Google
This review is based on the Tuna Hana with rice at the Palm Desert location. Kinda underwhelming when you look at the size of the bowl, amount of product vs the price paid. I wish it would have been 1/3 larger. The bowl had about 10-12 quarter inch sized cubes of poke tuna fish, a healthy dollop of avocado and imitation crab with slices of cucumber and edamame beans. Taste was good, and service was fast.

Google
Hello! Everything was okay! I did inhale my poke bowl.... so that's a good sign! Haha. Notheless... the rice wasn't fresh and I can't help but be a stickler for good rice... also, I wish I'd have more sauce options or furikake / Masago as a topping.. was it good? Yeah it was good... but if you've got a somewhat refined taste for sushi / poke.. this might not be the spot. Check it out yourself!

First time tried this place and it was all positive. The bowl was huge! Had to leave half for the next day 😃. Good mix of veggies and fish. Will come again.

Google
A 4.5 rating? No way. I had the tuna and I couldn't choke it down. It was disgusting. I ate a few forkfuls and it was over. It was bad. On top of that she mixed up everything with her hand. She was wearing gloves. I won’t go there again. Yuck.

Google
Exactly what I was hoping it would be and for a more than fair price! Went with the Tuna Hana and added a scoop of shrimp plus whatever sides they recommended and it was perfect. I'm a big dude and it was more than enough food for one sitting. And don't judge that I was using a fork as I was there for sport, not for leisure... 😉😆

Google
Food was excellent, staff was friendly. Price is only reason I couldn't give 5 star. Close to 50$ for two lunches is a bit pricy, but portions were generous and food was tasty.

My friends and I waited for Pokéhana's opening with so much anticipation. When they finally did, they definitely did not disappoint. Their food is fresh and the proportions will fill you up in no time. I love the variety and their sauces are just so good! Also, their drinks are a plus, but their desserts are literally the icing on the cake (rain drop cakes, mochi, and macaron ice cream <3). The owners and workers are super patient and really nice. The whole restaurant itself has a chill atmosphere and everything is really clean too!

Google
Awesome. Small nook location but the food is amazing, delicious and a great Poke. Staff is helpful and attentive and work to make your experience as good as possible

Yelp
We came for a break in the Palm Desert Mexican cuisine scene and decided to check out Pokehana. Typical line of items and topping choices seemed vast. The place wasn't super clean which you'd hope you'd get eating raw foods. The poke was just meh -- the crab salad seemed old and rubbery and flavors, toppings etc just didn't have the cravability that I usually get when I go to a good poke shop.

Yelp
quick service ordered 2 regular bowls and it came out good. the seaweed salad was a little salty but the other parts were all just a ok. would come back if i'm in the desert as there isn't much poke options here. :)

Yelp
I get poke bowls at least once a week at home. I am visiting Indian wells and a friend who lives here recommended pokehana. Unfortunately it was probably the worst of poke places I have been to. I got the large bowl with tuna, spicy tuna and spicy salmon. With no rice and kelp base. The server gave me the smallest scoops, I literally had 3 pieces of meat total. It was so little I added an extra scoop of spicy tuna after the fact. My friend who was next in line got quadruple the amount. Massive massive scoops. Then I asked for avocado and got the same tiny scoop for $2.50. I don't write reviews but I think the inconsistency needs to be said. I won't go back.

Yelp
First time trying poke out here in the valley. Lived in OC prior so, there are many poke places to chose from out there. So trying this place out was a good surprise. The bowl and the mixture of the sauces we put in was great. Don't really have to add extra sauce even though we did ask for more on the side. Granted for over $20; we also got avocado, $2. I feel the price is a tad bit much for one bowl, compared to my favorite places in oc I've been too where for that price you can get more scoops of protein plus the bowl and portions are slightly bigger. The place was clean and service was good. People came in and out to order , but no one sat and ate there except for us. I don't drink anymore but if I did, I would've liked the fact that they sold adult beverages, including sake. So if you want a drink with your meal . It's a good place to go for convenience I guess. Would go back again if I'm really in the mood if not I can wait for when I leave town. But for the valley I recommend. It was good and didn't disappoint.

Yelp
This place has been my go to since before I moved away from the valley. The portions are always very generous and the service is fast and efficient. My go to bowl is half white rice, half mixed greens, tomato, carrots, kelp noodles, cucumbers, double shrimp, ginger, corn, mango, double crab salad and crispy garlic. For sauces I get the Hana dressing and top it off with eel sauce and spicy mayo. So so good. As of recent they started to charge for double scoops of anything which I suppose is reasonable with everything going up in price.

Yelp
Service was pretty bad. Guy looked like he didn't want to be there. Didn't really feel welcoming....I felt very rushed when ordering and I was the first and only customer there right at opening. I was asking for toppings like veggies and the protein and before I could finish at each section he was moving onto the next section. And when I asked for the receipt he just threw it aggressively in my bag and didn't hand it to me or even say thank you or anything. I was very shocked. The name on the receipt said Giovanni. Hopefully he works on his attitude and provides nicer customer service. Portions for a large were super small for the price.

Yelp
Poke was average, nothing special. Plenty of topping options! If wanting a quick bite, I'd stop by again. But it's not a top pick for food.

Yelp
The fish is not fresh and my bowl was so salty that I don't know what I'm eating. even my husband said it was very tasteless. He hate it! I love poke bowl!! BUT NOT THIS PLACE !!
google avatar

Emma J.

Yelp
Bummed to see this place change owners. Always have looked forward coming here but quality, cleanliness, and vibes have gone down. Also the check in deal is no longer accepted though it appears on this page.

Yelp
Stopped in today for a Tofu Lau which is a bowl with rice, tofu, citrus sauce, wasabi and various veggies. It was pretty good, but the price of $18 was kind of steep in my opinion. The service was friendly and fast. Parking is super easy. I wasn't wowed by the setting or the food, but this is a solid place for poke if you have the craving.
google avatar

Yelp
It was pretty good! Small portion but overall tasty! Get the Hana House sauce. I've been back twice and if you are craving a poke bowl this hits the spot!

Yelp
Delicious bowl! I did a choose your own deal and it was a good choice. They have a lot of options and everything looked very fresh. I like when they have veggies and crunchy garlic and onions. They have many options, lots of sauces to choose from. The portion was generous and they happily gave me lots of sauce on the side. The kids working there were very sweet. It was about $20 for a small bowl with tax and tip. Standard pricing for a poke bowl these days. The fish was tasty and good quality. I had the tuna and salmon, looked the freshest. I was happy with all of it.

Yelp
We ordered take out on a Sunday night. We didn't want anything heavy so we thought by getting a poke bowl would suffice. Yikes, these bowls are huge. You have the option to order one of their speciality bowls or you can make your own poke bowl. We opted to order their speciality bowls since it's a better bang for your buck. I ordered the Salmon Tuna Maika'i and my husband ordered the Tuna. You can customize your bowl with the toppings provided. I enjoy both salmon and tuna so I was excited to get this mix along with brown rice, fried garlic pieces, mango, edamame, avocado - among other toppings. My husband got the tuna with brown rice, avocado, crab salad- among other toppings as well. I really enjoyed both bowls. I felt the ingredients were fresh with lots of texture. I guess my personal preference is to have my toppings separate. I don't care for my warm rice with lots of cold items all around and I especially do not like cold rice. If I was able to have my rice separately then I would have loved the dish more. I wish there were more fish pieces also. Nonetheless, we enjoyed our poke bowls. Although the price was a bit steep (almost $40 for 2 bowls), it was a nice change to have poke as an option in the desert.

Yelp
Wow! I didn't expect to find such delicious, high quality poke in the middle of the desert! I was in the area and saw the reviews, so I decided to try it out. My partner and I shared a large poke bowl, which comes with 3 heaping scoops of fish. For your base, you can pick white rice, brown rice, spring mix, or a combo of those. After choosing your protein, you chose your sauce and select toppings, and then they mix it all together. Then you can add more toppings. So we ordered from here two days in a row, and we were about to go for a third day before we left the area, but unfortunately they weren't open early enough for us. The proteins I tried were salmon, ahi tuna, and spicy tuna. Surprisingly, the spicy tuna was my favorite because it was flavorful and had good texture. As for the base, we had brown rice for our first bowl, and I'm glad they didn't scoop a crazy amount of rice. In fact, they put less than I expected and I really enjoyed it. We ordered all of the non-premium toppings. Off the top of my head, I remembered having corn, edamame, crab salad, seaweed salad, pickled ginger, crispy onions, mango, kelp noodles, furikake. I liked the crab salad because it seemed like they shredded them very thinly. I actually tried to replicate that thin crab salad at home but I couldn't get it as thin...the texture definitely makes a difference! I also really enjoyed the kelp noodles because it was kind of crunchy. I appreciated that the mango was fresh tasting, but I wouldn't get it again in my poke bowl. Overall, the bowl was overflowing with toppings and they didn't skimp! The food was literally up to the top of the lid. For the second bowl, we had white rice and they gave us a bit more than the first bowl, but I appreciated that they patted the rice down to make room for the other toppings. I wasn't as much of a fan of the white rice because it was kind of mushy. This time, we ordered similar toppings as listed above, but omitted the mango. We also requested the lotus chips since that was listed on their to-go menu, but we didn't see it on display. I really liked the lotus chips and it was a nice touch! Again, they really hooked it up with the food. Don't forget to check in on Yelp and get $1 off your purchase. Service was friendly and it was just extra awesome that they give generous portions! You must come here if you're in the area!

Yelp
Paid $22 for a few pieces of fish and loaded my bowls with rice which doesn't even make sense. Terrible service didn't know what she was doing

Yelp
Pokehana is my FAVORITEEEEE! Always fresh, flavorful, and wonderful customer service. I tried their house passion tea, it was delicious. If you like tea on the sweeter side, make sure you ask for sugar :-)

vielka ..

Yelp
After today, I will not be going back to this restaurant. The amount of food that was given was ridiculous, before they used to use a regular ice cream scoop to give you the proteins and now they have half the size of that for a very expensive price. The rice was hard, when you asked for even jalapeños it was a little pinch of everything and it's not worth the price. So I would suggest going somewhere else if you feel like eating pokey. DO NOT COME TO POKEHANA.

Yelp
Came by on a Saturday night with a few minutes left to spare before Pokehana closed. One of the female employees was super friendly and accommodating - I liked that she had a good attitude even though they were in process of closing up. I ordered a large bowl DIY to take back to the hotel to enjoy. Portion was super generous, you can already tell by how heavy it was. Since it was the end of the night, not all of the options were available but what we ended up getting was pretty good. Everything tasted pretty fresh including the tuna and salmon. Sauce was also good, so overall good combination of a poke bowl.

Chris J.

Yelp
This place is strangely not busy. I have visited a number of times mid-week at different times. Never more than 3 or 4 people. What's wrong? I mean, it should have a good crowd considering it is overall pretty good. The young lady was helpful since once I explained what i wanted (took about 10 seconds to order), and she was on it... In any case, i'd give this place a 4, but today I spent $23 on lunch with a soda and $5 tip on top of that. So, for $28, I got one very, very hard underripe blob of avocado in it. At almost $19 for the bowl, that avocado had better be ready to eat. Not rock-like. I hope Pokehana takes this as polite criticism. I like the concept, but not if i have to navigate munition-grade avocado parts.

Yelp
It's not Hawaii, but it's pretty good. OK, that's not a fair comparison. I always enjoy my poke bowl from here. I dig the greens with all of my other choices. The place is clean and the workers are friendly. If you like poke or have never tried it, I suggest that you do give it a try.

Yelp
My daughter and I were traveling back to California from Arizona and wanted something light for dinner. We both love poke and this place came up. Seriously some of the best poke I've ever had! The ingredients were so fresh and the sauce added the perfect finish. My daughter and I had the large and medium craft your own bowl. Several protein choices as well as veggies. Both of the servers were very friendly - we were greeted as soon as we walked in - and helpful as well. It was perhaps slightly more pricey than some other poke places I've eaten but the taste really makes up for it. I'm sorry this place is so far away from where I live. I guess I'll have to wait for my next trip to go back.

Yelp
Good food, no line, and very clean restaurant! Plenty of toppings to choose from and the fish tasted fresh.

Yelp
I've been wanting to come here for some time and boy was I glad I went here. Came here at 5:00pm and the place was empty but it got very busy after I ordered. Got the Tuna Hana and it was absolutely amazing. The flavors were awesome. Got a large and it was plenty. Didn't need the miso but the miso soup was also fantastic. Customer service was fantastic. Everything was hand crafted. I will be going back and definitely recommend checking this place out. Fantastic spot.
google avatar

Angel L.

Yelp
I have been coming to Pokehana for the last 2 years and it's sad to see how much the new ownership has really slowed things down for this business. The prices have skyrocketed, the protein scoops have gotten smaller, and the last couple times I've gone recently the fish has been low quality and it was damn near frozen. Customer service to be fair has always been great, sad to see a once great business slowly fall.
google avatar

Hailey M.

Yelp
Unfortunately the last time I went the salmon and tuna were brown and tasted like it was due to be tossed out. This has happened twice. Customer service was good though but the old fish was disappointing.
google avatar

Cesiah B.

Yelp
The food is fresh and very tasty. I was considering giving 4 stars because they didn't have the Shrimp or octopus that I normally get not sure if that's a supply chain or management issue however what they lacked in shrimp they made up in excellent customer service. They were very polite and apologetic for the inconvenience. The facility was clean and quiet. It was a to go order as well. I like having all my toppings mixed in so that it's easier to eat and I don't mind my foods touching. If you "check in" while you're here you get a $1 discount .
google avatar

Yelp
Great staff & great food! I'd highly recommend building your own bowl so you can pick exactly what you want to eat.

Mya L.

Yelp
I honestly never do reviews, and haven't been in here in years. So i decided to order pick up for lunch before heading back to work. When i got back to eat both my bowls had no protein inside the pieces I saw were probably about two and I'm not exaggerating. I had no ahi tuna, and no spicy tuna. I paid $45 for both bowls i honestly wasn't going to call and say anything but after eating i couldn't get over the fact i spent that much basically for a salad with no protein. When i called Sarah the Leah apologized and said she had a couple people training today and it was probably just a misunderstanding, but that she couldn't do anything with out a picture or me bringing it back. I was not about to drive 20 mins back and waste my lunch. I also ate because i was hungry, and then decided to call. But was a little frustrated at the fact that she even acknowledged it was because she had trainees on the clock but that she needed proof. I totally that but I wouldn't lie about not having protein in my bowl. Do not recommend, i also was waiting for my pick and there was a new customer saying he needed help because he had never been in there and the gentleman helping him was not explaining anything and doing the bare minimum. Thats not good customer service.

Yelp
I've been going to this restaurant for years because my boys like it. However, I'm very shocked with my recent experience there with my boys. Not only has the price increased ( I totally understand the rise of costs), but the quantity has decreased by half.. no kidding. Some of the toppings that were available are no longer available, and those free are no longer free (like crispy garlic and onion.. how much can that cost???) They even changed the scoop size to the smallest size!!!! I always believe that the restaurant could only do either increase the price and keep the same portion, not increasing the price and decreasing the portion at the same time. For $18 plus some change, the attached picture of the bowl is exactly what I received..
google avatar

Phillip D.

Yelp
Came in 10 mins before closing and was told sorry we close at 8:30. I said it's 8:20 and the young girl replied I know.. we're closed and walked away. Very rude service. Don't recommend eating here
google avatar

Vanessa C.

Yelp
Normally visit every week and very satisfied with Pokehana but this is my first time grabbing dinner late- 8pm. First couple bites were bland and tasted as if I didn't add any sauce. Wasn't long til I noticed a hair on the cucumber. If it wasn't late I'd take it back and request a refund. Pretty upset with this visit overall.

Yelp
If you like sushi Then you'll love this sushi in a bowl! I was thrown away Very fresh and very good!

Amy F.

Yelp
We ordered a large bowl. The server gave only small bites of brown rice we ordered. It filled less than 1/5 of the bowl. If all the poke places we've went to, this place gave the least. The portion of the protein and other selection was tasty.
google avatar

Jennifer O.

Yelp
Amazingly fresh (especially the tuna) and delicious food. It was my first time having a poke bowl and wow, I was so impressed. The two guys working there were so so nice and patient as my sister and I gawked at all the delicious choices. I cannot wait to return! Inside was very very clean and tidy. Good management!
google avatar

Jeremy W.

Yelp
One of the worst experiences at local poke spots ever. Nothing was out, they were preparing to close EARLY and said it was cleaning but only pulled stuff back in when I asked if they were closing and it was only items I was requesting. My son only orders ahi with white rice, no sauce, no sides and typically when they find that out they add extra rice maybe extra poke. My normal bowl was half the size. Basically this place has changed or it's the new staff. Super disappointed using all my points AGAIN on a bowl I could've spent 3$ making at home from Sprouts. WHATS GOING ON POKEHANA?!?!?!?

Princess R.

Yelp
Believe or not this has 3 scoops of protein. I got the Large Bowl (Three Scoop Protein) in which is very small and skimpy and that's that I added extra toppings!! Paid $25 for this which in my opinion was not worth what I got. Very very very disappointed Pokehana. and they can't say it was because it was busy because I was the only person ordering.

Yelp
Visiting from Riverside we were looking for something to eat that was refreshing and healthy. Glad we found Pokehana. Delicious fresh poke!
google avatar

Lindsay C.

Yelp
Great service and the poke was delicious, dining room looked well kept as well. Will definitely be returning in the future!

Cruz C.

Yelp
Food was delicious and fresh, the service was outstanding. Daniel helped us from start to finish, he suggested we try his favorite sauce, which was tasty. My experience at this location was perfect, it is very clean the staff is what keep me and my friends coming back. We felt very welcomed. Daniel deserves recognition for being a great help to this poke location.

Yelp
Ordered a poke bowl on 5/11/23 and the Tuna was spoiled. Had to throw my bowl away. In the past few months their quality has declined. Last time I order Pokehana.

Lexi R.

Yelp
Disappointed. Come by to grab dinner at 8pm and found the restaurant closed. Online and on the door says open daily till 8:30.
google avatar

Yelp
We really like Pokehana! Generous portions, lots of options, friendly staff, and delicious food - definitely come here if you're looking for a healthier but still super tasty meal in LQ :)

Yelp
I went to the one in downtown Palm Springs. I don't know why this place was not packed like Tommy Bahama's other than the fact that TB has live music. The server was 100% attentive and accommodated any specific requests. The food arrived. Very timely, nicely presented and generous. delicious. Very fairly priced for what I received. Happy to leave this review and will be back.

Kristen C.

Yelp
Staying in town, wanted poke. This place looked good and had fair reviews, so I gave it a shot. Well worth it. Isaiah was great and helped me create a great bowl. The mushrooms are really good and not something I've seen in other poke places. Fish was fresh and the sauces are yummy! I'll be back and I'm bringing friends. Easy parking. Clean. Great menu.
google avatar

Amy G.

Yelp
Pokehana has increased their pricing of the bowls and it reflects how costly it has gotten because the scoops of proteins have gotten less to what I used to get. The bowls are still good but even the marinated shiitake mushrooms gotten to be 1$. I probably may not return to Poke anytime soon, its probably an occassional bi-monthly purchase as two bowls ran me close to 28$ even with the yelp check-in offer. Hopefully they will work on their portions because I don't think paying more for bowls but getting less than what I used to get is a fair trade. May update my review in the future pending another visit to Pokehana.

Glenn B.

Yelp
Sushi was bland. Not a huge portion for what you can pay cheaper and better quality elsewhere.

Lawerence F.

Yelp
Love this place. Keeps you healthy and I'm shape. Beats greasy fast food that leads too obesity.

Denise S.

Yelp
Caution! This place is under New Mangement! Terrible mangement! Rude employees! Short cuts too. It has been a really long time since eating here. I ordered a bowel last week and it tasted a little off. Then I picked up a bowel and again something didn't sit right. I threw away my bowel. The spicy tuna tasted really old. I feel bad for the last owners. They sold it to a person who doesn't have good ethics and staff. It angers me to see that a lot of people have complained & nothing has changed. In the mean time you are poisoning your customers. My stomach has been hurting really bad! Pokehana you better change your food handling practices. It's not ok for your business continue taking short cuts. Not sure when management changed but it's not the same as it was for so many years.
