"One of the world’s best beaches according to UNESCO, this beautiful palm-lined stretch of golden sand 40 minutes north of Punta Cana is known for its top-rated surf school and its oceanfront restaurants that serve delicious, Dominican-style fish plates. Catch some waves at one end of the beach, then swim in the calm water at the other, where fishing boats loaded with red snapper and lobster pull ashore. Mid-beach, you’ll find food and drink stands alongside activity concessions, from buggy rides in the dunes to stand-up paddleboarding, horseback riding, and surf lessons."

Nice free public beach….free if you bring your own chair or towel to sit on. There is a fee to rent a lounge seat. We were charged $20 USD for 2 seats for the day. But the beach is lovely. Lots of waves but shallow to swim & wade in the water. It was pretty crowded but still very enjoyable. Especially considering that most beaches in the northern coast area are full of seaweed right now, just the peak of summer. There are a few vendors at entrance and we only noticed one food option, but it was delicious! Cold drinks, seafood platters, fries and such reasonably priced considering you’re paying for the convenience. One of the coldest beers I had on the island! Taxis hover around the area so not hard to find a ride, but they can be pushy. Overall a good afternoon.

Beautiful beach. That was the last stop on our buggie trip and was worthed to stop by and enjoy the view. I wish we've had enough time to go for a swim. The water looks amazing and inviting for a swim.

It's a beautiful beach with wide sandy spots and calm waves. It can get crowded but if you walk to the ends there are fewer people. Parking closer costs money but farther away there are limited free spots. There are bathrooms and lots of places to buy drinks and souvenirs.

Took an uber to this public free beach. Was so beautiful and very little seaweed for start of hurricane season. Some vendors very aggressive but other than that just beautiful beach to swim in.

Wow! This beach is gorgeous. Has some pushy people with iguanas and other things. Drinks were very expensive. You have to rent chairs.

The beach is beautiful, in comparison to other beaches around the Dominican Republic, I give it a three-star review because while you do not have to partake in renting beach chairs, umbrellas, or even purchasing the food... I wanted to; however, the prices they list are all in dollars and in many instances are far more than prices paid in the U.S. and wv n in Japan where I just traveled from. Additionally, if you pay via credit card you will pay between 10% and 25% additional charge. While I wanted to support the local economy, I do not appreciate being taken advantage of with these ridiculous prices placed on what is supposed to be a public beach. A comparison between Bayahibe and Macao, places Bayahibe prices much more reasonable than Macao prices.

Visiting the beach in December can be a bit more challenging due to the weather, but overall, the experience was quite good. However, there were significant issues with the individuals renting beach chairs and umbrellas. Despite being in a public area, they act as if they own the space, blocking access to the beach for tourists who don’t want to rent their equipment. This behavior is unacceptable and detracts from the overall experience. Additionally, the quality of the chairs and umbrellas is terrible. Broken chairs are left scattered across the beach, creating an eyesore and adding to the litter problem. The lack of maintenance on the beach and the poor customer service from these individuals only make matters worse. Renting their equipment is simply not worth it. The government should step in to address these issues, ensuring that public beaches are clean, well-maintained, and accessible to everyone. These individuals’ actions, combined with the lack of accountability, are harming the reputation of an otherwise beautiful destination.
