We had a wonderful experience at Podwale 25! The restaurant serves delicious traditional Polish food, and everything we tried was full of flavor and beautifully presented. One of the highlights was the soup served in bread – warm, hearty, and absolutely satisfying. Dessert was another standout – not only was it delicious, but the portion was impressively generous, perfect for sharing (or not!). We also tried the house-made liqueur, which turned out to be a real gem – smooth, flavorful, and definitely a must-try if you’re visiting. The atmosphere at Podwale 25 is cozy and inviting, with a charming and relaxed vibe that made the whole meal even more enjoyable. A great spot to experience authentic Polish cuisine in a warm setting. Highly recommended!

First time in Warsaw, and we were excited to try the pork knuckle. We had to wait a little while to be seated since we didn't have a reservation, but our waiter was very friendly and quickly took our drink order, offering some great suggestions. He even brought us a complimentary plate of sauerkraut and pickles to start. We went with a Greek salad and the crispy pork knuckle with potatoes and bread, and it was absolutely delicious! We chose to sit outside, and it was really charming. There was live music playing while we dined, which made the experience even more special. Overall, the food was fantastic.

We visited this place while exploring the Old Town in Warsaw. The place offers a charming and unique atmosphere, with plenty of seating available both inside and outside in a pleasant inner courtyard. The staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming and they even helped us choose a great table, which added to the overall positive experience. The menu is extensive and features a wide variety of traditional Polish dishes. I ordered the Austrian schnitzel, which was not only delicious but also impressively large and it was definitely a great choice. There are also many meat-based options available, making it a good spot for meat lovers. As a nice surprise, we were offered a small glass of cherry liqueur at the end of our meal, which was a lovely touch. I would recommend this place to anyone looking to enjoy local cuisine in a friendly and relaxed setting.

the service is definitely what stood out. i was served by a wonderful waitress, that always attended to my needs. i was pleasantly surprised by all the complementary items i was serviced that were on the house. the atmosphere was also amazing, the terrace was so beautiful and we even had live music players. it was my first time trying polish food - i had the zabka in bread, it was very interesting to say the least!

This popular restaurant offers authentic polish gastronomy and I strongly recommend going there if you’re around old town. I don’t remember the name of the dishes but you can see the photos. Food was so good and was my first time drinking hot beer (it was very delicious by the way).

Was Part of a team dinner and was a great atmosphere. Ari, our waitress was super friendly. The chicken noodle soup, cold starters (Caesar salad, sausages, herring), the grilled duck with skin was top notch. The local beer was surprisingly smooth, cold and refreshing in a hot summer day. The dessert was an Apple Pie, we were the last to leave so delivered a bit late, but it was warm and Ari was sweet enough to charm us into having it. You would need a walk after in the old city (near by) such sumptuous meal.

Good local food with joyful live music of two people walking around the tables. Well dressed and kind service employees. I went there twice on my 2-day trip.

Google
Such a great place, a restaurant with character. We were full from lunch I so we had a light dinner. I could say that the portions were abbondante and the food was delicious. Great service and amazing atmosphere with life music. I strongly recommend it! It was quite cheap too.

Yelp
On the quest for something other than pierogies we came across Podwale 25. Which looks like one of those themed tourist trap restaurants. Was it ? probably not, but yes it was an experience. Amazing decor, and a nice big restaurant with outside seating. As for the food, probably could have used more flavor but have to toss that thought out because polish cooking is obviously different than the cuchifritos around the corner. Pork Knuckle w/ Potatoes and Cabbage - Loved the pork best thing on the plate Stuffed Cabbage w/ Potatoes - This needed more salt between the meat and the sauce. I'd personally pass but if this is your thing go with it. Pickles and Cabbage - Appetizer starter. The pickles were great.

Yelp
Food was phenomenal! And you definitely can't go wrong with litres of beer and house made lemon vodka. The 3 stars are because of the exceptionally slow service. I hope we just had a bad server, and that it's not always an hour wait to get a second round of beers, and another hour to get the check. I'm not a fast diner, but 3 hours is excessive to be at a simple dinner for two people.

Yelp
What a wonderful place to eat. I mean did you see the size of the beer? For an appetizer dill pickles and sauerkraut are brought to the table which is of no charge. Then the food. Delicious and large portions. My grilled chicken dinner was a half of chicken french fries chopped purple cabbage and sauerkraut. My husband ordered the sour rye soup. It came in a bread bowl It had boiled egg and white sausage in it. Extremely tasty. At 8 in the evening a three piece band came in our area to play great music. People were singing and having a great time. When you receive the bill you get a cherry cordial free. A great place to eat, drink, and hang out

Yelp
What an amazing place to start our first day in Warsaw with authentic Polish food! Despite coming in at an awkward time between lunch and dinner, it was relatively busy (but not crowded). For appetizers we ordered sauerkraut and mushroom pierogi that I have been craving for soooooo long, but our waiter also brought complimentary dill pickles and sauerkraut! Everything on the menu is very affordable, especially for the HUGE portions. We had sea bream and the salmon/ratatouille as our main dishes which were fantastic. The total bill came out to 99 PLN for the two of us, which is about $26. Almost everything on the menu was no more than 30 or 40 PLN--you could get a steak dish for under 10 bucks... I absolutely loved dining at Podwale 25, if you're looking for a nice sit-down restaurant with a cozy atmosphere, friendly service, and best of all a delicious meal in Old Town, this place is a huge bang for the buck!

Yelp
I AM SO HAPPY PODWALE 25 OPENS LATE. My flight was delayed and I was starving! I was extremely happy to see Podwale was the one place that was open and within walking distance to my hostel! The first thing I had to try was of course, A PIEROGI! I got the pierogi filled with cheese & potatoes and a side of the Wild Mushrooms Soup. The pierogi was DELICIOUS!! The Wild Mushrooms Soup... I came, I warSAW, I... couldn't even finish the rest of my soup.

Yelp
Back in 2004 my team was in Poland for training in preparation to deploy with the Polish Special Forces to Iraq. They brought us to this Amazing food and Piwo (Beer) restaurant. I have remembered it ever since. Fourteen years later I had the opportunity to bring my wife to Poland and introduce her to this wonderful restaurant. The only problem, I couldn't remember where it was. Needless to say after arriving in the Warsaw Old Town Market, I immediately found it!!!! Fourteen years later the beer was still flowing and cold - I went with the Polish beer Zyskie - of course I did the 1L glass (17 zl) - a nice pale-lager that has history behind it...introduced in 1629. They give you a small plate with fresh home made sauerkraut and two dill pickles. Fantastic! I HAD to go for the Polish Pork chop - a breaded schnitzel that was larger than the plate...10+ inches (see the picture). The schnitzel (23 zl) came with lemon and a cold-large chunk potato salad. The schnitzel was wafer-thin and was just as good as I had remembered. I would have liked a little more vinaigrette on the potato's. My wife went with the Pierogi Wilenskie (dumplings) filled with potato and cheese (8 dumplings for 19 zl) and Zupa Grzybowa (wild mushroom soup Polish Style - 15 zl). The Pierogi were NOT Mrs T's - these are the exact same recipe that I grew up with from the Rome, NY Polish Home. Not doughy, with a nice butter crust from the pan and a great texture of potato and cheese. The soup was earthy but no too think or heavy - perfect for a snowy day. They make a great home-made Cytrynówka (40ml - 12 zl) - Lemon Vodka 96%....a must have to complete any meal Podwale 25 Piwna Kompania did not disappoint 14 yrs ago and it did not disappoint me today Will we go back: ABSOLUTELY!! Before we fly out and Every time we are in Poland!!!

Yelp
Extremely disappointed with the service. We organized a party for thirty people. Yes, there was plenty of food (actually, way too much - don't get their most expensive menu) but the real problem was not having enough water. Consider that water with ice (not very much of it) was included in price per person but we had to ask for it multiple times and wait for at least half an hour before they brought it. Ridiculous!

Yelp
I ate at this chain 4 times during my stay in Poland. The atmosphere and ambiance is great and the food is fantastic. The staff wears traditional folk Polish clothes. Traditional Polish dishes with huge portions and extremely affordable. Can't recommend this place enough.

Yelp
Waiter Marcin... the worst I've ever had! He was waiting for our money (the bill) like a wolf with a sheep! AND THEN HE ASKED A REVIEW ABOUT HIM! How could you ask us a review, are you crazy? I've to add that I've almost visited the whole Europe and the polish cuisine is one of the worst. Try the meat in the Balkans, for example! The only good thing: the beer.

Yelp
Same owner as "U Szweja" restaurant, butane a bit more expensive. This one is very wall located in old town of Warsaw. They have a huge menu where you can eat as much as you want. Dishes are very big and beers too. You can book a table, available for groups and kids menu too!

Yelp
My old town favorite restaurant. One of the best mussels, freshly delivered on Thursday and Friday.

Yelp
If you're looking for good food at a great price and super comfortable atmosphere, this place is for you! Our waiter, Pawel, was so attentive and nice. We felt very welcome! We appreciated the English menu. For those wondering, they also have a kids menu. We left stuffed and satisfied! Would definitely recommend!!

Yelp
Awesome authentic food. Portions are huge, consider it when ordering :) They serve as a compliment from the house a plate with sauerkraut and pickled cucumbers. We ordered two different soups, sausages and duck. Everything except the duck was very tasty. The duck, for my personal taste, was very dry and even the abundance of sauce did not save it. The service is very mediocre, for a long time nobody approached us to take an order.

Chris P.

Yelp
I wonder what happened to this płace. Is it under new Management ? On comparison to my previous visits Food quality and service seems to go dramatically South. Being ignored by a waiter for about 20 minutes, then having Half duck dish that looked like a complete mess on my plate (2 legs, one covered with thick layer of red sauce). Good news; one liter of Beer on Monday's menu will cost you PLN 8.50.

Yelp
Last night was the first time I have eaten at Podwale 25. We started with some lemon vodka, a great way to begin the meal! After vodka we had the mushroom soup, a very tasty treat packed full of shrooms, the tasty kind not the trippy kind. Bring on the meat! Our group shared the meat sampler, lots of tasty stuff, I was pleasantly surprised with the blood sausage, it was tasty well seasoned. For my main I had the duck, the seasoning was on point but it was a bit dry, a bit cold and a bit over cooked. The seasonal beer on tap was quite pleasant, the perfect accompaniment to the dry duck. Aside from the sad quacker (duck) my only complaint was that our cheese plate that was ordered as a starter was actually a finisher, it showed up towards the end of the meal. The service was excellent, our happy bubbly waitress was very helpful and welcoming! As always at Podwale we finished our evening with complimentary home made cherry vodka, a great way to end our dining experience! See you soon P 25! Next time I will try the ribs next, the table next to me ordered them and they looked amazing!

Yelp
I liked it very much. I was looking for authentic polish food with nice atmosphere and that was exactly what I got. The service was also very good!

Yelp
Loved it! Great food, generous serves. Good service, much better than a nearby restaurant which had recommendations but no service!

Yelp
Fit for the family - This is an ideal restaurant for those with small children and big parties (which ended up characterizing my group with the inclusion of my 5-year-old nephew and all of my husband's relatives) so we ended up here for dinner. The casual atmosphere of checkered plastic tablecloths and country decor made it feel homey and comfortable enough for kids to mess up, plus they offered a children's menu and large family style dishes to share. The highlights: +Decent menu prices not only included huge portions but also complementary cabbage and pickles prior to our entrees. +The huge platters of meat and seafood, along with the sides of rice and more cabbage, offered a ton of variety and served way more than the eight people we had at the table. The low lights: -Because of the restaurant name, we expected more beer selection. (To alleviate this issue, there was at least the option of ordering FULL liter glasses, which felt like we were drinking out of pitchers.) -All the entree food off of the platters was pretty bland and mostly all fried on the seafood side. And our Camembert appetizer disappointingly had more breading than cheese. Final verdict- If that night had only been my husband and I looking for a dinner date location, we would not have chosen this restaurant. So when we return to visit relatives in Warsaw, we would probably only return here if we were entertaining all the younger nieces and nephews in the family circle.

Yelp
Good Polish food! The food here seemed never ending and the wine was great as well. I highly recommend trying a bowl of the mushroom soup, which was simply delicious. I ate almost all of it, and heard the other soups available were tasty, too.

Yelp
Big portions. Good value and everything. I just didn't think the big meat platter was tasty. Pierogi was nice, but u don't like fried pierogi.

Yelp
Awesome. Enough food to fill your stomach. Good, service was beyond excellent. Priced great. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Yelp
Wow - what a fun experience! Fun, Austrian theme with Polish overtones. On contrast to other reviews herein, food was tasty and dirt cheap, staff ultra-attentive. Had muscles smothered in blue cheese, classic pierogies for apps, and pork ribs glazed with honey and pine nuts (who woulda thunk?) as main course. Absolutely yummy!

P H.

Yelp
Watch out - a single dish portion there is more than enough for two! Overall, the food is average in its quality. If you're planning to have several beers and take some sides this place will most probably work. Otherwise, especially when looking for more strictly culinary experience you may be disappointed.

Yelp
Went there yesterday with a very good friend of mine and have to admit that Kompania Piwna rocks! I've never eaten so much food in my entirelife and, coming from the States, it means something! The decor is supposed to be Austrian and it kinda is, the staff is very efficient but a tad on the official side. But food- God damn! I recommend to take daily specials: they are huuuge and half the price of regular items.

Yelp
The food is not that good. It is more of a tourist restaurant. It is good place if you are very hungry because the portions are very large. If you are not that hungry, just order an apertizer, that will fill you up just fine. Most people here are ordering 1 litre size mugs of light coloured beer. If you like quality craft neer, this is not the place for you. They did have a good dark beer that was bottled in half litre size and reasonable price.
