Playa Negra Brewing Beachfront Hotel

I was in Playa Negra in April 2024, Firstable they didnt want to take my credit card only cash. Eventually the owner made an "exception",Secondly, The place was very dirty smelly and loud all night.My room was next to brewery restroom so I couldnt open the window or sit on porch due the urine smell. The staff are young adult who are working part time for exchange for accomandation.I was 10 days there and it was a night mare. The only was great the location close to the beachbut also next to the main street and attached to the brewery which was very loud in the night.

Hung out these guys one evening they're chill played some billiards drank some casique, which is cheap vodka basically. But ask Chile for some homemade salsa maybe he'll have some.

The absolute BEST Margaritas in Puerto Viejo! They use fresh limon mandarina juice! No artificial ingredients! Victor is fantastic bartender. Food is good & vegetarian options available when requested. Located just before town, you can enjoy your cocktails on the beach! How does it get better than this?

We ordered 3 fresh pineapple juices and a coffee. Delicious, but the bill was a bit steep. Then… Four days later the owner saw me walking by, chased me down and said the new waitress had overcharged me and he was very upset about it. He wanted to give me the correct amount back - and he did. What a lovely man.

Stopped into the “brewery” for some beer… they were out of half the beers on the menu and the few they had left were awful. We ordered two beers and couldn’t even consider drinking them after the first sip, I’ll usually drink it even if it’s mediocre. Don’t waste your time unless you plan on drinking Imperial or Corona.

I only stayed in the hotel, I didn’t go to the brewery. My room was decent, the bed was comfy and the sheets were clean. The toilets were fine but the showers were pretty dirty. The common kitchen was very dirty. It had a nice coming area upstairs and friendly staff. About a 5 minute walk from the main area of Puerto Viejo and there’s a supermarket nearby. Not awesome but not terrible

We had a wonderful time at Kaya's Place! It was our first time visiting Puerto Viejo and the staff were so kind and welcoming. They gave us great recommendations for things to do. The center of town was only a few minute walk away, but we found ourselves staying at the hotel for dinner and drinks because it was so good and inexpensive! We definitely recommend trying the beer as well.

We visited Kaya's Place twice while in Puerto Viejo. The first time because my husband wanted to sample their craft brews. There are some decent brews on tap, which meant we needed to visit a second time! We had dinner there, pizza, beer and wine. The pizza was very good and really hit the spot, something filling with a variety of meat. The beers were good and the wine was acceptable. When we left, my husband left his credit card. The restaurant called the taxi and they actually brought us the card. Maybe we should have gone back to get it because when my husband stepped out of the taxi, he stepped into a a hole, fell and took a huge chunk of flesh out of his leg (20+stitches) and broke a bone in his foot! But, what restaurant calls and tells you you left your card there, let alone brings it to you? Excellent! It's a fun place to visit. Just a note to the guy at the bar who was an Oregon Duck...the Huskies own the series 60-47, and they'll beat the Ducks next year. Count on it!
