Playa Punta Uva

A true tropical paradise! Gorgeous water, beach, and a hiking trail to a spectacular viewing point. I highly recommend spending an afternoon at Playa Punta Uva!

We camped out on the point area of this beautiful beach and it did not disappoint! So very tropical and gorgeous. Better than the section north down the bay more we felt. The famous Insta coconut palm tree actually can create an optical illusion of shrinking someone which was pretty funny to discover when we went through our photos 😂

Golden hour at Playa Punta Uva, near Arecife — one of the most scenic stretches on the Caribbean coast. Families picnic under the palms, while quieter, more secluded spots wait for those willing to wander a little farther. If you visit, bring a small bag to carry out any trash — even a few pieces that aren’t yours can help keep this place as beautiful as it deserves to be.

Awesome place to go to the beach! Lots of shade trees to sit under. Not a bad place to get in the water and play in the waves. The waves aren’t huge and easy to make your way out past the breakers. On our trip it was overcast all day and the waves were a little bigger, but still easy to get out past the breakers. As stated by others, there is some trash on the beach, but clean as you go! Give a little back to the environment and pick up some trash yourself! The water is comfortable to swim in! Definitely a good family beach.

There are several Punta Uvas on the map, if you are wondering then this point is where the beach is the most beautiful. It's not as tranquil as cara can get almost all the way to the beach but the combination of palm trees and the sand beach here is epic. Swimming here is also great because you get fun waves which are not too big.

Great beach, with good parking right by the water (ignore the parking lots at the beginning of the street, they are way too expensive and in the low season there is plenty of space for free!). On the right side you'll get plenty of sun and on the left side a bit less. Also if an Argentinian guy stops by to offer Empanadas, say no, specially to the chicken ones, which have no chicken just bechamel!

One of the best beaches we visited in Puerto Viejo, there is North and South Beach, both equally stunning. Both had mixture of locals and tourists. Sundays were definitely more crowded than Rest of the week days. If you look carefully there are sloths in trees all along the beach!
