location is excellent The furniture was old and shabby, but I was ok with that. What I wasn't ok with there was a terrible smoke smell in the room. Either someone just smoke in the bathroom and left the room (and we checked in very late, after 9pm) or it happened a long time ago, but the ventilation is so bad it stayed the whole day.

The location was extremely convenient (just around the corner from Nevski Prospect) and walking distance from the metro and from several tourist sites. The hotel was very clean and excellent value for money. The English-speaking staff (for example, Sasha) went out of their way to help us. The internet connection was very good. The façade of the building is currently undergoing renovation so the building is surrounded by scaffolding. No real bother from the noise as the workers only started at 8:30 however it’s a bit inconvenient. Not all staff was fluent in English which made communication a bit difficult in certain occasions. The breakfast was rather simple but also extremely cheap so I cannot complain. On balance I would in any case recommend this hotel mainly for the location and the price.

The hotel was a bit difficult to find, but apart from that I have nothing bad to say about it. Literally nothing. ||The staff is extra friendly and helpful, made me feel welcome. The room was comfortable and clean, I loved the towels, and the complimentary bottle of water and slippers upon arrival.||There is always hot tea, coffee, sweets and fruits available for guests - exactly what I needed after a long walk around the winter city. Location is perfect, too, lots of attractions nearby.||Late check-out is possible, transfers to railway stations/airports available.||Very positive impression overall, even if there were any flaws, I havent noticed them.

Great location, close to metro stations, restaurants and main tourist attractions. Room was clean and had everything we needed. Breakfast was excellent and staff were friendly and helpful.||||As I have now seen mentioned in another review, the hotel is indeed not located exactly on Nevskiy Prospekt but rather on a street just off it. Given that the entrance for the hotel is also quite small, it would be worth asking for more exact instructions for arriving at the hotel to avoid unecessary stress and sweating ;)

First things First: Hotel Polikoff is situated next to Nevsky Prospect, near the Fontanka canal and Subway stations. Location is excellent for a short stay in St|Pete. For the money we paid (over 100€ per night) it was as hardly good enough. The room was quite small but big enough for two persons. Breakfast at the first day was a disaster, cold sausages and hardly anything more, the next day the Breakfast was fortunately much better. The service was bit rude - not the level we expected for the price. To sum it up: hardly recommended.

This hotel has a great location to city center |It is quite tiny but does the purpose and is clean |However this building has renovation , so u wake up from the horrible noises very early in the morning |It is very inconsiderate to the guests |We almost had no sleep coz of the noise the past few days |I would have appreciated before booking to be informed ab this |Smth else I suggest better blackouts and curtains coz they r very poor and do not cover the window at all! We also wake up from the bright light in the room! And as u know sunrise is extremly early in St Petersburg in summer time|There is no Ac as well so I expect it to be very hot in the room during summer time

Had a very comfortable overnight stay here while visiting St Petersburg for the World Cup. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. The room was a good size, well equipped and clean.||Simple help-yourself arrangement at breakfast time, but a good range of cereals, fruit and cooked offerings available.||||Access might be tricky for anyone who struggles with stairs, the hotel reception was a couple of flights up from the building entrance and the rooms up another wooden staircase, but otherwise this is a perfect hotel, great central location just off the busy Nevsky Prospekt

We are currently staying at this “hotel”. The conditions are horrible. I think the pictures speak for themselves. We booked at first a room in hotel Piterskaya, but the smell and accomodation were unbearable. The staff suggested that we could exchange for a “business” hotel, so they sent us to Polikoff. The room is even smaller and they did not inform us that the building is currently under construction. Also had to pay an additional 1.500 RUB. Unacceptable. A rip off.
