun beach.
google avatar

John K.

Yelp
Amazing beach and awesome views One of the best beaches in Cancun. Could see all the locals hang out here since it is a public beach. Lots of places to lounge and play. Lovely water. Very enjoyable.
google avatar

M G.

Yelp
Absolutely beautiful beach! The water is crystal clear and we enjoyed snorkeling, though there wasn't much to see except a school of fish. We've been twice and neither time was it too crowded. If you're looking for a very private experience you might want to go elsewhere, but the beach is large and we didn't feel cramped at all. There are some people who walk around trying to sell you things and they get annoying, but just try to ignore them. You can rent chairs for reasonable prices. Bathrooms are not in great condition, if you can bring your own toilet paper. Showers are fine, but just to rinse off. I wish I could have spent more time here! Definitely recommend it to all. Note: be nice and don't take the shells or starfish you find with you! Leave the environment as you found it :)
google avatar

Marcel S.

Yelp
This is a pretty beach with plenty of restrooms. It's also free, but has limited parking. The restrooms close at around dusk fyi. So if you're swimming past dusk and really need to go, a number 1 in the ocean would be your only option.
google avatar

Rhea T.

Yelp
Beautiful beach with lots of play area for the kids. It has the famous Cancun sign. Rode the bus here from our hotel. Bus in Cancun hotel zone runs 24hrs. It's $10.50 pesos or $4 US dollars if you want to pay in dollars. Of course it's much cheaper to pay in pesos as the current exchange rate is about $18 pesos per dollar. Be prepared to wait in line to take photos. The lines can get pretty long. The beach is gorgeous. They have bathrooms and showers. I want to say there is a charge to use the bathroom. If there is it should be very minimal.
google avatar

Cassandra H.

Yelp
This beach is nice. Probably wouldn't say it's the nice beach I've ever been to but it's so conveniently located in the hotel zone, very safe, and warm water. There was a bit of trash around the area which is not cool but the beach itself is pretty nice. If you're in the area, check it out. I wouldn't recommend making a special trip just for it though.
google avatar

Hana A.

Yelp
Very pretty beach and even has free parking. There's a lot of people lined up to take pictures of the Cancun sign so expect to wait around thirty minutes. Beach was very clean and there's even a playground for children.
google avatar

M R.

Yelp
Has the famous cancun sign. Be prepared to wait in line and the rule is you ask the person behind you to take the picture and then you take it for them. Great view clear beach also a little cancun sign on the beach. Bathrooms ,beach access bus drop off right in front of the sign so perfect
google avatar

Kayla T.

Yelp
This place is nice just a little fined down ! The hotel next to it is way better ! But can cun is just so pretty (:
google avatar

Bethany W.

Yelp
This is must see if you're in Cancun... gotta get your photo taken by the famous, colorful Cancun sign! That's about all it's good for. The beach is nice, but the entire strip in Zona Hotelera is nice.
