Playa Largo Resort and Spa is a stunning retreat that offers top-notch service, gorgeous views, and memorable experiences for families and couples alike.
"Opened in fall 2017, this family-friendly property is idyllic for those looking to enjoy the amenities and predictability of a trusted brand while collecting Marriott Bonvoy points along the way. The resort comprises four, three-story towers with the lion’s share of guest rooms, a collection of ten colorful two-story bungalows dubbed “The Hammocks,” and a three-bedroom “Beach House'' with its own pool and waterside lawn. The resort has skillfully engineered a long sandy beach above its seawall—and segued the two with actual steps from the beach into the Florida Bay. Here, you’ll find the likes of both water and beach cabanas, free-standing hammocks (propelled by metallic spheres), splashing pups (the property is very pet-friendly), and Caribbean-inspired waterfront restaurant, Sol by the Sea. On property, also look forward to a colossal zero-entry pool, a full-service spa with six treatment rooms, a kids club, and three additional restaurants." - CNT Editors

"What was your first impression of this hotel? Why did it catch your attention? This waterfront oasis—part of Marriott’s Autograph Collection—is a welcome sight after driving past one fast food outlet and tacky shop after the next on the Overseas Highway in Key Largo. The gleaming lobby feels more cosmopolitan than tropical. What’s the lowdown on the accommodations? What can we expect from our room? The rooms are stylish and contemporary with nary a seashell or palm leaf in sight. To some, this may feel out of place, but it’s a nice departure from the typical decor in this part of the world. Drinking and dining—what are we looking at?The resort has four bars and restaurants: Sol for a more casual meal, Las Olas for ceviche and sushi, the Sand Bar for a cocktail on the beach, and locally sourced La Marea, which has become a destination in its own right, for fine dining. And how was the service while you were there? Staff are friendly, if not the most efficient. What type of travelers will you find here?Marriott loyalists and vacationers looking for more modern comfort rather than over-the-top island vibes. How does the hotel fit in with other spots in the area? It’s a welcome and sophisticated alternative to much of what you’ll find in Key Largo. Is there anything we missed?Besides the rooms and suites, the resort has 10 bungalows and a beach house for groups and families looking for a little more space. You should also make sure to experience the spa during your stay. Bottom line: Worth a stay?It is. The resort is an elegant spot, as good for couples as it is for families." - Nancy DePalma
