Definitely worth coming here to support this amazing business!!! Ordered the birthday cake but trust it was a tough decision as the assortment of flavors are endless!! The space is beautiful and reflects a beach on Alexander Ave!! The staff was so helpful happy smiling and engaging! The cone was so beautifully decorated with a cone within a cone concept. I ordered a small size but it was huge delicious and filling! Highly recommend! Met the owner JUAN who is so humble sweet and was kind enough to tell us the history and concept of PLAYA GELATO! This shop will be open all year round to fill your sweet tooth! Support support local businesses !!! PLAYA GELATO THE FIRST GELATO SHOP IN THE BRONX!!!!

5/5 for the flavors! I don't frequently have gelato but this recent experience was new and satisfying. It's perfectly located in a spot that's a bit of a food desert and I assume because of that The prices are slightly higher than I would imagine compared to what I've seen downtown and the size of the cups. Speaking of cup sizes, the cups go sm (1 scoop), md (2 scoop) , lg (3 scoop. Yet in person the cups look xs, sm, and smalldium. That are priced 6, 7.5, 8.5 respectively. Thinking on it, you do get a portion that satisfies and the flavors are perfectly blended and oh so smooth but the size of the cups make me blink one too many tips. Anywho, each gelato comes with a cute mini cone on top. They also offer milkshakes, a waffle & gelato, gelato for dogs (!!) and to-go options! It's such a new, refreshing and a right on time spot for the summer! Wonderful new spot that just opened up. The owner Juan was so nice and welcoming and his staff were excellent. The Gelato comes in a ton of unique and delicious flavors and I highly recommend the apple pie flavor. It's such a fun beach themed vibe inside and very nicely decorated. When my sweet tooth kicks in, you better believe I'm rushing over there again.

The Bronx strikes again with adding another cool gem! This was my first time trying gelato and it won't be my last. This gelato place is really cute the gentleman at the counter was extremely nice and patient. My wife and I were able to try samples before deciding on a flavor. I went with the Cappuccino Crunch and my wife had Peanut Butter Choco Chip. I high recommend both flavors they were delicious. There are a few seats out front if you want to sit down and enjoy your gelato.

Been meaning to go for months finally tried it tonight. This spot is always hoppin, the one place on the block that's consistently busy and they're open pretty late for a gelateria. Tried a couple flavors and decided on the coconut and chocolate in a waffle cone. Now I don't have to travel far to get good ice cream!!!! We have playa right around the corner!!!!!!!!!!! Service was also excellent, super friendly!!

Such a cute place, a true gem in this neighborhood. The owner is super nice, he let us sample At least 5 different flavors before making a decision. The place is so cute and looks super clean! Lots of favors to choose from including a handful of vegan ones. They also have gelato for dogs! Which is great. Great addition to this strip of restaurants.

Ive been here several times and will return again And again. The owner Juan is very kind and pleasant and he's very good with children. He even makes Woof Lato for dogs. He also changes the flavors so I need to keep going back to try the new ones. He says he has over 100 different flavors. I love the Vegan Coconut, Vegan Pistachio and Ive even tried the Mango and the Passion Fruit. They are all delicious. I highly recommend Playa Gelato ! My new favorite Gelato Place.

BEST gelato in the city. My son and I literally come here every weekend. Vegan Sicilian Pistachio and Vegan Chocolate are the go to's :)

this place was fantastic! the gelato has unique and classic flavors and tastes so fresh and pure to the name. the staff was incredibly friendly as well. they offer a punch card for a reward system and currently in summer have a cute outdoor seating area. honestly again this gelato was incredibly good

Wow delicious! I was at a nearby event and this place caught my attention. Sooo glad I I went in. I had the tiramisu flavor yum yum yum. And the person there was super nice too. Will definitely return

Very nice gelato shop! The employees are friendly & attentive. They wore masks & gloves. The staff is very conscious about food safety & COVID safety. They gave me more gelato than I expected, very generous portion size. It was delicious. They also let you try free samples. There's ice cream for dogs too. There was vegan gelato too.

I love this place. I am a South Bronx native. I also have family who live in Shore of NJ. I am HERE for the aesthetic - It gives, an authentic beach feel. This place is perfect for a date or family outings. The line was long but the staff was fast and friendly. The staff recommended my flavor . The Vegan coconut gelato. I added Almonds. This is NOW a favorite of mine. I can't wait to come back

Oh man, what can I say but, "Que Rico!" I had the passion fruit and mango sorbet. It's a large portion for the money so we'll worth it. The store's decor makes it cheerful and fun. If you are in the area make sure you stop by. You won't be disappointed.

I love this shop!! For sure, the gelato is delicious, but, it's the whole experience that makes it special. First the vibrant colors of the decor draws you in. Then, the sweet smell and taste of the yummiest gelato. And, the friendliest team that work there makes it that much more fun!! I'd highly recommend it for all ages!
