All the good reviews are from, like, 5 years ago. It’s January 2026 and the best advice is to avoid this place. The kitchen staff don’t really care what they serve up. I had a $22- ‘beef’ burger that was a stale small cheap white Woolies bun with heated up frozen pattie, a small somewhat soggy bit of lettuce and tomato, nothing else; these guys should be ashamed. The whole place is dirty and decrepit. The tables we got were the cheapo plastic Bunnings foldable tressles, sagging in the middle. Drinks were very expensive (I suspect they added some unofficial ‘tourist tax’.

“Manager” BUSTED. We visited the Bowls club yesterday at lunchtime while waiting for the bus back to Dunwich. Ordered 2 x large baskets of chips & some garlic bread. The place was almost empty. I went to collect the food when it was ready & sitting on top of the servery. The apparent “Manager” (not sure who he was, but he seemed to be giving instructions to staff) walked into the kitchen as I arrived to get the food. He didn’t see me. As he walked past the food he went to grab a chip out of the food waiting to be picked up. NOT COOL MATE. As his hand was almost on the chip he saw me. His expression was that of Bart Simpson caught with his hand in the cookie jar. I told him he was busted (in a smart-arsed sort of way of course) & took my food. The casualness with which he went for the chip made me think that this was normal behaviour for him. This review is not to put people off going to the Bowlo. The barman & the female staff there that day were super friendly & efficient. I would just prefer that old mate the chip seagull gets a wrap over his knuckles & stops pinching food from customers plates.

Went to the Point Lookout Bowls club tonight for dinner. We had a table of 4, places our orders and waited for our food to arrive. We were VERY DISAPPOINTED with what was received. 2 people orders the Seafood Bisque, they both came out different. 1 had a fresh prawn but very little sauce while the other one had no prawn and a little bit more sauce. Not sure what happened there. There was also 2 mussels but the mussels looked like they were from a tin. All the little prawns were definitely tined prawns. Another meal was the Panko Crumbed Barramundi which looked and tasted like frozen INJ fish that they got from the frozen aisle at Woolies. There was also a Garlic Bread order which came out very cold and uneditable. The entrees also came out at the same time as the mains. Would never eat here again. NOT HAPPY AT ALL WITH THESE MEALS

Had an amazing week at Straddie, we decided to treat ourselves to a nice dinner so we can finish on a high note. The Bowls Club certainly delivered. Great friendly staff every time and the food was absolutely amazing. Very reasonably priced for such beautiful quality and quantity. Staff will make sure to look after you. Highly recommend!

Paid top dollar for a meal for myself and my wife. Had to return my plate to the kitchen and ask for more salad, very small portions of tomatoes and zucchini with lot's of lettuce looked not up to scratch, also my wife's fish was only half cooked, very disappointed.

New Chefs - New Menu - Fantastic! We ordered a starter and two mains for under $50 (not including drinks of course) and the quality and overall experience was phenomenal. We ate high restaurant quality food whilst enjoying a comfortable club feel. The menu is priced in your favor and the quality is next level. The meals tasted even better then they look! They also source local seafood. I cannot recommend the bowls club enough. If you have visited before in the past, I definitely recommend trying their new menu. If it's your first time visiting, you will not be disappointed! Big thank you to the team, we were very pleased with the food and service.

Had a great time playing barefoot bowls on the weekend with a few drinks. Didn't end up staying for dinner but food that others ordered looked lovely. Would definitely return.
