Bolivar Park is right across the street from the Museum of Inquisition. It is a city park commemorating Simon Bolivar. Over the years, it has had several names, but now Bolivar Park is an inviting oasis of greenery and tress, flowers, paved walks, benches, and a water fountain, plus the horseback statue of Simon Bolivar. He led five of the northern South America countries to their independence. The park invites one to sit a spell, have a picnic, and enjoy a festival or a concert. Food wagons surround the park and shops line the streets forming the square.
