⭐️ – A Breakfast That Left a Bad Taste… Literally and Figuratively 🍳☕🚫
Had breakfast at Poets Restaurant (inside the Indigo Hotel), and unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience from the moment I walked in.
When I arrived, I was immediately told, “We’re short-staffed,”—no “Good morning,” no “Welcome,” just straight into the disclaimer. Not the warmest way to be greeted before coffee. Once I was seated, the waitress walked over and said, “If you just want coffee, sit at the bar.” I told her I wanted to eat as well, but she didn’t really listen—just pointed out that I already had water and walked away. Again, no greeting, no acknowledgment, no basic hospitality.
It took 10–15 minutes before she returned to take my order. I asked for the eggs benedict, which, when it arrived, was so over-salted it was almost inedible. I managed maybe a fourth of the plate before giving up. The coffee was forgettable too—flat, weak, nothing special.
But honestly, the worst part wasn’t even the food. It was the atmosphere, which felt unwelcoming, rushed, and inattentive. At no point did I feel like a guest, or even like a customer. It felt like I was in the way.
Bottom line: The setting may look nice, but the service was cold, the food was disappointing, and I walked out more annoyed than full. Definitely would not recommend, and I won’t be returning.
