I am writing to express my extreme disappointment following a recent three-night stay at Point A Hotel Glasgow, located at 80 Bath Street (G2 2EN).
From the moment I checked in, the experience was far below acceptable standards for any hotel—let alone one charging nearly £700 for a three-night stay. The room I was given felt more like a jail cell than a hotel room: extremely small, windowless, and lacking the most basic amenities. The lack of natural light and poor ventilation made the space uncomfortable, with lingering moisture and unpleasant odors after using the washroom or taking a shower.
I was shocked to learn that room service is not provided unless you pay an additional £8 per night. This meant that during my entire stay, no one changed the bed sheets or emptied the very small garbage bin in the bathroom—something that should be standard in any hotel, regardless of tier.
Additionally, the atmosphere in the hotel was unwelcoming. The lobby lighting was consistently turned off, giving the unsettling feeling of being in a war zone rather than a place of rest and hospitality.
I understand that cost-saving measures are common in the hospitality industry, but there is a clear line between efficiency and neglect. What I experienced was the latter.
This was a complete waste of money, and I would strongly discourage anyone from staying at this hotel. It fails to deliver even the most basic comforts expected of a budget stay, let alone one at this price point.
Sincerely,
Ali Abbas
