Let me do a pros and cons of my stay...
PROS: Great location in the heart of the city amongst all of the restaurants, shops, and bars. Easy parking right in front of the hotel (don't use the tiny underground spots). If booking a room with a Mountain View - it's gorgeous. You see the mountain tops and all of the long, bustling street. Beautiful. A nice rooftop view and large hot sauna (not jacuzzi) on the top floor. Quick access to the train and bus stops and only a ~7 minute walk to Aguilla du Midi & Montevers (sic).
CONS: Somewhat blah front desk/staff. Not that welcoming. Slow WiFi. Parking is not explained - if you've never used a system where concrete pillars drop down after you put in an access code you'd be confused out of your mind with where to go and how to navigate, as I was. They don't explain about all of the roads around town being pedestrian only so it was frustrating driving around and constantly having to reverse and detour unexpectedly. The rooms are hot temperature and even with the door to the outside cracked a few inches in February (15 degrees Fahrenheit), I was restless at night trying to sleep (must've been 75-76 Fahrenheit in the room). The last part is about the "double bed OR two single beds" nonsense. I booked thinking I'd have a Queen or at least a double bed. It ended up being two single beds cinched together. So you have a division / crack going down the center length of the bed, with two comforted overlapping. It's two separate beds, don't like the photos fool you like it did me. So as a nearly 6'0 / 220 lb male I had to sleep in a single bed designed for a child, basically, or risk sleeping across a crack and further wrecking my back for snowboarding all day. The bed was not comfortable at all, the thick microfiber comforters were not breathable in the slightest bit, my legs were sweating and I had to keep kicking the covers off since it was hot in the room. The pillows were terrible. Very cheap feeling. I can't say if they are firm or soft, just awful. Definitely not down or feather. Some cheap microfiber crap that you'd pay $10 USD for at Walmart. Also, they do not have any preparedness kit for guests - meaning I had no idea I'd need a specific travel adapter to accept a US plug to charge my phone. I had boughten one for Switzerland and apparently it's different in France. The hotel rummaged through a shoebox of an eclectic collection of various chargers and ports but did not have one that would fit a US plug. I had to traverse the city to find an adapter in the city and somehow landed on one within minutes of closing otherwise I would not have had a working phone during my stay. This is something that should be a given in any international destination hotel.
OVERALL CONSENSUS: The view/location is fantastic. I truly felt like I was staying in the heart of the city/valley. If you're not a particular sleeper as I am requiring a set/consistent/controllable temperature and are impartial to your bedding type then I'd say this is an excellent spot. If you're ultra picky with sleep and like it cooler in your room you'd prob not get too well of a sleep.
For only one night it was tolerable but I wouldn't last a few days here as I didn't really get that great of a sleep tossing and turning and it negatively affected my energy and stamina the next day on the mountain. I'm not sure what the deal is in Europe and why they are so overly concerned with being "green" and don't seem to think people want to sleep in the cool. Save the planet stuff and forget your comfort.
