PLUS Berlin

Stayed here as part of a group of seven during a weekend trip to Berlin. Hotel is based in an old school and the building is absolutely huge. It was easy to find and is located in a neighbourhood full of clubs, bars and places to eat. The hotel has some great features including a pool, sauna, football pitch, garden area with art gallery, restaurant and beer vending machine in the lobby. The rooms were a good size and fit four of us comfortably. Shower and bathroom were clean and also a good size. Staff were friendly and very helpful with directions and also arranging taxis for us. Only minor issues were the rooms at the front were quite close to a nightclub, so you could hear the music through the windows. The bed was also a little on the small side. I would definitely stay here again though, and would also happily recommend to friends.

Really nice hostel! The staff was very friendly and the place is massive. Perfectly located next to the train station for sightseeing, and very close to some of the best night clubs in town, if that’s your thing. The other guests were nice and very respectful (I stayed in a 4 bed female dorm). It was a huge room! The only down side is not every bed has an outlet next to it. I would definitely stay here again

Exceptional hostel. Staff are wonderful and the bar is cheap with a great selection. The rooms are clean, large and warm. The bed linen and towels are clean - basic hotel quality. The building is stunning, huge and has a swimming pool and sauna. The free shot on arrival tells you what kind of stay you're gonna have! The location is perfect, very close to a station and Berlin's public transport is excellent.

I stayed at the Plus hostel for 4 nights and I have found the hostel to be excellent value for money. Due to the lively location it can be quite loud at times and busy but that is to be expected. The rooms/bathrooms were clean with nice high ceilings. I had a minor issue with the room and after speaking to reception a guy called Tillman dealt it in a most professional and prompt manner which was great. Keep up the great work!

Overall great. Security for my room(5 bed mixed dorm) 10/10 big lockers need your own lock. Beds were comfortable and warm enough Heating was adequate, room was spacious. Shower was scolding hot, had to turn of radiator to mitigate, still very hot. Location was close to U2 train. But slightly less than ideal for sight seeing. Good location for clubs. Breakfast was 7 euros and was just fine. Overall fine.

Easy to find, right next to a train station so getting around is easy. Great service, quite a few tours operate from this hostel. Common room, restaurant/bar, swimming/sauna facilities are all a plus. Room was clean and tidy, big shower. Only complaint was there's no overhead light in the main part of the room so is a bit dark.

A good hostel. The rooms are big enough, the tall ceilings make them airy. Bring ear plugs though as it is noisy. The rooms overlook the internal square so the noise out there rattles around. The staff were not particularly friendly and they could do with a few more on reception as there were often queues.

The rooms were lacking in amenities, and they were small. Wall plugs are impossible to use because they are so deep. However, the breakfast was very good value and the staff were very nice. Lovely pool and common room. If you are looking for a cheap stay this is the place.

Excellent hostel in a great location! Just a few minutes' walk from the East Gallery section of the Berlin Wall. I stayed here with a Contiki group, and we had a great time with the fabulous courtyard and Matrix nightclub across the street! Some of the best hostel-prepared food I had in Europe: the cooks whipped up an excellent traditional dinner, and breakfast was plentiful each morning. Would definitely stay here again! This hostel was one of the reasons I fell in love with Berlin.

This hostel is great! It s very big and good location. The room are big and clean. There is a pool, sauna and many activities. The restaurant/ bar is great. The food is awesome. The breakfast is cheap and it s a buffet. I would definitely come back here if I m Berlin again.

Plus Berlin is more hotel than hostel, which speaks to its excellent service, relative cleanliness, quality of amenities, and breadth of activities and services offered with local businesses. Small things like the extremely courteous service (24 hours, by the way), free towels, sleak building design, spacious rooms and hallways, TONS of pub crawl tours each day of multiple varieties, ample selection of daily activities, and more separate Plus from the pack. Sure, some of these things sound like things every hostel offers, but I think what's different about Plus is the sheer number of activities going on both inside and outside the hostel. It's also very affordable (roughly $20 USD/night for a 6 person room), located close to the trains/clubs, has a pool/sauna, and very fast wifi.

Great hostel for a good price in an excellent location. If I was 21 again, staying in Berlin this is a great place to crash. Comfy beds, big rooms, clean facilities and super easy to share by multiple people. Even though across the street was a loud party on the weekend, our room was silent and it was easy to sleep regardless. They offer free wifi throughout the compound, since it is huge, and can work in your room if you get lucky. They offer a breakfast for 6.50 euro, makes life easier for people on a budget, but I would just go elsewhere since it didn't look so great. In the middle between the hotel section and the restaurant area there is a nice garden with art, sculptures and places to sit and relax. The lobby also has coffee vending machines and normal ones in case you want to pick up cheap snacks. Around the corner, literally a one minute walk is the East side gallary, so if you are looking to stay close to there this is a great option.

AMAZING.. for teenagers who want to party 24/7. The walls are so thin in this place you can hear EVERY single noise outside your room and it does not stop until around 1:30 AM. You would think that booking a private room would get you a bit more luxury right? Nope, not here. The rooms are tiny and cramped with incredibly poor ventilation which in return makes them very, very hot. I received no towels, which was fine because I brought my own.. but I didn't even receive a "do not disturb" sign which might possibly have discouraged the other guests from being so loud. Furthermore, this hostel is quite a distance away from any of the main attractions so unless you don't mind walking upwards of an hour.. reconsider. Also upon talking to other people, apparently this place has had quite an issue with bed bugs too. If you want to relive your college dorm days, stay here and party! If you want to actually get some sleep, go anywhere else.

​ Plus Berlin was one of the best hostels I've ever visited. I visited Berlin in mid January, which was decidedly "off-peak". The price was fair and the amenities (pool, sauna) were a nice bonus, though I didn't use them. The hostel had a great vibe and its guests were very social. My room had four beds and an en suite bathroom which was rather nice. My only complaint concerns the mattress, which was slightly uncomfortable; it felt like the mattress was convex. Overall, great property!

Great location for a great price. Booked our rooms online and when we arrived were upgraded to a bigger room with 4 beds, fresh towels everyday, and a really hot shower! The hostel facilitates free tours with sandeman's each morning (whom by the way Joanne was insanely informative and charismatic- she was awesome) and has several breakfast and dinner options. Central to the party scene and 5 minute walking distance to the metro. Couldn't recommend it more especially for large groups.

First time staying at a hostel & they did not disappoint! I now have extremely high standards for future hostels, as Plus Berlin was one of the best places I have ever stayed. Its a HUGE hostel/hotel with a great restaurant & bar. Cheap prices for everything & the portions are HUGE, so you can most definitely split a meal with a friend. You get a free drink card upon arrival & they even have a beer vending machine in the lobby!! I will be back Plus Berlin!

Excellent! By far one of the best hostels I've ever stayed in. Location couldn't be better. Great friendly staff, very clean and loads of great amenities including a pool! Better and more fun than most Air B&B options and much better than a budget hotel. Do it!

I LOVED this hostel! It feels more like a hotel than a hostel. Just stay here. I promise you won't regret it.

The biggest hostel I've ever seen:) Not ideal when you're looking for cozy family atmosphere but great for few nights in the close vicinity of busy Kreuzberg district! We booked 4-bed dorm for a really good price, the room was nice and clean and surprisingly quiet, bathroom was in the room. The staff at Reception were always very friendly and helpful. There's free wifi and also few computers at the lobby that you can use. Also a common room with small kitchen with all appliances is there for you to use. The breakfast is not included in the price but you can buy it for 6 Euros and then you get a nice "all-you-can" eat breakfast to start your day with. The only problem was there was no hot water later in the night when we wanted to take shower.

Hands down the nicest hostel I've ever stayed in. For EUR21 you get a bed in a double room. For EUR15 you get a bed in a dorm room. Both types of rooms have ensuite bathrooms, cupboards, desks, chairs, tv, etc. Basically it's like staying in a hotel where you have to sort out the bedding for yourself (but you don't have to pay for it). Even more than that, you get free wifi in the rooms. It may not always work perfectly, but it mostly works ok. There is also a swimming pool and sauna (both free) and free table tennis. There's probably more free stuff too, but I spent most of my time out exploring Berlin. On that note, the hostel is perfectly located on the border of Friedrichshain and Kreuzberg and right next to the U-Bahn, S-Bahn and trams. Anyway, it's a non-brainer, if you need a hostel in Berlin and they still have some spare beds, stay here.

Probably the best hostel I've ever been to. Spacious rooms, clean environment, and friendly staff. Location is awesome as well, especially with MATRIX clubs basically across the street. Pool, sauna and laundry rooms are a big bonus as well. Would highly recommend.

LADIES BEWARE: the guest policy in this hostel is definitely not conducive to a safe environment, especially for female travellers. My friend and I (both females) stayed at this hostel for 3 nights and on the 3rd night, we had a man come into our room at 3am without any luggage. It was already weird that he came in at 3am as it is not within the check-in timeframe but what was even weirder was that he kept staring at us as we were in bed. My friend was asleep but fortunately I am a very light sleeper so I instantly confronted him about his weird behavior and keeping the lights on. About 15 minutes after our interaction, this strange man started masturbating in our room. When he realized that I was still awake and that I was analyzing the situation, he instantly left our room. Then, I woke my friend up and we went to the lobby to deal with this very unacceptable situation. I asked if there was a man assigned to our room and the gentleman working at the lobby responded, "yes but a few moments ago he requested a different room". I explained what had happened to the hostel employee and he then responded, "oh yes, I thought that man was strange and it was weird that the man requested a hostel room without males". Wow, so here is a list of problems with this scenario... 1. The hostel employee thought it was weird that a man wanted a female-only room at 3am but he still gave it to him. 2. The check-in time is 3pm so a 3am check-in doesn't make any sense at all. 3. The hostel employee said that he thought the man was strange yet he still did not take any precautions. If we didn't have this experience of sexual harassment then I would probably give this hostel either 2 to 3 stars for the following reasons: - Pros: the hostel is centrally located and the rooms as well as the bathrooms are spacious - Cons: the noise level (especially at night) is very high and this place has the worst hostel wifi I have ever used

This is definitely one of the best hostel's I've stayed in. It's huge, the dorm rooms are comfortable and spacious and have en-suites! The hostel is decorated to really pick up the vibe and atmosphere of Berlin. There is a breakfast room with a buffet breakfast which is something like 5 euro for all you can eat. There's also a great restaurant and bar, though on Saturday's they only have buffet which is a bit crap. There's an indoor pool and sauna which is small but nice and the staff were super friendly. It's located very close to the East Gallery and the nightlife plus a lot of great restaurants. I'd definitely stay here again.

Best hostel I've ever stayed in. Friendly staff, great facilities and great service. Not many hostels would come with things like a Mini football/futsal court/cage, Table tennis and a Swimming pool. Really clean too and seance and secure. It's also well positioned for either sightseeing or activities and definitely for nightlife. Great hostel. 100% recommended.

Had a great experience here and would highly recommend staying. The staff was super friendly and helpful, and they run a bunch of great activities in the area, like market tours and yoga on Thursday! Also in a great location, right by the S Bahn and U Bahn and east side gallery. They provided us with towels and there was even a hairdryer!! Only downside is it can get a little loud. Regardless I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Just yes. Huge space. Great rooms. Clean. Helpful staff. Tours and bar crawls that leave right from the lobby. Right next to the train and the Matrix club. Perfection.

Great place to stay. We booked a hotel room, not a hostel. The room was nice, clean and staff service was good. A/C in the room. Restaurant downstairs was pretty good food. Breakfast in the morning costs 8 Euro. Would definitely stay here again.

This is the best hostel ever!! The staff is friendly and helpful, the rooms are clean and extremely affordable, and the bar is a great place to meet new people and make new friends. In the courtyard there is an artist collective.. so random but super chill. There's a decent night club just a minute away from the hostel called Matrix, and it's in a cool, alternative neighborhood in Berlin. I would love to stay here again!

Go on Hostelworld to look at hostels (they have over 4400 reviews for PLUS), but yeah we stayed here and it was great. Awesome price, beer vending machine in the lobby, clean, private bathroom, club right next door. Couldn't have a better location, only 3 minutes from U and S bahn.
