This is a nice shaded plaza in the middle of old town. A great place to stop and rest when it gets too hot and humid. There are many vendors, but if you politely say no, they will leave. Like many central American plazas, it’s highly visited and very enjoyable.

This place is very relaxing, to cool off and sit after a whole day of walking. The water fountain are very relaxing, bring a snack and buy the lime juice and enjoy a nice moment here.

If you’d like to see beautiful Colombian dancing, they dance here everyday!

Just outside the Museo Historic, this little park was a welcome relief from the Palacio de la Inquisicion.A nice bit of shade, a fountain and a statue dedicated to Simon Bolivar.

Nice spot to relax after wandering around town exploring the sights. Grab a drink or ice cream from one of the many vendors, find a shady spot and admire the statue of Simon Bolivar in the center. The plaza is clean and well kept and I could relax in peace.

Fubar Frozen Drinks. A wonderful bar that serves specialty drinks. Great Margaritas and Pina Coladas. Very strong shots. Wonderful and friendly service. The owner and patrons spoke with us. We're definitely going back.

Bolivar Park is right across the street from the Museum of Inquisition. It is a city park commemorating Simon Bolivar. Over the years, it has had several names, but now Bolivar Park is an inviting oasis of greenery and tress, flowers, paved walks, benches, and a water fountain, plus the horseback statue of Simon Bolivar. He led five of the northern South America countries to their independence. The park invites one to sit a spell, have a picnic, and enjoy a festival or a concert. Food wagons surround the park and shops line the streets forming the square.

Check airbnb for a top floor apartment with balcony overlooking the park/plaza where all the action is at and way cheaper than a small stuffy hotel room..Early evening was the best time for people watching as the dance troupes visited the park and the wide assortment of food carts to sample from...
