Great location, short walk to castle and old town. Good breakfast. Friendly staff, fronted by a very helpful and friendly manager Bart.||Rooftop bar good but probably better in the summer. Loads of good reasonable priced restaurants within 15 min walk so didn't eat in hotel.||Room clean but a bit cold when we arrived. Gave us a fan heater that quickly warmed us up while heated air-conditioning got up to speed.||Overall a comfortable 3star hotel that was fine for a city break.

The staff exemplifies exceptional professionalism—consistently kind, helpful, and courteous. The hotel is ideally situated in a quiet, safe area near the castle, with downtown just a pleasant 20–30 minute walk away. The rooftop is truly wonderful, offering a memorable experience, while the rooms are impeccably clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully maintained. This property has set a new standard for excellence and is, without question, my favorite stay in Poland.

A terrible experience, the impression you get from the photos is incorrect, in real life it's something else. The bed is very small for one person, the furniture is warn out, the design and materials and size of the room is really poor. Upon my arrival I felt bad staying in that room and decided to spend just one night I couldn't handle more than that. I then booked 2 nights in the Radisson and had to return home as my budget was destroyed. They won't refund you no matter what, they don't care and any business with zero tolerance for flexibility or cancellation is a massive red flag. I had booked 7 nights with them and that's a mistake I will never make again. Out of the 7 nights I slept there only the first night, my 2nd and 3rd night in Radisson, by the 3rd day I decided to leave Krakow due to the bad experience and lack of budgets having double booked 2 hotels like that. If I knew how this pod Wawelem looks like, I would have just opted out for Radisson in the first place. One thing that really misled me are the reviews! How can this place get 4.5 *!!!!! Its a 1* at best

The best location, right beside the old town and 15 min walk to the Jewish quarter. Bedrooms basic, but more than adequate, with comfy beds. Also spotless, with maid service daily. Shower temperature could be a tad temperamental though. Lovely breakfast. Packed lunch ready for us for a 6.30 pick up for a tour, this was a massive bonus! The rooftop bar was fabulous. Such amazing views up and down the river. Staff super friendly, with a special mention to Bart who went out of his way to make us feel welcome, and was full of information. Tea and coffee making in the room, though no milk sachets, that said, I feel nothing was too much hassle for the staff so they would have likely got this for us if we’d asked. Our room was on the 5th floor, right underneath the rooftop bar, this could be a little noisy at times, especially at closing time when the dishwasher was put on. We would stay again, but ask for a room on a lower floor. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Incredible staff at Pod Wawalem Hotel. As soon as we arrived in Krakow and made it to our hotel, we were greeted by a wonderfully bright and bubbly man ready to genuinely help. Our room was not yet ready, but he took our bags to keep safe while we went to get lunch and sightsee. When we returned, he remembered us, checked us in expediently, and gave us all the pertinent details we needed to make the most of our stay. In the other hotels we’ve stayed at in Poland, we were lucky to be looked in the eyes when they slid our keycards over, but at Pod Wawalem, the staff are attentive and helpful. We had a super early flight and needed a car for 3am. The man working on the weekends was so so kind. He arranged for the car and when we arrived to check out, he had cheese sandwiches, water, yogurt and apples available for us so we wouldn’t be hungry at the airport. That’s above and beyond! We were so warmed by it. The room was well appointed, clean and functional. On the smaller side, but we are used to that in Europe. It really capped off an amazing trip. Thank you Pod Wawalem staff!

I was recommended to stay here by a Polish friend and we weren't disappointed! The location is perfect - only a 15 min walk to the centre of the Old Town and lovely views across the river. |Our rooms were spotlessly clean and quiet. Whilst not huge- they were more than sufficient for our city break stay and the rooms were cleaned and towels refreshed daily. |The breakfast was good (although it would be beneficial to guests to label the dishes, as we were trying to guess what things were) They were so accommodating when we requested a really early take away breakfast for a trip we were doing too. All staff we encountered were friendly and efficient! The restaurant was lovely and food delicious. The Sky Bar is a MUST as views are gorgeous especially at sunset. Welcome prosecco was a bonus too!|Bart was so funny and really personable. He made sure our stay was as it should be and kept checking how we were .|Would definitely recommend this hotel!! We may return one Christmas too.

Fantastic location overlooking the river and the castle. Excellent friendly atmosphere. Rooms were spotless and great value for the money. Breakfast was great to start the day. But it was the staff which shone the most - nothing was to much trouble.

We arrived at 9pm, the man behind the desk was very helpful giving us tips and directions. We were given 2 vouchers for a glass of Prosecco on the rooftop bar which is a nice touch. We booked a buggy tour of the 3 areas through the reception desk and got a good price. The rooms were basic but comfortable. The breakfast was good too! All in all a very nice hotel!

Yelp
Rooms are fair, couldn't get the air conditioner to work. Front Desk associates are fantastic and very helpful. The sauna at the hotel was relaxing, clean and secure. Pillows were comfortable and beds fairly comfortable.
