Poco Loco

The menu was off. I ordered Club sandwich (which said on the menu that it comes with fries) and i received it with chips. Also, the avocado toast came with boiled eggs instead of poached (as it said on the menu). When I wanted to sit on a certain table, the staff memeber said to move to another one since that one was dirty (had dirty plates on it). I do not find that great to say to a customer, since the “cleaning” only took 2 minutes. Food was good, 7/10. Overall, 2 star experience, would not recommend

Absolutely wonderful place and Tony the cat is a wonderful host. Only had drinks but they were made quickly and were delicious. I hope to return one day to see Tony again and would highly recommend this place to everyone. probably the best place for drinks in Amsterdam and it was a shame to rush away to catch our flight

Stumbled upon this restaurant last week, and had a great evening. Pitchers of beer, amazing nachos with very generous toppings, and the burgers were top notch, all served quickly and was fresh and hot. Our server Arash was super friendly and helped us with the menu, as we couldn’t decide what to have, we left with very full bellies and most importantly it didn’t break the bank. Hopefully we will return on our next visit to Amsterdam :-) If you go, look out for Tony the cat 😹😻

Had 3 different wait staff, took orders but then food took ages to arrive and not both meals at the same time, as for some reason they thought we had ordered 2 of the same dish, so 3 dishes for 2 people! Food was fresh, hot and tasty. Ordered dessert which took ages again, so had to ask and they had missed it! Toilet clean, but up and down lots of steps, plus the doors open out on each other (men's/women's) and the stairs so be careful when approaching.

such a lovely place, the staff were so friendly we had the turkish bread and it was the best bread ever! the service was really quick and the staff were so smiley would definitely return! 10/10

We stumbled upon poco loco and were so so happy we did!! The food was absolutely unreal! The waitress, Helena, was so beyond accommodating and kind. I would highly highly recommend this place for amazing Mexican food! I will be returning on my next visit to Amsterdam. Thank you so much!!!

At Poco Loco, the food ranged from average to good, while the service was commendable. It was an overall good experience, but nothing that will leave you in awe. We had lunch here. We had croquettes and sandwiches with an apple cider. It was heavenly delicious. Radiant heaters were switched on against the cold so that it was nice and warm outside despite the cold. I would recommend it to anyone !

The place has nice outdoor seating. Like other places in this country, this restaurant does not offer complimentary water. You must buy them. Nonetheless, great service and food. Reasonably prices as well.

The wine and appetizers were fine. The prices were ok too. Today was a cold day in Amsterdam so my wife and I sat side by side under their space heaters and occupied two of their tiny tables. But the manager told us we can only sit across from each other at only one table. Many of their tables were vacant so we said we would move if other customers showed up. But they insisted we have to move. At this point we asked for the check and left without ordering more drinks/food. Very poor customer service.

The patio was packed! So we thought it must be great, had average stars and decided to give it a try. There was a cat wandering inside but we had already ordered drinks so just decided to stay. Should have just done drinks, the tacos were so dry and not very good. Would not recommend or come back

A great place for a meal while out sightseeing for the day. Very friendly service and a nice menu too. I was surprised to see how large the portion sizes were for the reasonable prices. I ordered a salad and asked for a grilled chicken breast instead of fried chicken and they had no problem with the substitution. The food was delicious and the drinks were very good too. They serve tap water as an option to paying for bottled water and it tasted just fine. They have outside seating with heaters for the winter. Inside seating in the bar area or upstairs where the kitchen is stationed. It was warm and cozy inside and we really liked eating her. Great place to sit outside and people watch or take a break from shopping at the local market.

My husband and I both got food poisoning from here. Not clean at all - After we ate, we used the bathroom and realized there was no soap in it and the staff had been using the same bathroom. We were also told "the chef has no idea what gluten is"

A cute little cafe on the sidewalk in the Netherlands . Stumbled upon this while walking around for quite some time. The weather was beautiful and we wanted to sit outside. The tables are a little close together and service was a little slow in terms of getting refills on beverages and that is my only "complaint". Other than that, the chicken sandwich and fries really hit the spot! It's a great spot for people watching as well! Right across the street from a little market.

The food was great just a touch on the salty side. The atmosphere was lovely and the staff was welcoming and prompt with our dishes. Thank you Poco Loco

Horrible service, waited 40 minutes to order while being ignored. Wine was not even drinkable it was so bad, do not recommend

This place has a cat chilling under our table. Putting aside the fact that it's not sanitary having a cat running around under the table while we eat. This would not normally be a big issue but my autistic brother is terrified of them. We asked the server if they can move him somewhere else out of his sight and they could not care less. I've never seen less compassionate individuals specially in a service business.

I'm so disappointed that our last meal in Europe was had here. Maybe we were spoiled since our Airbnb was situated in the heart of the Old Pijp and there's amazing restaurants around every corner. Our Sandemans tour guide recommended this spot so we decided to go since it was in the area. We should have went further from the Red Light district to get a bite. The waitress was nice but the girl helping her serve was angry. I get it that some of our table was entranced with the free WiFi and pokemon Go but she was not nice and made me feel like a stupid tourist. Lady, you work in the busiest tourist area in Europe. The food was just okay. The potatoes were just your typical potato and I'm pretty sure the puff pastry was something you could buy in a box at the store. The shrimp had barely any spices and when I dipped my bread in the trimmings it just tasted like fatty oil. Not the best experience and not the best food. I'd avoid this place if you want tapas that are unique and flavourful.

I was here for a new years eve dinner and drinks event. The area we were to eat in was tiny so thirty some people were elbowing each other or kicking each other, unintentionally of course, most of the night. The waitress that helped us did a rather good job despite the chaos going on around her. She fortunately was helped by other people on the staff who brought things out or took drink orders. It was tapas, tapas and more tapas and a beer. The food while interesting wasn't all that exciting, not bland just not tasty. Overall it was okay. I would have liked to have seen a menu to see what else they offered to customers food wise but I never did. Seeing as the Poco Loco is located on the Nieumarkt and it being new years eve, there was a crowd of revelers setting off firewooks almost constantly making it truly a spectacle to behold. The bar in Poco Loco was a welcome place to retreat to when you had too much of the crowd and mayhem outside. It's actually a nice looking bar. I am going to have to go back to another time and hang out for a few drinks there. I can't recommend going there due to the fact I only had tapas and a few beers so I'll have to go back to get a better perspective before I can recommend it.

I'm a vegetarian, and didn't expect to find much on the menu. But there were several interesting options. I went for the Vegetable (something something) Sandwich. Ho-ly crap. Best sandwich I can remember in recent memory. So many flavors. Plenty filling. Would have eaten there again for dinner if I wasn't busy exploring Amsterdam so heavily. Awesome waitress, too. I'll be going back for sure if I ever visit again.

Situated on the Nieumarkt, I've passed this place many times. It's in a very touristy location, but I looked for dutch people eating and spotting them, decided that it would be safe to at least try. I was wrong. The service was awkward, with the waitstaff clearly entertaining friends and the food was even worse. I watched plates on a number of tables be taken away half full and if I were smart (and less hungry) I would have done the same.

I was enticed to eat here as when I passed by I thought the place looked very cosy with tea lights on every table. There's a very good choice of food, they mostly have tapas which is great if you want to try a lot of things. I went for the chicken, lamb and beef skewer which didn't look a lot when it arrived but it was very filling. The service was the quickest we had compared to the other cafes and restaurants we had went to. There was also a very cute cat walking around. The restaurant is very small and I felt that the choice of drinks and desserts could have been better but other than that it was a nice meal for a good price.

Food very very average - chicken breast processed...and they made a total mess of our orders. One of us ordered a mozzarella and tomato on sour dough and they sent a chicken caeser..with pesto and then without pesto ?! waitress wasn't polite - seemed too rushed. Beer was poured awfully - massive heads . Flat as anything. All in all, avoid

My kids loved it on a rainy day. Fast service and low key Memphis vibe. we enjoyed the menu being family friendly with a lot of weekly and daily specials.

Great service and fabulous food. Chef's choice of 7 tapas dishes and fajitas are highly recommended!

I am giving this place 4 stars mainly because of their food. We ordered four tapas dishes: Spanish meatballs, fried goat cheese, potatas (patatas bravas) and filo dough pastry with chorizo. They were all pdelicious and well balanced. The service is a bit disorganized towards the beginning but everyone was polite. The place could be a bit cleaner (mirrors, windows, blinds). Overall, the food experience prevailed, so we left happy.

If I could give this place no stars, I would. I've worked in the restaurant business for years, as has my family for decades, and I've traveled the world and I have never had such a terrible experience. Poco loco is a seemingly cute place in a busy area, and the menu looked affordable and simple - great. However, after waiting 10 minutes on the busy patio, my sister and I figured that we should go in and help them out a little bit (the inside was TOTALLY empty), but three girls just stood there and looked at us, offering no assistance. We then managed to ask if we could sit ourselves on the patio (which was busy, but considering the section consisted of about 15 tables, all of which were 2-4 person tables, it didn't seem unreasonable). WE SAT THERE FOR 25 MINUTES with the previous table's dirty silverware and cups. The girls CLEARLY saw us in the corner of he patio as they cleaned the tables and served food around us. We were never actually sat. No one ever cleaned he table. No one ever gave us a menu. Horrific. There are plenty of other places to eat... don't go here....

Sat for a long time outside before being served, so my husband went indoors to be told orders were taken at the table. A dour, unfriendly and angry waitress eventually took our order. During our drinks a male waiter came and cleaned the already clean table and arranged some items, apologising for his OCD. When wanting to pay, we were told it could only be done by card as the aforementioned waitress was doing the till. When my husband informed them he did not have a card, he could only pay by cash, he was told that he would HAVE to wait 15 minutes until she had finished counting the money! My husband said "What? No! How much do we owe you?" We were then asked if we had the correct amount, fortunately we did. I thought in their business that they were supposed to wait on customers, not customers waiting on them! A VERY poor service and unacceptable attitude. Avoid at all costs!

Lucas the singing Chef is great. The food is great. Very good pricing. Ate there 3 times. Eat inside if you want good service. The managers are a bit dickish.

This place gets pretty high markes on Yelp, and I am not sure why. It's OK, but it's far from anything special. Nice sidewalk eating area, decent interior. The food was perfectly OK.
