Stayed for one night as a special festive treat and to enjoy the Hark the Herald Christmas concert at Ely Cathedral. |The room was stunning, well appointed, spotlessly clean and overlooked the cathedral. ||We enjoyed dinner and cocktails before the concert. The food was excellent with lots of gluten free options and service was absolutely amazing. ||Definitely recommend if you fancy a bit of luxury in a beautiful setting.

A good location in Ely as close to the Cathedral and the town centre. Our room at the front had a nice view across to the Cathedral. Good decoration in the rooms and the public areas. There is a lovely outside garden area where you can also eat. The hotel was very clean and and the service was to a good standard. We stayed 2 nights and had a very nice evening meal there one night.|There is no onsite parking but you can drop off luggage in the small courtyard but then the car has to be parked offsite in a car park. Would recommend for a stay in Ely

Booked a one night stay to be close to the Cathedral for the annual Christmas Fair which worked really well as the hotel is a short walk away and with the dreadful weather it was good to have a base close by. This is our second stay at the hotel and this time we took advantage of their complimentary parking which is a short walk from the hotel (you need to go to the hotel first to checkin and drop off luggage), I don’t like small hotel car parks but this wasn’t too bad with reasonable space sizes and felt secure with a barrier requiring a code for entry and exit. We stayed in Room 10 which is at the front of the hotel so enjoys views of the Cathedral, comfortable bed and spacious bathroom (thankfully with the bath in it rather than in the bedroom), also a separate waterfall shower. Breakfast very good and service excellent throughout our stay. Highly recommended.

We stopped off here for a one night escape just before Christmas for my birthday. Absolutely loved the hotel and stunning room overlooking the cathedral. Everywhere was beautifully decorated for Christmas and service was spot on. Great dinner too with lovely food choices. We thoroughly enjoyed our one night trip x

We had a fantastic family lunch from the Christmas menu. The service was outstanding, warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The food was delicious and beautifully prepared, and the Christmas atmosphere was just lovely, very festive, cosy, and perfect for a family get-together. We all left happy, full, and very much in the Christmas spirit. Highly recommended!

We had a small romantic wedding at the Poets House in October 2025. Sara and the team went above and beyond to make our day so special. A great wedding venue with wonderful staff. Thank you to Sara and the team, you were amazing 👏

We absolutely adored staying at Poet's House in Ely! Our family had traveled in for a wedding at The Old Hall and found the town of Ely to be completely charming. I cannot imagine any other lodging option that would've been more charming! Our rooms were beautiful, the bed so comfortable, and the relaxing soaking tub was the perfect end to a wonderful wedding celebration. All the appointments and details are too many to mention here but if you ever have an opportunity to visit the Cambridgeshire area, you would be lucky to stay here. I have to give a special shout out to the general manager, Christine, for going above and beyond to help us. We had ordered taxis to the wedding and the first taxi went without incident, but the second taxi left our group. Another taxi was not available for almost an hour so Christine drove us to the wedding so that we would not be late for the event. She absolutely a perfect guide on the drive and so very kind! The breakfast was delicious and the service perfect in the restaurant and the bar. I simply cannot say enough nice things !
