Interesting and beautiful place. Friendly interpreter. You can climb the lighthouse with one of the guides who will have many interesting stories for you on your way up. You can try free Labrador tea. Cash only!

We arrived at 4:15 and the staff made sure we knew they closed at 5 and could we please make our trip up the tower immediately. It is a beautiful museum and we enjoyed climbing the tower. We went into the gift shop at 4:45 and were certainly aware they were in a hurry to close. The staff were all out the driveway before we even returned to our car. We drove out around 5:05. If you are coming on the Blanc Sablon Ferry, be sure to make haste if you want to visit the lighthouse stress free.

Climb the 132 steps for the "point of love" (Amour means love). The top 30 steps are on two ladders. The interpreters stop every 10 stairs so it's not a difficult activity. It's a spectacular view from the 2nd tallest lighthouse in Canada! Also while climbing the tower, watch for fossils in the stone including a frog! Check out the displays on the second floor about shipwrecks, and crafts and dress up for kids.

This is the tallest lighthouse in Atlantic Canada. We came to visit in early June and there were many icebergs and even a field of pack ice near the shores (there are some binoculars available). The lighthouse itself is interesting, with various exhibits about local history and culture (including even some natural history). There are some hands on activities, such as making a bracelet of Morse code and dressing up in vintage clothing. I liked how you can go up and see the top of the lighthouse.

A must-see attraction in Labrador, located just a 20-minute drive from the Blanc Sablon Ferry terminal, is the historic lighthouse. The friendly staff offer an educational tour highlighting the house's history and invite visitors to climb the lighthouse with them. This lighthouse, the second tallest in Atlantic Canada and the tallest one open for climbing, offers a fantastic view of the ocean from its peak. If you're fortunate, you may even spot some whales while enjoying the breathtaking scenery.

Went out to the lighthouse for an afternoon to take our son out to show him. Climbed the stairs to the top and learned some history along the way. Nice little outing to pass some of the day away.

One of the best lighthouse experiences. The museum at the bottom had the usual info about the life of the lighthouse keepers, but there's a lot of other info about shipwrecks, daring rescues, and the people of the area. A guide will take you to the top for incredible views. The wind may whistle outside, but there's no movement of the tower. The diorama inside shows the construction with stone and brick walls several feet thick. If you're lucky, Albert will be your guide. Get him talking about growing up there, and the various people who have come to see the place, that he is related to!

A steep climb to the top but worth it. It was foggy when I got there. Hoping to see it again on a clear day before I leave Labrador
