We love Poetry Building. We have just stayed there for the fourth time and after 5 weeks driving around Argentina, we agree that it is really the nicest place to stay in the country. The apartments are exceedingly comfortable with good kitchens and bathrooms. We love the furnishings and the fantastic taste of the building. The staff are wonderful, so friendly and helpful, especially Carlos, who deserves a special mention. Poetry Building is very discreet and well situated in Recoleta within walking distance of very good restaurants and our favourite helado shop. We would never stay anywhere else in Buenos Aires.

This is one of the nicest and most unique places we’ve stayed in our travels. |A truly unreal ambiance with eclectic decor with a modern touch!|We splurged for a loft room over the studio (which looked excellent also)! |The loft bedroom was unique and romantic. My wife loved it!|The kitchen was handy, and there are a small market and bakeries literally right around the corner), making it just a quick trip out in the morning for a sweet treat and Lattes for the room. ||The thing that really “made” our stay at the Poetry Building was the people that work there.|They were so helpful with giving us a few suggestions for things to see, what’s close (walkable), and what’s worth the trip across town for. Recommendations for culture, shopping, restaurants (steaks), and sweets (pastries). |Our trip was quick (3 days, and we had rain during them ☹️) but the staff gave us great ideas (and umbrellas!) that made our trip awesome! ||We had no idea this was the #3 hotel in BA on trip advisor, we just found it online and booked it!! What a hidden gem! |THIS PLACE IS THE ONE TO BOOK for your Buenos Aries trip. Stop scrolling and book it!

Guess a bit unfair but if travelling Feb 25 there is construction work going on which a reviewer here said was excessive. We booked for 3 nights but were informed the noise would be minimal. The reviewer seems more credible than the hotel. Beware. We cancelled as got the same answer on noise when we went back as we had on originally booking.

We loved our 3 night stay at Poetry building - wish we could have stayed longer.|The apartment was spacious and had all the amenities we needed and the bed was really comfortable. My only gripe would be that I would have liked a bit more water pressure in the shower.|The location is perfect to explore and we felt very safe at all times.

When looking for a landing spot in Buenos Aires, I was having trouble finding just the right place, until I saw a recommendation for Poetry Building! I am so pleased with the accommodation we received here! The location is so convenient, close walking distance to Recoleta mall, historical sights, restaurants, and transportation. The staff were so kind, welcoming, and helpful. The service began before our trip with emailed information and recommendations. It was so helpful to us to have safe, secure transportation from EZE to Poetry set up through the hotel, especially since this was our first trip to BA and we arrived late at night. We received recommendations for where to exchange money, too. The hotel upgraded us and even provided a bottle of wine! The accommodations were comfortable, with a king size bed, kitchen, and living area. The common areas including the reception area, small pool deck, and garden terrace are beautiful and welcoming. I highly recommend Poetry!

We stayed in a charming apartment in the Poetry Building. Beautiful high ceilings, balconies, comfortable beds and top-staff. Very secure and lovely in the perfect neighborhood. The building and neighborhood had a lovely Parisian feel. Highly recommend.

There was a lot to like about this room and the staff. Clean room with kind multi-lingual desk attendants. It's within 12-minute walking distance of two subway lines and located in a nice enough area. Loved the bakery around the corner! Unfortunately I disagree with Poetry Building's policy (as of 2024) of not informing customers about planned construction until after the customer has already booked, and downplaying the impact it would have on their stay. After I booked, I received an email stating there was planned construction next door but "rest assured that we do not expect any disturbance to your stay as a result of the ongoing project." It also stated the paid price had already been discounted... but it's the off-season and many places are discounted, construction or not. We agreed to the stated price assuming it was under usual circumstances, so being told after booking that it was a discounted price due to construction wasn't compelling. And the construction absolutely did disturb our stay, from around 7:30am to 5pm every day but one. Based on the email we were prepared for some noise but this was headache-inducing and relentless. Hours of jarring, echoing hammering and drilling on what sounded like the other side of the wall. We got ready quickly each morning and tried not to come back until evening if we could help it. The desk attendant told us to let them know if the construction was a problem and they'd make arrangements next door to adjust. We asked for such an adjustment to be made on one day so we could finally sleep. They were kind and I'm sure did their best, but the construction noise started up same as usual on that day. I know you can't always control the sounds around you in a city but I didn't appreciate the lack of transparency and the failure to successfully help, after offering, when we spoke up. My caution to readers is that there may be construction planned for when you're booking; if you're informed after booking of construction they may be underestimating the noise level; and after you arrive and they offer to make an adjustment, they may not actually be able to help. I hate to leave a poor star rating when there was such kind staff who was accommodating in every other way, but the terrible sleep really impacted our trip. We left survey feedback to this effect several days before leaving this review. If Poetry Building increases their PRE-BOOKING transparency this will be a great place. Edit: I appreciate the owner's response. It mentions an offer to change rooms which I don't understand; I don't think we received that offer.

Staying at the Poetry Building has been a very pleasant experience. Everything was perfect. Will certainly come back if in Buenos Aires again
