The swings and play structures sometimes spray water to cool people down. Much appreciated! Beautiful, leafy park with lots of seating options.

The fountain wasnt working because they had some summer party event on going while i was there which was a bummer. Its nice to walk around there is a children’s play area nearby. No tickets are needed

The Plaza has a monument in the middle and surrounded by park with child friendly play areas and area is more pedestrian-friendly. The Plaza itself is dwarfed by huge modern towers of buildings surrounding it and makes the area less classic.

**A Historical Gem in the Heart of the City!** Visited Plaza de España today and was completely taken by its stunning architecture and the rich history encapsulated within the park. This plaza is not just a feast for the eyes but also a treasure trove of historical tales. Whether you're a history buff or just looking to soak up some beauty, Plaza de España is a must-visit. Highly recommend taking a leisurely walk around to fully appreciate its beauty!

There is a rooftop bar there called 360 degree. It’s really recommended to go.

We visited Madrid in February this year and were few minutes walk away from the central Madrid Square. The park was quite interesting with a play ground and these structures. The weather was great to spend time in the outdoors and this place is a must to visit.

Beautiful place, you can safely walk through the park, near to "Gran Vía" which is one of the most iconic places of all Spain.

Yelp
Nice park to hang out with a great monument to Cervantes and his number one muse - Don Quijote. While we were in the city, this place served as a landmark for me on my morning runs. The walking tours we were on stopped here, and it was well lit, between the ambient lighting and the Christmas lighting, for the kids to still want to hang out at the playground. Additionally, they had a small seasonal market there, an ice rink, and music. It remained busy well after sunset. It is surrounded by tall buildings that overlook the park and the surrounding trafficked streets, like Gran Via. It's clean. It's safe, and if you're into Cervantes, worth a stop.

Yelp
Plaza de España marks the westernmost point of Calle Gran Via. It sits right across from Zara and the Plaza de España metro stop which actually connects to the Noviciado metro stop underground. There isn't much to the area besides the statue and there's some construction in the area, but I do appreciate the signage telling people how far the Palacio Real de Madrid & Temple Debod are. This is a location you check off your checklist for Madrid.

Yelp
This is a pretty small plaza/park with it's own metro stop. It's a close walk to the famous Templo of Debod, but other than that, there's not much of a reason for you to visit this specific spot. My friend lived here so we'd often visit, but that was about it. There IS however, an underground Chinese restaurant within the metro station that is sooooooo good. It's always packed and delicious - contrary to what you might guess based on its location!

Yelp
If you visit the Temple of Debod, it's only a 2 minute walk to Plaza de España. It's an area with fountains and statues perfect for photos and sightseeing. There are also benches to sit around and enjoy the sights and chill out. During the night I toured this area, there was a performance and a market on the other side of the statue selling clothing, jewelry, nuts, candy, ham, etc. Cool area to visit.

Yelp
Plaza de España is more of a small park than a plaza. Unlike Puerta del Sol or Plaza Mayor, there is a fountain, trees and benches. Much more reserved and quiet compared to those even if there is a lot more street traffic driving by at speed. But still, a great spot to get pictures and perhaps even a good rest from a day of walking around the western side of Madrid.

Yelp
A great park in Espana and prefect central location if you want to be close of all of the major things in Madrid. There is a stop on the "Madrid Hop On Hop Off" tour route close by, the Egyptian Temple is walking distance (literally behind the park). Great statue of Cervantes and his iconic characters. Too bad about Spain's graffiti problem though. Also there are free wifi places around.

Yelp
During my visit the park as well as the city was pretty dirty which makes for very unpleasant views, not the parks fault I guess came to find out city workers were on strike. Nice park area to walk around in , a lot of places to sit & enjoy the scenery beautiful big fountain. There was a small market place near the fountain , not sure if this is here always but makes for some easy shopping if u are looking for scarfs , magnets etc.

Yelp
located in the northwest part of the city centre, this is a great place to run thru, walk around, shop for souvenirs, and enjoy the statues bearing historical significance in madrid. i actually got to do all 4 since i visited this site several times during my stay in spain's capital. there are a couple of ponds here, one where i had my husband lie down and pretend to drink from one of the springs b/c i thought it'd make a funny photo! i posed by the equestrian statues of don quixote and sancho panza, standing in between the horses' legs for a memorable photo. there were quite a few vendors here, selling everything from tshirts, to hats, to local food products. i actually bought some turkish delight from one of the vendors b/c it looked so good and fresh...the bright colours didn't hurt either! it was only after i made my purchase, and converted the price in my head, that i realized how badly i was ripped off! and the turkish delight was just average, i probably could have gotten the same in the states. note to self: best to purchase turkish delight in turkey, or in a country closer to eastern europe! several tour groups stop by here, so be prepared to possibly wait in line if you want to take photographs without strangers in the background!

Yelp
Pretty touristy and not a place I prefer to spend a lot of my time since there are always crowds of people (not my thing) and the restaurants/tapas bars are a bit more expensive. There was a big futbol match the day I went so a lot of drunk guys were setting off (small) fireworks in the plaza, hence the presence of police in riot gear. I love how close this plaza is to Mercado de San Miguel, however.

Yelp
It is our stop off the flight. When we got up from subway, saw the park, and status, and the fountain. It is very close to he surrounding hotels, bar, senate, palace and etc. there are always police appearance during the day time and is very safe. Kinda noisy due to the street nearby.

Yelp
Beautiful gardens, dominated by a huge statue dedicated to the spanish language around the world, underneath which is a statue of Don quixote and Sancho Panza which is on all the postcards, everyone takes photos of it. A very large fountain which goes all day and night is there as well to splash your feet in. During the day everyone has picnics here and at night there are various people drinking (illegally, naughty) and hitting drums, making noise and generally partying in the way everyone does in Madrid every night until about 8am when things start to wind down. It is right at teh end of the Gran Via, so if you are tired of walking down there this is a good place to rest before heading down to the Palacio Real nearby.
