A really great historical place with historical facts on it. If you love history, this place is a must to visit.

Tobe honest, after reading about the massacre that occurred here towards the end of world war 2 I was really upset. It was shocking to think how those soldiers died while trying to help liberate Palawan from the Japanese. The monument donated by the remaining survivor really captured the brutal was they were executed

This place has a nice view and gives you a bit of the history of what used to be a military base in WWII and what has become of it after it was burned down by the Japanese. It would have been more interesting if there's a tour guide to properly explain butI guess since it has been burned down in 1944, it only serves to commemorate the brave soldiers who were burnt down with the place. Whilst here, you can sit down and enjoy the view which gives you a xalming feeling. You will also see kids running around.

I was very happy to see renovations ongoing at this important historical site. There is signage, markers and plaques honoring the POWs who were imprisoned and perished here during WWII. A must see for those who care about history.

The place was good to chill in or sight seeing due to this historical way back for WW2. You can read or discover some ancient history of our marines hero who fought us against the japanese trops. The place is good for rehearsing of any activities of school. Its a neighboring place at the main catholic church in Puerto Princessa Well recommended.

This is one of the historical places in Puerto Princessa if you take the City Tour. It is literally right across the Immaculate Conception Cathedral. In WWII, this place was a US military base back where American soldiers were imprisoned & burned alive by the Japanese. A few survivors were able to flee and swim across the harbor to the land nearby (since there was also a military base there). Years passed. One of the survivors, took the lead of creating this Memoire to serve a reminder of what happened & we hope to be able to learn a thing or 2 from it. Also,,, BEAUTIFUL SCENERY & VIEW!!! Unfortunately, a pier is being constructed nearby which might disrupt the ocean view from Plaza Cuartel.

An important landmark in Palawan where the Palawan massacre of 1944 took place. A tranquil park at present, you can see the other side of the Puerto Princesa sea from here. Plaza Cuartel is a place to pay respects to the victims of that tragic event that is forever etched in history. There is a memorial designed by one of the only few survivors.

This is a memorial to 150 US prisoners of war who were murdered by the Japanese in Dec 1944. It's set in the old prison camp which has now been turned into a memorial garden. There are displays outlining the massacre and its a nice, interesting place to visit, especially if you like your history.
