Point Arena Light offers stunning coastal views, a charming museum, and a delightful gift shop, making it a must-visit gem along California's shoreline.
Very scenic and cool lighthouse! You can drive all the way out to the lighthouse and see the lighthouse cat, Mina, in the way in. For additional fee you can go up into the lighthouse and climb up the original staircase. The gift shop and museum is very quirky and cute as well with a lot of history. The docents really gave us a ton of info and we learned a lot!

Beautiful setting, majestic views. Worth the effort. We drove up from Bodage Bay. The trip up and back was a little scary in some places because of the switchbacks and hairpin turns. Please be careful and let your passengers enjoy the view. I don't think we will ever forget that trip. Just exhilarating and amazing, still buzzing about the views and I bet I make a poster out of one of the pics we took at Point Arena lighthouse. Just a beautiful place.

MAY 2025: Amazing lighthouse tour. In May of 2025, it was $5 per person to enter the grounds, stroll around, and see the gift shop and one-room museum. VERY reasonable! But go the extra mile (if you can manage 100+ steps on a spiral staircase) and tour the top of the lighthouse for the small additional fee of $5 per person. The view from the top was exquisite and the guide gives you a very interesting history of the lighthouse! This is a must-see.

One of best hidden gems across the California coast. Must visit,
and take the tour of the lighthouse. Be mindful of narrow space while taking stairs to reach the top. And yes the view is absolutely worth it!

Go to the lighthouse! Beautiful spot, worth a visit, definitely do the tour, go up for the view and some history. The gift shop is so fun, too, very hard to walk through and not come out with a souvenir... Or 3. All of the staff were an absolute delight, just good people doing something they seem to love. Our visit here was a bright spot, a wonderful memory, and I will be looking forward to next time.

This place was so cool. We opted to pay a little extra and go up to the top of the lighthouse. My kids loved it. It was worth it for that reason. There are really good views from the top of the lighthouse but really the views are incredible everywhere you go on the lighthouse peninsula or any of the surrounding areas. The museum / gift shop has some interesting things to see like the original fresnel lens that was up in the top of the lighthouse and also the original fog horn was interesting to see along with historical information all about the objects and the lighthouse.

We rolled in to go to the top of lighthouse and see that view. When we got there we had the most amazing conversation with a docent. He explained what to look for to easily see whales. Thankfully he changed our entire experience. We saw whales everywhere after our time with him. Thank you so much for making our first whale watching experience so memorable❤️

Pay the extra money (around $5 per person) to take the tour of the lighthouse. You won't regret it. Beautiful views and a lot of history to be learned.
