Fantastic stay at the North Star. Room was lovely and accessible. Dinner at the Bothy was delicious, service was top notch friendly and the music was excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and were opening top buttons under our shirts. Breakfast the next morning was spot on prepared. Mrs. MacDonald was a very gracious hostess. Justin and Colin are naturally welcoming and the seem to set a tone of welcome vibes that extend throughout the whole place.

The restaurant is amazing. Bright, calming decor, and the food is outstanding. The seafood chowder was the best I've ever had. There are lots of quality items available from local artisans in the gift shop area. I didn't have time to stay over, but will just have to come back with my husband. Colin and Justin, you continue to outdo yourselves. Well done!

We had dinner at The Bothy and it was a wonderful time. The food was very good and the owners are very hands on and you can tell that they are very concerned about the satisfaction of their guests. Food was fresh and hot, the ingredients are locally sourced and the atmosphere is very casual, dress in denim or dress clothes and you will not feel out of place. We will definitely be back before they close for the season!!

We stayed at this resort 2 nights (July 28 & 29) and all we can say is WOW! We were greeted by Julie who made us feel at home instantly. We met the new owners Colin & Justin at breakfast the first morning. Their warm personalities made us feel like we were part of the family and the breakfast was delicious and plentiful. We never met Rolanda the housekeeper, however we knew she was there as we returned to an impeccably clean room at the end of the day. The views at this resort were amazing (we stayed in room 2) and had a view of the ocean that did not disappoint. The new owners will be renovating the resort during the off season and the results will only make for a more enjoyable experience. This resort needs more that a 5 star rating but since this is all that is available I give Point of View Suites at 5+. Can't wait to go back

Now named the "North Star" is owned by celebrity designers "Colin and Justin" A very quaint hotel located in Louisbourg, NS. You are greeted by the amazing Mrs MacDonald who is the gem of this resort. Anything you need is always available. Our room was roomy with a kitchenette and a killer view. The beds were amazing. The Bothy restaurant opens at 6 p.m. with daily dining offered in the main building. You will see Justin and Colin everyday as they are very hands on and working to ensure your best stay. Lovely people! You need to rent a car as Sydney is 37 km away and attractions are also a distance. I am happy to be travelling again and glad I picked this location.I will be visiting again!

This is the nicest and cleanest place ever. I've stayed in alot of nice places but, this one wins hands down. The staff are top notch. They make you feel as if you are apart of the family. The owners, Colin and Justin are so down to earth and great waiters. No deep fried food here. Can't wait to return next year and see all the new renovations. Our stay was A one. Thank You to all.

We went for the Beggars Banquet, the food, show and atmosphere we're all fantastic. I had the lobster for dinner, but was able to taste the chicken as well. It was all delicious. We brought our kids, who at 6, 11, and 16 we're all entertained and it was all appropriate for all ages. My daughter and I were even able to get up on stage and sing and play guitar in front of everyone. 10/10 would do again.

Yelp
All of the reviews suggest a nice, modern stay, with a hint of charm from the staff dressed in period garb. The innkeeper tried to pass off that charm to her guests by instructing visitors only to unload their "carriages" and then relocate them to the side of the building. Unfortunately, the Kay visitors were late, loud, and inconsiderate and beamed their lanterns into our lower unit late at night and left their Cadillac of carriages parked, blocking our ocean view. To make matters worse, they were heavy-footed beasts and clomping around above us at midnight, but then when you're so "entitled", you probably don't GaF. The room was quaint but the beds inside are not the same. One is a platform bed with a better quality mattress. It was in the kitchen area. No matter how odd that may seem, choose that bed. It's better than the lower to ground, weak mattress one we slept on! Not all of the outlets worked and instructions for the shower are necessary and can be found only if you look up!! Now the really odd thing about Room 6 was the ONE WAY mirror in the room with blinds. Perhaps this allows the voyeur-side of you to feel like someone is watching you -- Norman Bates-ish if you ask em. For us it was a WTF moment. So that's my point of view. I'd probably rethink the higher price of stay for oddities (and no ghosts).

Yelp
Cute place, nice room. Felt very quaint. Right near the water, and, of course you can see the Forteresse de Louisbourg off in the distance. When we checked in we were greeted with warmth and helped quickly, lots of hospitality points for this place! We snuck over to the back around 6 pm to check out what they call the 'Beggar's Banquet' -- a sort of feast they host in the evenings where everyone dresses in colonial gear. We're talking full costumes, which I think they provide, but don't quote me on that. The event really goes with the atmosphere of the town, especially if you spent the whole day walking around the fortress, which is basically a giant reconstructed town from the 1700s and a colonial roleplayer's paradise. All-in-all a nice stay, much nicer than our first night in Baddeck!

Yelp
Great place to spend a few days. We did the Beggars Banquet which was just a lot of good fun. What made it really enjoyable was the staff. Always seemed genuine, and living life. I wud highly recommend stating here.
