We booked a room in the Bed and Breakfast part of the property. The room was nicely appointed, the grounds were nice and the location is convenient to Brennecke and Poipu Beaches, but that’s the only good things I have to say. ||First of all, there was no breakfast! When we called to ask when and where it would be (no one was EVER in the office! We were there for 4 days, and never saw a soul), we were told they didn’t serve breakfast. But wait…the signs in the parking lot say “Bed and Breakfast” and the brochures on the property tout a “delicious breakfast served daily”, and several online reviews said breakfast was served. That’s why we booked this room rather than one of the kitchen units on site! There was a “coffee bar” in the common area, with a dirty frig, electric kettle, water dispenser and a few kitchen supplies. The coffee supplied was instant in little foil packets, that were never replenished, and one big box of tea bags - no variety. Really? Not even a Keurig? And no microwave?||Our room had a tv that didn’t work, water that would sometimes get hot in the shower and a few windows that were stuck closed….. Beach towels and chairs were available to use, so that’s a plus.||We received many automated texts from the office, offering tips on making reservations and where to see the turtles - nice, I guess, but we also received one telling us to feel free to use any of the fresh vegetables in the garden - eggplant, etc. We thought that was a nice touch, but I kid you not, the garden was full of weeds and a few herbs that had gone to seed.||Maybe book the units with kitchens, or somewhere else…

Wonderful accommodations and LOCATION. Just minutes to Poipu beach. Counted up to 21 Green Back Turtles at one time resting on beach. We have stayed in condos and B&B sections of The Poipu Plantation and enjoy the authentic Hawaiian decor, clean and super comfy beds and bedding. Constant breeze and unbeatable sunsets are yours to enjoy. We prefer the smaller quiet property over the larger Hotels. We will be back god willing. Enjoyed with much Aloha. Mahalo Pete and staff.

Stayed in the bed and breakfasts rooms for rent. The website review, the printed brochures and the signs in the parking area, all say “bed and breakfast”. The online reviews rave about the great breakfasts, but be aware, there is no breakfast served here. The rooms are nice and the area is also nice. Just need to remove the reviews referring to the breakfasts and update the website, it was very misleading. TV didn’t work, toilet wobbly and shower valve not adjustable either.

Absolutely 5 stars across the board! We loved our stay - the staff was so friendly and communicative, the location was perfect - loved being able to walk to the beach and restaurants including Puka Dog! We walked down during the evening to see the sea turtles resting on the beach - truly magical. Our room was also perfect - so spacious and beautiful, especially for the price! Will absolutely stay again.

We needed to cancel the reservation and understood it was nonrefundable, but could contact the property as to why we cancelled. It was booked through Bookings.com. ||My mom recently passed away. My dad (age 92) was hospitalized and we were not sure of the outcome. When I contacted the property they said "Yeah, they're trying to give us a sob story and Husband sick wife sick whatever mom and dad sick blah blah blah." That information was not correct. Calling it a sob story was very hurtful. They could have politely just said they would not refund the money.

We have stayed at the bed and breakfast several times over the past 10 years and this time we stayed in one of the condo units. It was so comfortable with a beautiful lanai view. It was so peaceful and quiet and safe. The owner and staff were helpful but not intrusive. Very nice bedding and chairs and umbrella available for our use. The grounds are beautiful with the scent of plumeria in the air.

Nice quiet place close to beach (10 min walk to Poipu beach). Most of the property is a bit like condos. While not the most renovated building most of the properties around Hawaii are like this and I found my accommodations great and in like with what else I saw and stayed at in Hawaii. || LNo there isn't a daily towel or sheet service (not needed in my opinion) so this is more like an Airbnb. My place had a kitchen, king size bed, living room and sizeable bathroom + a nice pick lanai/porch. Plus air conditioning in kitchen/living room and a separate one in the bedroom + 3 fans and lots of windows. Also came with two beach backpack chairs, an umbrella, and they let me borrow a small cooler. I would stay here again if I wasn't looking for/didn't want to pay for a beach side property (and frankly my favorite beaches didn't have any resorts on them anyways!).

We were fortunate enough to spend 3 weeks at this beautiful bed and breakfast! We had to leave Maui quickly due to the fires and the owner Pete was most accommodating to us! His local information was very helpful to us. The breakfast was excellent in a lovely setting! The old plantation home is lovely and well appointed! We enjoyed the quick stroll down to the beach and the lovely mature landscaping on property. Pete provided nice beach chairs and towels for our day’s excursions. This place is truly a hidden gem and we hope to return to Poipu Plantation for many years to come!

Yelp
The host, "Pete", double booked our room, shut the door in our face when we arrived and refused to give a refund. We arrived the day after the start of our rental agreement. He claims we "No Showed", but we clearly showed up and stood face to face with him as he fumbled through an explanation as to why it was our fault that he rented our room to someone else. VRBO failed to honor their rental guarantee which states we 'have the right to enter the rental for the ENTIRE duration of our rental term'. Throughout the process of trying to get a refund, Pete repeatedly sent multiple inappropriate text messages to my wife telling her to "F$#% You"... "Sh@# Head". He only stopped after we filed a harassment report with Kauai Police. We are considering pressing charges. Pete is very two faced and what he says to in front of you is not how he feels or what he thinks about you when he is behind a computer screen. Don't let him SCAM or BULLY YOU. GO ELSEWHERE

Yelp
We spent 9 days at the bed and breakfast of the Poipu plantation. We were impressed with the proprietor, Pete making us feel like family Besides cooking us a unique delicious breakfast everyday he is familiar with Island and was willing to share what was going on a daily basis to make our stay more memorable. The facility was was clean, comfortable and close walking distance to Poipu beach. He supplied beach towels, chairs and umbrellas for our comfort. We are planning to book again in the future! Thank you Pete for your hospitality.

Yelp
It has been a while since I have stayed at a B&B, and was so grateful to be reminded of the charm and doing so. Especially one that is run by an owner who clearly cares about the comfort of his guests. Poipu plantation is quite the gym, nestled steps away from Poipu Beach. Pete is an excellent cook, not to mention tour guide. He had endless suggestions and knows the area like the back of his hand. His warmth and generosity are the icing on the cake. I highly recommend these accommodations to anyone traveling to Poipu. You will be very happy!

Yelp
Poipu Plantation Vacation Rentals Pete charged my mother three times for her stay, for a total of $6,800. He hasn't been able to explain what happened, though he did issue a partial refund for 1,800, and we were able to get a charge back for another $2,690. I will be reporting this to the FBI field office and local police. I wanted to give Pete a chance to correct his error before I did so; instead, he became apoplectic, further incriminating himself via text message, which I have on file for my records. I'm certain this business will be shut down in due time.

Yelp
Our favorite place in the world. Kauai, that is! We visited a few years ago for our honeymoon and it easily became somewhere we'd want to move, if we could! If you every visit, please stay at the Poipu Plantation Resort! A family-owned place right on Poipu Beach? Yes x 1000! It's also on the sunny south shore of Kauai which makes it a great place if want to hangout at the beach and watch the sunsets. You get a homey off-the-beaten-path feel when you are here. The Resort has bed & breakfast and vacation rental suites. The vacation rental condos have a full kitchen and this is the one we chose! The bed & breakfast had a full breakfast included but we wanted the kitchen. We stayed in the the One Bedroom- Garden View. We walked in to a little welcome note that said congratulations with chocolates, how sweet!! Our room had high wood ceilings, a spacious layout, decent sized kitchen with all appliances, queen bed, and even a little deck outside with chairs. We met the owner upon arrival and she made us feel like family! She got us all set up quickly and gave us some pamphlets and tips about the actives we wanted to do. She even gave us some star fruit she insisted we had to try :) The owner also mentioned the best place to watch the sunset on Poipu beach (literally steps away) and let us borrow her towels, a few beach chairs, and even a cooler! What!? Not expected and we used these almost daily and it made our beach trips so comfortable! This resort is in an incredible location, I can't stress that enough! It's a two minute walk to Poipu beach and everyone in the area came out at sunset each night to watch. What's TV?!? In addition to these jaw-dropping sunsets, there's snorkeling available and beach dining very close. We saw a lot of cool fish snorkeling but note that the waves are rough! Be very careful if you decide you want to. We can't wait to come back and visit again someday soon! All of the staff here are so welcoming and hospitable. We'd give this place ten stars if we could. Thank you for some of our favorites memories and times we'll never forget!

Yelp
I would not recommend Poipu Plantation Resort to anyone. I stayed there in September of 2021 and had made my booking in May of 2021 via Booking.com. Today, April 18th, 7 months after my stay and almost 1 year later, they contact me (Via a lousy text message) to tell me I had an outstanding balance of a large sum and threaten legal action against me for not paying. RENTERS BEWARE - The ineptitude of this company and rental property may come and try to charge you out of the blue due to their own incompetence. In addition to that, the utensils in my rental were rusty, dull and dirty. The owner stated that I could've complained during my time there and gotten new ones. Again, if this business truly cared about hospitality, they'd have been on top of the dirty, rusty accessories to their kitchen. Mahalo. P.S. I paid the fees they asked for (the day they asked via text).

Yelp
We decided to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary (02-02-02 -- 2-2-22) on Kaua'i. Using a variety of online searches for a condo on the South coast, we settled on Poipu Plantation Resort thanks to reviews like this. I don't think we could have made a better choice. We were here 2-1-2022 to 2-08-2022. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by Maddy and Pete (the owner), and informed that we would be staying in "Norfolk" -- a beautiful, 1-br ocean-view unit (instead of "Mango" -- a partial view unit -- which I had booked, and which was directly below). The 23-steps up to the unit were well worth the effort. The view from the balcony is perfect for watching the sunset each day. The unit itself was a delight. Nicely decorated, plenty of windows to allow fresh air to circulate throughout the unit, and very well supplied with tableware, silverware, and glasses (in wine, highball, and old fashioned varieties), cooking utensils, drip coffee maker (plenty of filters) and coffee cups, and, most important of all, SHARP knives by Sabatier (as a mostly-retired caterer, these were a true pleasure!). We stocked up on some fresh NY strip steaks, wild caught marlin and ahi steaks, eggs, salad mix, some veggies, OJ, and soft drinks at Costco after arriving at Lihue and before making the 20-minute drive to Poipu. The full-size refrigerator accommodated it all (Safeway and Big Save markets are much higher priced, but necessary for some small quantities of items you might need). The bedroom dresser and closet (full of wood hangers) held all our folded and hanging clothes with ease. The queen bed was a joy to sleep on each night. The bathroom includes a large shower with handheld adjustable sprayer and body wash, shampoo, and conditioner. The only thing missing was a hair dryer. Large flat-screen LED TV was ROKU connected, but sort of missed being able to watch the news. I grilled our steaks and fish on the Weber BBQ in the gazebo downstairs. As a "base of operations" for visiting all the island has to offer, South shore is ideal, as is Poipu Plantation. The resort is walking distance to Poipu Beach, but we chose to drive. The unit comes complete with deck chairs and beach towels, so no need to bring your own. Early mornings are the best time to go . . . before the crowds arrive around 11am. We found six turtles on the West end of the beach one morning. From the resort, you can get to your choice of Waimea Canyon State Park on the west coast or to Hanalei and Princeville on the North coast in about an hour -- and you definitely need to visit both. There is a farmer's market in Poipu on Wednesday afternoons, and a large farmer's market in Lihue on Saturday mornings. The grounds here are well-manicured. The songbirds love the place -- plenty of plumeria trees (unfortunately mostly dormant this time of year), and although you can find them just about anywhere you go, there aren't any chickens on the property. Owner Pete is a real gentleman! After checking out and driving to Lihue for our 1:30pm return flight to LAX, my wife discovered that she had left some cash in the complimentary safe in the unit. We called the resort and Pete found her cash and it was in my PayPal account before we landed. It doesn't get better than that! With so many other places in the world we haven't seen, we might not get back to Kaua'i, but if we ever do, we will surely come back to Poipu Plantation Resort.

Yelp
Beware - New owners will scam you I want to protect other travelers from being defrauded as we have been. Our family stayed at the Poipu Plantation in 2015 when they were under different ownership and had a lovely stay. We planned to return to celebrate my grandmother's 80th birthday in 2020, and we put down a $2,000 deposit to secure two suites. Then, when the new owners took over, they refused to refund our stay when we couldn't make our previous reservation when Hawaii was under lockdown due to COVID-19. Since then, we have tried to use up the deposit on file since we all got vaccinated. It has been months and the new owners do not answer the phone, reply to our voicemails, or answer our emails. All we wanted to do was try to use the credit we have on file that will expire at the end of 2021, and they are greedily hoarding the deposit while refusing to let us book travel now that lockdown has ended. Save your money, save your time, and find owners who will actually honor your deposits and allow you to book a place to stay for your trip. Don't get defrauded $2,000 by these unscrupulous new owners like we did.

Susan R.

Yelp
Poipu Plantation now has a new owner and the place has gone very far downhill. There were cockroaches in the kitchen when we checked in and the outdoor garbage and recycles were overflowing. There were many necessary bathroom and kitchen items missing. I have stayed here about 20 times, but with the new owner I will never come back!

Yelp
I had the pleasure of staying at the Poipu Plantation Resort for a week for my honeymoon (in the Ali'i suite) and I couldn't have asked for a better time. First off, the location here is perfect. It's just five minutes from Brennecke's Beach, and is also around the corner from Kalapaki Joes (gotta love the $5 mai tais). The rooms themselves are real spacious as well, with TV, A/C, two sinks, and lots of room to move around. They also have a laundry room for use, and an office full of towels and supplies for the beach. The staff here is great too. Not only do they make a mean breakfast (the banana pancakes were my favorite), they also also quick to offer suggestions and tips on things to do/avoid around Kauai. I really look forward to coming back here during my next trip to Kauai.

Yelp
We were unable to get into our condo nearby due to a glitch with Airbnb. We called Pete at Poipu Plantation and he gave us a very charming spacious room with kitchenette for the night. Pete was very kind and generous, accommodations were lovely, clean, view of the ocean from our lanai, and we really liked the vintage Hawaiian building and furnishings. Easy walk to Poipu Beach. Highly recommend, would definitely stay here again!

Yelp
I have stayed at Poipu Plantation Resort many times over the years and have always enjoyed it! The location is wonderful for anyone who wants to be in the Poipu Beach area, with the Ocean and beaches a brief walk away. The new owner has kept the ambiance of a relaxed atmosphere and is more than willing to assist with anything you might need! The accommodations are clean and tidy and the friendly Aloha spirt make for a very pleasant stay. I am now a full time resident of Kauai and I know where I will direct anyone who asks me for a referral on a wonderful place to stay in Poipu

Yelp
We loved the Poipu Plantation Bed & Breakfast. Right off the bat- if you are reading this - stop- go book it NOW! Okay, back to the review...We arrived after 2pm for check in & found our information easy & to our room. The decor is beautifully done & kept. The huge wood furniture pieces are amazing. Our room (Maile) was perfect. We had fresh lillies everywhere. In January, we used the ceiling fan, but there is an AC. The room was nicely sized, a huge wardrobe & vanity area, then a large bathroom. All nicely clean. Internet was free. There is a community table for breakfast @8am. Breakfast was yummy with fresh fruits, eggs, and scones. They varied the menu so it wasn't boring. We loved going to breakfast & chatting with the other folks! Javid is the host & he is the most!! There were always great suggestions of what to do & where to go. He also called to help us book a luau. The grounds are very well maintained & the office has chairs, towels, books to borrow. I will book this room or the Alii room next time. The beach & eateries are all within 5 min or a short drive. We saw sea turtles & a seal even! We snorkeled & it was so easy from this location! I will not go anywhere else! Overall- big big big hearts for these folks :) love!

Yelp
I'm sympathetic to the stress the coronavirus places on small businesses, but retaining almost $400 of my $718 deposit when I cancelled in anticipation of covid19 travel restrictions seems a touch excessive. Needless to say, I won't consider them again.

Ron S.

Yelp
With the new owner, Pete, the office is seldom open and if you can find him, he doesn't know what is going on locally. There is no hospitality at Poipu Plantation. In general, he is not responsive. OUT OF THE BLUE he sent us a text about half way through our 2 week stay DEMANDING THAT WE LEAVE WITHIN 24 HOURS, "HE THREW US OUT!" REALLY! He did refund the money for the rest of our time. We are a quiet older couple who did not bother other residents, or cause any damage. This is unacceptable behavior and probably illegal. I strongly recommend you look elsewhere for a nice stay in Kauai. We have stayed at Poipu Plantation many times over many years. It was delightful with Chris and Javed as the owners and hosting. There is a new owner, Pete and it has deteriorated. With Chris and Javed, the office was open from 9 to noon everyday to answer questions and give advice on places to go, things to do, and restaurants you might like.

Yelp
Greet trip insurance (they do not offer it). if you need to cancel for even an emergency, they will not refund you. I had to be hospitalized and having surgery in a couple days with a 2 to 4 week recovery. Won't stay there just because of that.

Yelp
On our recent trip to Kauai, we decided to stay at a Bed and Breakfast.. Poipu Plantation is a charming place that is within walking distance to Poipu beach. We stayed in the Pikake room which had its own bathroom; some of the other rooms have lanais (patio). It has grassy areas outside with views of the beach. We liked that this was not a huge hotel. What really impressed us is the Poipu plantation resort staff. They welcomed us like we were not just guests, but family members staying over their home. They gave us a very detailed itinerary, including things that are recommended to see that are off-the-beaten-path, road closures, etc. They also have items you can borrow (ex: beach chairs, mats, umbrellas, coolers, sunscreen) in the front office. They also provided breakfast (papayas, mac nut pancakes, juice and coffee etc). We stayed over on New Years Eve - although we chose to watch the Poipu fireworks display at the Poipu beachfront, you could have watched it from the front lawn of the BnB. This is a great place to stay if you want that personalized stay on the Islands.

Barbara L.

Yelp
My wife and I stayed at Poipu Plantation for two weeks in January 2018. We were already incredibly impressed with the room (we stayed in the Maile Suite), the location (within walking distance of beautiful Poipu Beach...no joke, a 5 min. walk), the breakfasts, and the grounds. Then we realized the true nature of the family-style/ohana care-taking at Poipu Plantation when, half way through our stay, the false missile strike warning woke us up out of a sound sleep. Javed and his colleagues were calm and reassuring when all of us were terrified. They were real and honest and loving during one of the scariest times of ALL of our lives. We will be returning here for many years to come. These people are now our family. We can't recommend this place more highly. -Barbara and Jules

Yelp
NO Aloha spirit now. I have stayed here about 7 times in the past 15+ years, and when Chris and Javed owned it it was delightful. My family placed a deposit of $2000. the first of 2020 to reserve rooms for all of us in order to celebrate my 80th birthday in July of 2020. Well, Covid happened which was bad enough, but then Chris and Javed sold the place to a man named Pete...and then things got much worse. The Covid pandemic and the closures of HI prevented us from going to Kaua'i....and it went on and on. Upshot of all this is that Pete has refused to refund our deposit and has even refused to allow us to use that deposit for a trip to Kaua'i my granddaughter and I are planning for November of this year, in spite of the fact that we were told the deposit would be good till December of this year! And no reply to phone calls or emails. How is this the spirit of Aloha?

Yelp
Sitting on the expansive lanai, I feel the breeze waft through my hair, ruffling my sarong pleasantly as I gaze out across lush vegetation, cute rooftops and out to the dark blue ocean. I take another sip of kauai coffee and tune in to the ever-present crazy songs of local birds flirting with each other. In the evenings we watch the sunset from our lanai, exchanging coffee for fruity cocktails we make in our kitchen. We talk and listen, both to each other and to the sounds of Kauai. This. Is. Vacation. Poipu Plantation Resort offers a variety of housing options, from B&B rooms to condo rentals with differing prices depending on the view (garden, scenic, ocean) and upon how long you stay here. We booked the least expensive of the condos ($135/night garden view, 5 night stay), but were pleasantly surprised to find upon our arrival, that we'd been upgraded to the fabulous ocean view condo. Damn, this is mighty fine! There are beautiful, exotic flowers and lush, leafy trees all around the well-kept grounds. There is a coin-operated laundry facility ($1 for washing & $1 for drying - cheaper than San Francisco!), which we have used. We are about a 5 minute slow amble from the famed Poipu beaches. As an added bonus, the guys who are at the front desk are exceedingly pleasant and helpful regarding any touristy info you can dream up to ask about. Not only that, but one of the guys helped us out of a major bind on our arrival day when we were having difficulties lining up a rental car. After trying for several days to rent online, we finally learned that every single rental car agency was flat sold out of cars for the day we were arriving to the airport. This Poipu Plantation guy managed to sweet-talk someone at Hertz into getting us a car. Seriously, folks, this is above and beyond the call of duty when the hotel staff picks up the slack from our procrastination! I'm just going to stop myself here, before this review gets out of control. Just know that this is a lovely place to stay. I would absolutely stay here again in a heartbeat. Thanks Toni M. for your review, which directed me to this marvelous place to stay!

Yelp
Poipu Plantation feels like you're staying at a friend's house in Kauai. A friend that has an amazing guest bedroom, makes you breakfast, and knows everything you'd possibly want to know about the island. Seriously. My wife and I had an amazing honeymoon on Kauai, and having Poipu Plantation to stay at made it great. If you want a cozy, friendly, and authentic Hawaiian place to stay while you're on the island, you can't beat it.

Yelp
We stayed at Poipu Plantation back in October and I realized I never wrote a review. My husband and I hadn't been on a vacation for over two years and we finally booked a trip to Kauai. We found Poipu Plantation on trip advisor and it as exactly what we were looking for. We got a condo, ocean view, and it was really cute and clean. It is in a great location, you can walk to the beach and brenneke's and is a short drive from where that shopping center Keoki's is at. The kitchen has all the utensils and cooking things you need, the bed and pillows were cute and are comfy. It really made you feel like you had your own little apartment in paradise The view from the room was awesome. The one drawback is the towels. They were musty the first time you used them and you had to wash them yourself at the coin laundry or pay 10 bucks for them to get their housekeeping to come and wash them for you. They do give you more then one towel each but you really don't want to use these towels twice. So your going to need to wash them and this is your responsibility. I understand that there is humidity that could be a factor, and it could be a way to keep your costs down and keep rates affordable but when your on vacation musty towels are not cool! This is my only negative. The people that worked there were really nice and very helpful, while we overheard an older couple saying their goodbyes and it seemed that they come back to poipu plantation whenever they visit kauai so I thought that was really cool. Would I come back to Poipu Plantation? Yes I definitely would!

Yelp
Fabulous grounds. The staff is outstanding. We feel like we are at home. A casual feel of living. Had air conditioning! Provides free of charge coolers, chairs, sand toys, towels - everything u need for fun at the beach. They has an extensive library of tour guide books for Hawaii and a borrow library of beach reads You don't check them out - just put them back when you are done. Onsite laundry. Beautiful gardens. They have kitchens in the units There is a bed and breakfast here. I haven't seen that though. We are here for 26 nights. Forgot - lots of walking snd hiking opportunities here too!

Yelp
My wife and I stayed in the Ali'i Suite in the Bed & Breakfast part for 5 nights while on our 2 week honeymoon to Hawaii. The room was very large and comfortable. It had a 4-poster bed which was comfortable as well as a sitting area with small couch and 2 chairs, a deck with a view of every sunset, and a large bathroom with jacuzzi tub and separate shower. Plus, when we arrived, there was a box of chocolates and a note congratulating us on our recent nuptials, which was a nice touch. The grounds are a short walk to Poipu beach, which is a very nice beach for laying about and doing a bit of snorkeling. The office had a small library of local guide books covering activities such as hiking, sight-seeing, beaches, and other day trips. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. They kept the room very clean and the grounds well maintained. The breakfasts were extremely pleasant. The coffee was good as was the food. One morning it was omelets, the next was pancakes, and so on so it was something new every day. We really enjoyed our stay here and would certainly stay again if (and when) we travel to Kauai again (it's LONG flight from NYC, however).

Yelp
Our honeymoon finally arrived and we landed after 7 hectic days in Oahu. After a wonderful, late-night meal at Hamura Saimin near the airport, we were extremely tired. Any fears of a run down hotel or filthy, noisy bed and breakfast were allayed following our entrance into the Poipu Plantation Inn. The grounds, even at night, under the moonlight were impeccably maintained by the staff and included mango trees, plus other local vegetation. The foyer is mainly a pleasant, open window breakfast room and sitting area. We stayed in the Alii suite, which amazed us on how roomy it was and reflected how we would have imagined a Hawaiian bed and breakfast appearing. The bed was large and comfortable. The staff left yellow flowers everywhere, on the towels, the bathtub, tables, even on the toilet paper. Water bottles were left in the fridge and enough clean towels per day. In the morning, Javed welcomed us and the other 4 guests to a shared breakfast. All of the guests sat at the same table, but it was fun meeting such interesting people. Javed was the most amazing host, made us feel at home, answered all of our questions, and informed us of the history of the island. The breakfast is something you should not skip. The food is healthy, exhibited with elegance, and delicious. We never missed the breakfast at 8 am. The property is located near a fun beach across from Brennekes restaurant in walking distance. There are turtles in the water that you can locate on your walk to the beach. The best sunsets were sitting on the black lava rocks being walloped by the ocean waves. I cannot wait to revisit this property again and would not consider any other place, but would recommend the Alii suite. Please keep it clean for everyone else, especially for me, since I will be back. Thanks.

Yelp
An amazing stay at Poipu Bed & Breakfast. Easy check in and check out! All the staff was welcoming, nice, energetic, and they even bring their dogs to office :) the breakfast was delicious, fresh, and different each day! The Maile Suit was extremely spacious and perfect for us on our honeymoon. They provide a ton of supplies of you want to go hiking, beach, or any outdoor activity. Definitely recommend staying here at the Bed & Breakfast!!!

Yelp
Yesterday we moved here from the Sheraton. They have both apartments and a B&B. We're staying in the B&B. Sally and Mike stayed in one of the apartments. Both are roomy, attractive and comfortable. Our suite is huge, w/ a pitched roof w/ a light and ceiling fan in the main room. There's room for a king size bed and assorted furniture, including a couch and large chair. It has a fireplace, although it's probably not functional. The B&B is housed in an old plantation house, I think. The apartments were built later. In addition to the main room there is a bathroom w/ a toilet, whirlpool and a shower. It closes off w/ a heavy pocket door. The sink is in another room which has a multitude of drawers for clothes storage and what looks as if it was originally a built-in china storage cabinet above them. There's also a refrigerator and a kitchen sink. The bed is comfortable and the light/fan in the kitchenette are on rheostats so we could turn the light way down at night, giving us a night light. There are flower arrangements on this table and in front of the fireplace. There are plumeria blossoms on the pillows which are replaced daily from the garden. Bottled water and other drinks are provided. No shampoos or lotions are provided but I have those in my travel kit. We have a view of the ocean from our lanai, filtered through palms and the roofs of the house across the street. This morning when we went out to the breakfast room we were greeted by the resident Irish Setter, a leggy, gorgeous girl who reminded us in stature of our dearly beloved Emily. Breakfast was excellent, w/ the best papaya we've had on Kauai this trip, accompanied by sliced bananas and a bit of lime. The main dish was French toast made w/ locally made guava bread. It has a pink color in much the same way taro bread is colored purple. Small pieces of pineapple, strawberry, a grape and melon accompanied it. We're looking forward to more good breakfasts over the next few days. We feel at home here, closer to the land than we did at the Sheraton. Nothing at all against the Sheraton. We're just more B&B or condo people than hotel people. At the Sheraton we neither saw nor heard geckos, although we did hear the deep, metallic call of a lonely frog. Here we've seen two geckos already and heard others.

Yelp
I stayed in a lot of places during my three Kauai adventure but this place was my favorite. It just felt like home. It was private and beautiful and reasonable. I honestly wish we had just stayed there the whole time. The staff is amazing and helpful and courteous. The bed is comfortable and just seeing the picture on yelp just now made my husband and I gush about our time there. Such a sweet place!

Yelp
Awesome vacation rental near the beach. My boyfriend and I stayed here for only 3 nights after hiking the Kalalau Trail. We very much enjoyed our stay. This review is a 4.5 star review, rounded up to 5. PROS: --The Location: Excellent. It's a short 5 minute walk to the edge of Poipu beach. There's great snorkeling there both with fish and sea turtles. Quiet at night. --The Rooms: Well-furnished and comfortable apartments. Comfy king-sized bed, speedy wifi. Very clean. Nice lanai. A/C if you want it, although the trade winds are quite pleasant. The kitchen is well-stocked in terms of cookware (pots, knives, blender, microwave, etc.). --The Property: Very nicely landscaped with lots of flowering plants and trees. Great BBQ area with comfy seating. Laundry room is nice to have, albeit a bit pricey. --Amenities: Beach towels, guidebooks, etc. in the main office. --The Staff/Owners: Very nice people who went out of their way to tell us about the beach, grocery store, snorkeling, hidden gems. Javed, especially, was incredibly patient and warm. And we wanted to steal their beautiful Irish Setters. CONS: I'll just say the cons are pretty minor and are more just helpful suggestions. --Lack of kitchen items: We were a bit stymied in our short visit preparing food by the complete lack of things like oils, spices, foil, condiments, etc. in the in the kitchen. Providing a few more basics would really help those visitors that aren't staying 2 weeks. --Lack of pool/hot tub: It would be so nice to have a hot tub here in the evening or perhaps negotiate free or discounted access to a nearby pool. OVERALL, this is definitely a great place to stay, and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to others or stay here ourselves. A NOTE: There are a lot of fake Tripadvisor reviews out there in this part of Hawaii...their competitor in Poipu seems to have faked almost all of their Tripadvisor reviews. Yelp's filtering algorithm makes it much more reliable in this case.

Yelp
My husband and I stayed at the Poipu Plantation Resort for 5 nights during our Honeymoon, and we wished we would've stayed the whole time here! Upon arrival, our bed was decorated with plumeria in the shape of a heart along with a box of chocolates & a note wishing us an enjoyable honeymoon! A short 3 minute walk is all it takes to get to Poipu beach, walk a little farther down and you'll run into a beachside bar where we had happy hour drinks almost nightly. I cannot describe enough how fantastic Poipu Plantation is. From the delicious breakfasts, adorable accommodations and incredibly kind and helpful staff, I truly don't think you could find a better place on Kauai! We are very active and love exploring and doing outdoor activities, so we already had in mind a good idea of what our schedule looked like each day. However, with Javed's help we were able to make sure we didn't miss anything and he gave us concise directions for where to stop and what to see along the way to our excursions. They even have a washer & dryer that you can use for a nominal fee- we absolutely LOVED being able to do a load of laundry! Breakfast is served at a communal table with the other B&B guests- we really enjoyed getting to know the other couple who was staying there, and now we have new friends to visit in Germany! :) We are already planning our trip back to Kauai, and this time will not make the mistake of staying anywhere else- we will be at Poipu Plantation resort for the entirety of our stay. Do yourself a favor and book your time on Kauai at this adorable, clean and welcoming little spot- you WONT regret it!

Yelp
My husband and I just spent 4 days at this adorable bed and breakfast during our honeymoon and we couldn't have been happier. All the staff was really friendly. Javed was awesome; he was incredibly helpful and gave us tons of tips regarding what to do on the island during our stay. The place was in a great location - right next to Poipu Beach, and the breakfasts were amazing. We plan on returning here next year.

Yelp
We loved staying here! Javed was so helpful and knowledgeable about everything on the island. The service was impeccable, right down to the fresh flower blossoms placed in the rooms each day when they were cleaned. The breakfasts were delicious with beautiful presentation. We are already planning our return trip to Kauai next year :)

Yelp
Friendly, accommodating, quite and affordable. If they remodeled the rooms I would totally give them 5 stars, but don't let that deter you from staying there b/c it's a wonderful place that's perfect for couples.

Yelp
Me and my boyfriend have spent in this amazing place 5 days. We fall in love with our room which gave us this unique feeling of the island. Beautiful old but well preserved furnitures. Very clean and well taken care of place. Every morning different tasty local breakfast. Everybody extremely friendly and helpful. We recommend this place to anyone who wants to feel real Kauai climate. Thank you for your wonderful service! Ada and Tom

Yelp
Can't say enough good things around the PPR! We were there for 8 days in early December and stayed in the two-bedroom ocean view apartment. First off, the view from the lanai is fantastic! You can sit and look left towards the ocean and right towards the mountains. Each bedroom had its own bathroom. (I always scoffed at the people on the House Hunters shows that wanted two-sink bathroom. Well this apartment has two two-sink bathrooms, perfect for two couples. But even better for one couple!) Chris and Javed were amazing! I don't think I've met friendler, more charming, or more helpful hosts. In the mornings, I'd go into the office and tell them our itinerary for the day. Chris and Javed would make suggestions, like "that beach is very crowded and busy these days, try this beach instead". Or "Kekaha beach is very similar to Polihale without the 5-mile ride on an unpaved road". Through them, we found out about a hike we could take along the coast starting from the resort. We'd start at 6:30am and walk for 2-1/2 hours and be back before the temperature and humidity rose. One of the best memories of our vacation! They were always very careful to suggest safety around the water, especially with the 40 and 50 foot waves on the north and west shores. What we also liked was the free use of beach towels, chairs, books, and the sun tan lotions and bug sprays leftover from previous guests. The laundry room was a definite plus, since I packed a lot lighter knowing it was there. We were glad to have stayed there the whole eight days and most definitely would stay there again!
