This is one of the historical places in Puerto Princessa if you take the City Tour.
It is literally right across the Immaculate Conception Cathedral.
In WWII, this place was a US military base back where American soldiers were imprisoned & burned alive by the Japanese. A few survivors were able to flee and swim across the harbor to the land nearby (since there was also a military base there).
Years passed. One of the survivors, took the lead of creating this Memoire to serve a reminder of what happened & we hope to be able to learn a thing or 2 from it.
Also,,, BEAUTIFUL SCENERY & VIEW!!!
Unfortunately, a pier is being constructed nearby which might disrupt the ocean view from Plaza Cuartel.
