"The best of several great Atlantic beaches around Punta Rucia, Playa La Ensenada is made up of a fishing village and 4.5-mile stretch of sand with calm, crystal-clear water. Here, you can snorkel around submerged reefs in waist-deep water, or take a 12-minute boat ride through mangroves to a dreamy sandbar (named Cayo Arena but also called Cayo Paraiso, or Paradise Island) to see even more colorful fish. The size and shape of the sandbar change depending on the currents and season, so you’re always in for a bit of a surprise."

The best beach 🏖️ by far we have visited in Dominican Republic 🥰 there are sooo many different casetas to eat from - we sat close to #22 and it was outstanding their food and service!! Plus the tour from Playa Ensenada to the mangroves and Cayo Arena is the cherry on top!! You must go and experience it!! It’s the best 🤩

Very nice here and lots of restaurants and shadowy places. The water is nice, flat and clean, seaweed grows in places, but it's always manageable so you don't have to step in. There are a lot of mosquitoes out in the evening!

Such a beautiful beach, we stopped here on the way to Punta Rucia and I definitely prefer this beach over Punta Rucia. The waters are calm and for those not comfortable in the water, it is quite shallow and very clear waters. Would definitely suggest this beach to anyone heading to the west of the island

Beautiful beach. We were offered to go to Playa Cayo via boat which is a private island about 20 minutes from there. Highly recommend.

We came here few times because the water is shallow and good for kids to play.. restaurants are not clean at all.. they smell like cat pee and sewage. Second time some friends got food poisoning from their fried fish. I won’t name the food place but they are all the same. I think their sewage seeps into the ocean. If you pickup the sand from the shallow water and smell it, it stinks. Not for me.. I’ll stick to waterfront restaurant in playa Alicia.

Had the pleasure to visit this beautiful beach on the northern coast of the Dominican Republic. The beach is very clean, there's multiple activities you can do there for a fee, from jetski, banana boat ride, etc,. There's a ton of food stalls that sell fresh seafood. The beach is mostly a bit crowded on the weekends or around holidays, but if you visit during the week, it will be mostly quiet. Definitely put this place on your list, if you are on the northern part of the island.

Nice beach with gentle waves. Quite a bit of seaweed and unfortunately, obnoxiously loud music blasting constantly. You have to pay to park. Beautiful sunsets. Overall, just ok. Certainly not the most beautiful beach in the Dominican Republic but it's good for this area.
