Poets' Corner Hostel

Stayed here for 3 nights. From the very beginning felt welcome in the place by the staff who were so friendly and helpful. it is a very small and cozy hostel, the homey feeling is guaranteed! Location is also fantastic, super close to the old town (3-4 minutes walk to the upper square!). You will not feel lonely here as the place is small (yet has a nice kitchen and common area) so making friends and hanging out for a drink is easy! Overall a charming hostel which I'd absolutely recommend to anybody traveling to Olomouc!

The atmosphere and service were simply wonderful. The place was clean, quiet and very cozy. The attendants were very attentive, helpful and gave great recommendations. We even got treated to some pancakes and bacon for breakfast one morning which was great! 😀 I would definitely recommend this hostel due to the service and its close proximity to the city center.

One of my favourite hostels in the Czech Republic. This is a really welcoming, relaxed and homely place. The staff go out of their way to make sure that you get the most of out of your time in Olomouc. Kevin's recommendations were all spot on. I've just returned from my third visit. Looking forward to visiting again soon!

I booked only for one night and I stayed 3... Such a great place to live. The hostel is friendly and welcoming. The staff is Amazing. I really recommand it. Moreover, I didn't know Olomouc, and I'm really happy to have spend few days here. City center is beautiful, museums, Church.... Have a break to Olomouc.

Loved the laid back, mellow, and homelike vibe of Poet's Corner. Mind you we were visiting during the off season but new owner Ian and his family run a great place. The beds were comfortable and the hostel is centrally located. Would stay there again for sure.

I liked the atmosphere of this place, but it doesn't need to fit everyone's expectation. The location is good, and the same goes for the hospitality of the hostel. Staff was very nice, with perfect English, and willing to help. From the point of me being a guest, I can not complain. If you like this old style, I believe you might enjoy your stay at this place. As I was visiting my friend who worked as volunteer at the hostel at the time of my visit, I witnessed my friend being fired for some lame reason. He was accused of stealing money without any proof and this whole thing looks more like an excuse. I don't like this approach, as I work myself and I wouldn't like anyone I work for to treat me this way. EDIT: Thank you for additional information, Ian and The Poets. I find your answer interesting, as it gives me another point of view. But it was also offensive towards me at first, as you were referring to me as Mathiue's ex-girlfriend every time you addressed me or talk about Mathieu in your response. Thank you for correcting it. The original response pointed to the other topic as the one that was initially my point, which was treatment of the employees at the hostel. I have no such history with Mathieu and I consider myself as neutral observer of the whole situation on Sunday, and your reaction to my review.

Heavenly rooms flooded with natural light, comfortable beds and superb friendly professional staff. The stairs are no big deal.and the views of the city and mountains and quiet atmosphere are well worth the steps up compared to a street level room.

Cozy,clean place. Also nice people. The owner waited for us and he was so nice with us. 😲he suggested us what we can visit, he also gave us map. If you want to play a game, you have plenty of games there. If you want to read,you have plenty of books to choose from. I recommend this place. If I will come back in Olomouc,for sure I will stay there.
