Google
Cool venue with a great vibe and many places to sit. We had a flight of reds and thought the glasses were small given the $12 charge for only 3 wines. We didn't like the wines we tasted. They have many other drinks so perhaps those are better. It's right in the middle of the art district so that's nice.

My wife and I were looking to duck into a vineyard to do a bit of wine tasting and ended up here thanks to Google Maps. The vibe of the place was perfect. Cool but not so cool that it brought back my dorky high school years. We ended up getting the Red Wine Flight, Experimental Wine Flight, and the White Wine Flight. The guy running the bar was really knowledgeable and walked us through each one. The reds were really good. One of the experimental was really good (we bought a bottle) and the other two were kind of meh. And the whites were good considering I don’t really love whites but wanted to drink more. As an added bonus, there was an empty peaches box in the parking lot so we got to sing the Mario Bros. Peaches song after drinking all that wine.

Google
Great Wine Selection/Vibe, Service and RAD Food Truck was excellent for Cabrese salad, charcuterie board and similar items reasonably priced… great place to enjoy some local wine hang out with friends in a more quiet urban setting. Parking everything was no stress. We really enjoyed our time here!! And they are dog friendly so a few of us brought our dogs.

Google
The atmosphere was really nice. I loved the decor inside. It's a modern industrial type vibe. There's tables and also sitting areas with sofas to choose from. We saw people ordering pizza which is a nice touch. We did not try the pizza. However, we did try the wine flights. The set up was cute, but that's about it. We did not enjoy the taste at all. Every wine was super dry, even the whites. I prefer a sweeter wine, but even my niece that loves dry red said she didn't enjoy these. The overall look was nice but we will not be back. Oh, and they could pave the parking lot. Jumping over muddy puddles was not it.

Google
I'm giving this winery a 4 out of 5 stars only because ots a dry wine only winery. We prefer sweet wines. But we liked the place and staff so much we stayed and gave it a try. We found wines and a cider that we were able to drink. The flights are super cute. The art is amazing. The atmosphere is electric yet relaxing.

Google
Seriously fun spot with a cool vibe. Major artsy environment next to the river and some killer wines! Make sure to try the Lambrusco it was the best and had a wonderful nose of flavor! Plenty of space both inside and out! Definitely worth a stop while in this area!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Google
Great wines, lovely bright airy and cheerful atmosphere with great décor, friendly patient staff that walked me through the menu to find what I prefer. Had a great time and will return! Please add feminine products in the restroom.

Google
Wine, cheese, and dogs... What more could you ask for!? Wine outside of California can be questionable, but this wine was REALLY good! I am not even a huge fan of Rose, but theirs was really good. We did Foundry flight and I loved all the wines. The cheese plate from South Slope Cheese was excellent, I almost ordered another box. It's also dog friendly and there is plenty of space to hang out both inside and out.

Yelp
plēb means ordinary, common place which seems an unusual name for a wine bar advertising unusual flavors. Located in the River Arts District plēb has a great location - plenty of parking, lots of rooms, cool aesthetics. There's a food truck outside. My friend and I ordered two flights. I loved the glasses and the stand the flights were served in. They were just fun! I ordered the Keep Asheville Weird flight, which the name made me pause since I don't equate Asheville with being weird - artistic, flamboyant, adventurous; sure, but weird? Okay... The service was fine, purely transactional. We ordered, they poured. It was fine. The wine itself was okay. Nothing I drank was overly remarkable either good or bad. I enjoyed our visit here.

Yelp
Incredibly cute space and ambience. We got here on Friday around 630 or seven and there is only one other person in the entire place. Even though they close at 10 around 715 the one worker started wheeling in all of the signs. We literally checked the hours multiple times because it felt like they wanted us to leave. The one bartender was very kind, and she was pretty helpful with the wines. I did a wine flight and then a glass. She did warn me that many of the options would be funky, and I absolutely adore wicked weeds wine because it is one of the funkier types so I was excited. Unfortunately but these did not compare. The wine flight seemed incredibly light and fruity, and tasted a bit too sugary for my taste. It was kind of like sipping on grape juice, honestly. They were like too easy to drink, and was not a lot of flavor at all. The glass of wine was basically the same. It felt like none of these options had any body or complexity. The next morning I woke up with an incredibly awful headache. While I definitely get wine, headaches, I never have gotten one off two glasses. Typically a headache after drinking these days means that I had a lot of sugar. As I said, the space is really, really beautiful. And it was really really fun to try a winery in the area. They have picnic tables and a airy indoor space with nice decoration. Clean facilities and bathrooms. Great River arts views. As a sidenote even though nobody asked,I would recommend just removing the one picnic table that is splintered and marked with a big x

Yelp
This place was pretty cool. Came on the recommendation of a few people, and the place was very busy. Place is a decent size, wasn't too loud, and seemed kid friendly for those who have children. Tried two diff flights of wine, some of them were good, some of them weren't for me. I'd easily recommend coming here if you're in the area. They have a rotating (or it seemed) food truck/kitchen that looked great, but we had just ate before.

Yelp
Sadly destroyed by Hurricane Helene in September 2024. It was a fun place to hang out and a wonderful break from breweries.

Yelp
I love the place but HATED the service we received. I meet with a women's business group once and month and this was the second time we met at Pleb. I really enjoyed my glass of wine but when I sat down my group mates asked if the bar tender was rude to me. I said no, he seemed fine. They mentioned we was grumpy with them. Fast forward, the place is about to close and the bar tender comes to collect our glasses. He mentioned that they were closing in 3 mins and took our glasses one with wine it in still. Hmmm. We had just downed our glasses and were finishing up conversations in the parking lot. Please note that we were not on Pleb property. The bartender then gets out of his car and tells us we have to leave or he's gonna call the police on us. We were not even on Plebs property. There were two groups of women out there and this guys is threatening us with the police?!! I told him to call them. He was like a child with a tantrum. So pouty! What an embarrassment to the company! Yikes!

Yelp
Stopped in here for the first time on a weekday afternoon with a friend. Lovely, spacious venue with cozy couches or tables to enjoy your wine. They offered both flights and by the glass. I ordered the sparkling flight. I wish they had paper menus you could take to your table so you can know/read about each wine as you are tasting it. The wines were okay. The bartender was not very friendly. The back outside area is charming and there are grapes growing on the vine.

Yelp
Service... not pleasant. Wines... Disappointing. We stopped here after an art district walk tour. The tour included a free extra tasting at this winery. I was excited. I love wine tasting and loved the mural at the front of their tasting room. That's where my excitment ended. Before we took a couple of steps, the lady at the bar almost barked at us to put our masks on, while we were in the process of doing so. We told her we had the ticket for extra tasting and she said, annoyingly, that she would need the tickets first. We asked about the tastings and she just pointed at the menus, not explaining the wines at all. The one recommendation she made she did by turning her back at us while pouring it in a glass. Can you at least give us time to say yes or no? We got our flights and sat down. First sip, we looked at each other in disbelief. It was like a raspberry syrup. I checked the flight menu again to make sure a port wasn't part of it, but it said this first one even had cab franc grapes. How is that possible, I don't know. But things just got worse from there. We ended up not needing that 4th free pour as we didn't finish any of them. We left regretting spending our time and money here.

Yelp
We had an awesome time participating in grape stomping for their 4th anniversary. We were miffed that the time of the event was changed, even after we called to confirm time and if there was a cost. (No cost, assured of the time the day before, informed of the time change when we walked in and were turned away for a couple hours). The wine itself was underwhelming. I got a flight and did not like any of the options. In fact, each person in our group got a different flight, so we all got to try almost all of the offerings. And we were all underwhelmed. The space was cool, bright and inviting and trendy. If I liked the wine at all, I would gladly return for a sit down and sip. Like I said, the wine stomping was a hoot and a half and really saved our reactions and my rating of the visit. It is fine. And it is close by to a lot of things in the River Arts District, so it is convenient to activities if you want to give it a shot and see if perhaps their wine is more in your flavor and taste wheelhouse.

Yelp
Stopped in at Pleb Urban Winery while we were in the area. Not many choices for wineries in the area but glad we found Pleb. Staff is great! Friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is great. Wide open room with some high top tables, comfy chairs and couches. We did manage to snag a couch and shared some great conversation with the ladies on the couch across from us. I sampled a sparkling flight. Loved all but one. The flight was $12 for 4 samples and basically equals a glass of wine. My fiance sampled the chardonnay. It was ok, but not as good as others I've had. I'd definitely go back to try other wines!
google avatar

Haley H.

Yelp
We did the tour with Amy and it was amazing. All of the wine was really great. We loved the unique wine options and the back story of how they are created. The atmosphere is great. We'll definitely be back!

Yelp
Very cool eclectic winery in the River Arts District. Very fitting for area. Love it. Nice dry selection. I tried the sparking wine flight. Delicious on hot day. Hubby got the red wine flight. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Plenty of seating inside/outside. Snacks and charcuterie boxes available.
google avatar

Lacey S.

Yelp
Nice cozy spot with a great wine selection! Huge inside seating space as well as outside patio. Definitely try it out if you're in the area! Staff is super friendly! Dog friendly!

Yelp
We were at some pretty good wineries in and around Asheville. Pleb Urban wasn't one of them sadly. We were walking the river area. There is many many different galleries from local artisans and more to see there. The tagging in the area, the graffiti, was great to see. From the mural on the front of Pleb to the hundreds of smaller pictographs it was the highlight of the area. At the end of the walk we went into Pleb. The gal at the front, not very pleasant asked what we wanted. We had to ask if they had wine tastings(it wasn't obvious or offered). They had a few different kinds, I got the all reds tasting as did my gal. When i got the holder with the 3 wines I thought there was something wrong with them, they all were the color of Kool-Aid. We found a good spot to sit down, they have ample seating. I tried one after another and all 3 were very disappointing. it was a little bit of a relief actually as we didn't feel obliged to buy a bottle of wine like we did at the last few places. Long story short, nice spot to chill out, but the wines, not so much .
google avatar

Beth S.

Yelp
I had a single glass of wine there with a friend. It was $12 to $14 on their menu. We walked out together and I forgot to close out my tab. I remembered when I got home and assumed they would add a standard 20% which is fine. My bank account has an almost $44 charge for that one glass of wine..... make sure you close your tabs or apparently the bartender thinks they deserve 100+% for pouring one glass of wine for you.

Yelp
Stopped here for drinks while waiting on our reservation downtown. Not sure why they dont have a full 5 stars, our first visit was awesome and wish we could have stayed longer. Minus being eaten by mosquitoes but hey thats what we get for sitting outside after a rainstorm. We could have went inside but the ambiance in the garden was so lovely and we knew our visit would be short. My friend and I both got the flight of wines, my favorite was the dry rose. Everything else was a bit too sweet for my taste buds. But then again rose is my normal go too so my taste buds were probably not up for trying something new. We also grabbed one of the south slope cheese boxes. IT was a good hold me over till dinner but for the price, next time I will save the money for another drink instead. We didnt have a long time but I did notice they had a variety of games, plenty of parking, lots of space for social distancing inside and outside. The inside was very cozy and has a great view of the back end area. The twinkle lights outside really sealed the deal. All is all this place will probably become one of our go-to places when we need some socializing out of the house.

Yelp
I'll start by saying that we enjoyed Pleb so much that we visited twice during a several-day stay in Asheville! Pleb has a wide range of wines, including more eclectic choices for adventurous drinkers. Over our visits, we tried the white flight, the experimental flight, the roses, and the orange wine. Honestly, we loved everything that we tried and found that both of our bartenders were knowledgeable about the wines and provided excellent recommendations. Pleb's indoor space is large and open. We saw smaller groups, larger groups, and dogs. We saw people socializing and people working/studying, which was a fun juxtaposition and seemed to indicate that you can come as you are. There is also outdoor seating, which we did not take advantage of given a heat wave during our stay. Overall, I highly recommend visiting Pleb if you enjoy wine and/or like exploring what wine can be! I hope that we will have to opportunity to visit again in the future but we've already promised ourselves that we will have some Pleb wine shipped to us in the near future.

Christy W.

Yelp
Very cute winery! You can get a flight of 3 tastings for around $12. I tried the Foundy Series flight which had a white, a rose, and a red wine - They were great! There's a good amount of parking available on-site. Lots of outdoor space to sit in or to play corn hole. The interior is very spacious too!
google avatar

K B.

Yelp
Very cool atmosphere chilled vibe good flights and had a food truck out side in the middle of the art district!
google avatar

Ariel F.

Yelp
I was really disappointed. I ordered a sparkling white wine and the cheese plate. The sparkling wine was served to me in the can and I had to pour it into a glass myself. The wine was awful. It was extremely sweet and tasted like sparkling white grape juice. The "cheese plate" was just a $15 cardboard box of saran-wrapped cheeses, a bag of peanuts, and a few lunch meats on top of a styrofoam plate. It was extremely overpriced for what you get and there was barely enough to feed one person. Plus there were no utensils with which to spread the cheese. I will not return. Go to Bottle Riot.
google avatar

Connie E.

Yelp
Hands down one of my favorite winery visits. It's very laid back with great wine and lots of space. I chose one of the wine flights and also ordered a charcuterie board from the food truck. I visited on a Sunday during football season so of course all tvs were on the games.
google avatar

Brien M.

Yelp
Joining the movement to bring an old commercial district back to life, they offer a variety of wines, beers, and other drinks with a unique character. We had drinks rather than a tasting. The wine drinkers were pleased with their choices and my friend and I liked the ginger beer. You really have to love ginger, though. I found that I needed a package of Asheville pretzels to temper the overwhelming flavor. The venue is a massive open space and popular for dates and groups of young friends. We old folks kind of skewed their age demographics. To add to the fun, they had a trivia night just starting as we finished. It was a full house.
google avatar

Stephanie J.

Yelp
I loved the space, unfortunately I wasn't a huge fan of the wine itself. I did two flights, the foundy series and funky, and my husband did a glass of foundy white. I liked the foundy series flight better. In the end, we had a fun time.
google avatar

Kelsey G.

Yelp
Cute little winery that offers flights! Open and beautiful space. Great stop when I'm Asheville. Highly recommend
google avatar

Alexandra S.

Yelp
We love coming to Pleb on Sundays for trivia! They're space is very large and spread out and there is plenty of seating which includes tables, high tops, and even some couches. I'm not too much of a wine drinker but I find their wines to be more unique than the wines you would traditionally buy from the store. You can order wine by the glass, by the flight, by the bottle, they also have growlers where you can take the wine on draft home (they even have a day during the week where growler fills are I think 20% off). They have some beers on draft, as well as some bottled options so it's not just wine. They also have a small food menu. Its very dog friendly and you are able to bring your dog inside. The staff is always helpful and very friendly. They also have a nice outside area, however since we usually go for trivia (Sundays at 4pm) we always sit inside.

Yelp
I'm excited about this new wine bar in Asheville. It is a gorgeous large warehouse space with tons of seating, bright and fun murals, high ceilings and a long bar. I am by no means a wine connoisseur and don't know much about wine other than if I enjoy it or not when I try it and although I did like some of the wines I tried, I did not love them all. One of the wines I tried was very sour and another way very sweet, not for me. I absolutely love that they offer a wine flight though with 4 small pours. What a fun way to explore a new wine bar! The service here was great, the bartender was super friendly and knowledgable about all of the wines. She was talkative and energetic, and made us excited about trying some new wines. This would be an amazing space to host an event like a wedding reception or a work party. There's tons of space and it feels really inviting.
google avatar

Joshua B.

Yelp
We were exploring on our last visit to Asheville and came upon this winery while checking out some murals and arts in the area. The location is right in the middle of the arts district and it fits right in. They had a few cool murals inside and outside of the winery. It had a nice open air feel and also offered quite a few seats outside. We decided to try a flight of the white wines. We sat outside and grabbed a table on the side of the building. After sampling through the 3 selections, we realized we enjoyed them all. They were all a tad different and very much enjoyed. The location was super cool and we would definitely return in the future.
google avatar

Jennifer M.

Yelp
This is our third urban winery we've tried. The ambiance is pretty cool. We loved the location and the open outdoor area. The staff were less than helpful. They actually made us feel like we were inconveniencing them. They did nothing to talk about or explain the wines. When we asked questions they were both annoyed. All that could be put aside if it was just decent wine. These are basically sour beers mascarading as wine. We couldn't finish them. I'd say skip this if you enjoy wine at any level above just drinking to get a buzz.
google avatar

Stacy P.

Yelp
Nice place, reminds me of a winery in Brooklyn, NY. Unfortunately the flight wines were not good at all, reason for my 3 star.
google avatar

Christina H.

Yelp
Cool, artsy, spacious winery that's definitely worth a visit! Stopped here for a drink after checking out Second Saturdays in the River Arts District (look it up if you're not aware - great event!) and immediately liked it upon entering. The winery has colorful, bright walls and spaced out tables, making it feel safe amidst the pandemic. You know how some wine bars have more of an uppity, pretentious feel? Pleb is the exact opposite of that (and maybe that's to fit the name of the winery) - it looks and feels much more like a brewery. You order at the bar and seat yourself. My friend and I both got the mulled wine, which was hot and tasty. The glassware was also super cute! Great spot to people watch, and evidently a good first date spot (which was an observation we made from our people watching, LOL). If I'm ever back in Asheville, I'll come back!
google avatar

Charm L.

Yelp
Very cool building and place to spend a few hours drinking wine. Selection was decent. Recommend starting with a flight. Had a couple of types of beer. For food all they have are chips in bags. Which is disappointing. We left after an hour 1/2 because people wanted at least appetizers. They advertised a "wine club" but when we asked the staff about it they said they really didn't know anything and go look at the website.
google avatar

Sarah L.

Yelp
Cute atmosphere and great location in the arts district. If you are a fan of West coast wine (CA, OR, WA), this might not be for you. If you are easy to please, you will have a blast!
google avatar

Christie B.

Yelp
Great spot to rest, start, or end your night in Asheville! I loved being able to get a flight and the location is superb. I've gone twice, and both Saturday nights it didn't seem packed.
google avatar

JC G.

Yelp
Good sampling of wine. Service was great. Trendy place. It's worth the try (was a stone's throw away from our hotel).
google avatar

Hailey N.

Yelp
The cutest little winery in the River Arts district! Lovely outdoor and indoor seating, and were playing some bops!! A bit pricey but worth the visit!
google avatar

Scott J.

Yelp
Meh! Not sure why people come here. Decided to get a flight, which we did not finish. There are way too many other wineries and breweries in the area. Don't waste your time! You'll thank me.
google avatar

Micah N.

Yelp
What a great space! I love how open and bright everything is- it seems like it'd be a great event venue in addition to a nice place to have a glass of wine after work. There's a few outdoor tables, but the whole area seems open to the outside when the garage doors are open. The selection of wine was a nice homage to local wine options I hadn't tried before or heard of. A sampling of local beer is also available and there's a nice set of appetizer options to snack on.
google avatar

Kylie R.

Yelp
Great atmosphere, amazing staff. Not really a fan of the wine because it's too sweet for me but GREAT concept and I love the board that the wine comes on.
google avatar

Atul V.

Yelp
An experience not to miss. If you are a wine lover and want to see what is possible in North Carolina, this is a MUST experience. California transplants Chris and Tyler know vineyards and wine and have created an authentic experience. The venue is an amazing space that showcases local graffiti artists while you enjoy local and representative wines. Highlight of our wonderful trip to Asheville.
google avatar

Liz J.

Yelp
If you enjoy wine, don't come here! There were four of us in our group so we got all 4 different wine flights to try so we covered every wine. Of the 12 only 2 were meh (somewhat drinkable). The rest were the equivalent of church wine (if you know, you know). And I'm no wine aficionado. The mulled wine was ok but everything else was disappointing. Liked the brewery ambiance for a winery. TL;DR Terrible wine, terrible food, but not a bad ambiance. Definitely pass on this if you're in town or local.

Donna M.

Yelp
Me and my husband were from out of town S.C. and we looked for a wine tasting which we decided to try this place. We walked in a nice big place and sat down. We sat for 30 min. waiting to be acknowledged, or served nothing ever happened. The place was pretty empty. There were four other couples in the place, and two were sitting at the bar where the bartender just stood there and talked to them, or just stood around the guy at the bar, went and cleaned up wine glasses off the table, but no acknowledgment from anyone, nobody said they will be right with us or that we need to come to the bar to order we were totally ignored. We finally decided to just leave and as we walked the long empty restaurant nobody said anything as we left, and they did see us. I don't know if this place doesn't care that they get any business or the waiters and bartenders don't care, but it was very disappointing and a waste of our time . I even took a picture of the bartender just stand there, talking to the other people, if you want to waste your time waiting and being ignored, this is a place to go. Apparently they don't need your service or money.
google avatar

Matthew H.

Yelp
Underwhelming. The wine just isn't that good. I don't know how else to say it. The winery itself is in a great location and seems like a neat concept (although the inside space was really loud). But the quality of the wine was disappointing--very average, nothing to write home about. The staff person at the counter we ordered from also didn't seem too knowledgeable about the wines--after a question or two, it was evident to us that we just needed to decide what to get ourselves rather than rely on any recommendation from the staff. Overall, a cool location, but lacks in terms of the actual product.
google avatar

Kim D.

Yelp
Atmosphere very nice and lively. Love all the football games on 4 tvs and nice outdoor area; dog friendly. But rose wine flight disappointing. Sour and cheap tasting.

Carol J.

Yelp
The place is very nice and typical of a winery. The wine flights were good but not enough to pay the high price of a bottle. We could have used something more to eat than chips and pretzels. The personnel was very friendly and helpful with explanations of the wines.
google avatar

Michelle F.

Yelp
I'm so happy we were able to come here! It reopened for outdoor seating on one of our last days in Asheville and we had a great time. The wine was incredible and we will definitely return next time we're in Ashevile!
google avatar

Caty C.

Yelp
LOVE pleb! What a fantastic spot to stumble upon. Visited this gem on a weekend trip to Asheville with my bf. We wanted to check out the breweries of course, but on our way to one of the popular spots, we saw pleb and the awesome artwork in the arts district and decided to stop in. The place was virtually empty so we were concerned it was closed. Not the case. We spent the next hour+ hanging out with the nicest/chillest bartenders talking about the wine (we enjoyed several wine flights), 90s hip hop and the future plans for the winery. I really wish we had more places like this in Charleston! Can't wait to visit again. If you're in Asheville, this is a must.
google avatar

Brendan G.

Yelp
Dear you, I didn't know that there was more out there for me, but there is. A place where my youthful spirit can come back to life and feel like I'm young again. Everyone is so accepting of me as soon as I walk in the door and the memory of my last failed 3 marriages washes over me like surfing the big blue. High ceilings check, abiance check, vibes check. I'll see you on cloud 9
google avatar

Tammy J.

Yelp
I love this urban winery. My husband who isn't a wine drinker will order the Concord flight. What a great wine oasis in the beer city.

Andrew T.

Yelp
Cool winery and friendly staff. We got a flight or reds and sour whites. Nice to try something different but all the wines were pretty awful. No need to go back.
google avatar

Rachel R.

Yelp
I wish I could leave 0 star. The staff was the absolute worst, so rude and unprofessional! I will never recommend this place to anyone. Never again!
