Plečnik House

A really interesting guided tour about Plečnik and the home that he built up. The tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and really gave a sense of what inspired Plečnik and how he lived. Much of the house has been preserved with the furniture, items and fittings that they possessed when Plečnik died in 1957. There’s lots of fascinating period details to see and examine and the house itself is very interesting architecturally as well with a huge garden (with even more classical artefacts) to explore. Well worth 9 Euros!

The tour guides are excellent and provide an interesting 45 min tour of this great Slovian’s house as he left it when he died in the 1950’s. As he worked with those in power (except the facists) his living quarters remained in tact during communism. Cheap price for the tour overall. Well worth it for the man who left the biggest architectural imprint on Ljubljana.

I love the way the guide explained his major life points. Very peaceful atmosphere specially the garden. We waited there more than an hour during a hot day. There were letter reading , they served delicious drinks and snacks for the people who were around. Worth to visit place. Staff is very friendly and helpful

This was such A great experience. We were very lucky to arrive at a good time. We had a wonderful tour guide, which now I forget his name, but he was so sympathetic, very knowledgeable, and great insights and story telling. I highly recommend doing the house tour. :)

Would highly recommend booking the tour online in advance if, like me, you admire his architecture but don't actually know a lot about him. The house and guide was very informative and much better than if you only went into the free exhibits (although they were very detailed). We went on a rainy day. Really enjoyed how the guide left us to explore in each room and take photos (without flash). Learnt a lot and appreciated the architecture of the city even more after visiting.

It is such a pleasure to share my experience about this great place and people who run it. The museum is full of original and well kept things having belonged to Jože Plečnik, and all of that provides a wonderful insight into a way of life and personal philosophy of the most important Slovenian and one of the most appreciated Europian architects. A visitor is able to choose between regular visit and a guided tour with just a few euros price difference. I chose the guided tour and I have to say all the best about Tea, our guide. She is approachable, full of information and she knows very well how to present them in an interesting way. The tour is guided both in Slovenian and English successively. You don’t need to have a previous knowledge either about architecture, or about Plečnik personally, but in my opinion, it is recommendable to gain at least few basic information, which is quite easy in the era of google. The regular price of guided tour is 9 euros, and I know there is a discount for students and elderly people. I highly recommend visiting this wonderful little world of the great artist and exceptional human being.

This museum is really interesting to see, especially if you have somehow interest into architecture. It was definitely eye opening to learn about the life of Plecnik and how he contributed to the architectural structure of the city of Ljubjana. It was also great that you can see the house via a hourly guided tour that is done max with 7 people. When you consider this, the price for the museum was really fair.

I recommend a visit with a guide, during the tour she introduced you to Plečnik's life and many interesting facts. Pleasant visit, the museum environment is nice. The guide spoke clear English, she responded promptly to all our questions.
