We stumbled upon Polliwog Park and absolutely loved it. Such a beautiful park with a peaceful pond and lots of open space to explore. My granddaughter had the best time—she especially loved the ducks and learned how to say “duck” for the first time here! 🦆 The toddler play area is enclosed, which made it feel super safe and relaxed for little ones to run around. You can tell this place is very family-friendly—everyone we met was kind and welcoming. A perfect spot for a sunny afternoon with babies and young kids. We’ll definitely be back!

one of the best chill parks in manhattan beach, hands down. super peaceful vibes with the pond, ducks just living their best life, and plenty of open space to relax or walk around. the amphitheater is a cool touch and actually feels alive when events are happening. great spot for families, casual walks, or just zoning out for a bit. the disc golf course is a fun bonus, and the park is clean and well-maintained. dogs are allowed, which is a huge win. parking is usually manageable too. overall, perfect balance between calm and community energy. yeah twin, this place slaps

It's a very well-maintained and clean park, It's a large and wonderful park. The only inconvenience is that there aren't many restrooms.

It is a very welcoming park for small walks, dogs, and mostly children since there is a school right there. Restrooms are clean enough. However, be careful with the Goose controlled spaces, specially if you are allergic to them. Es un parque que da bienvenida a caminatas cortas, perros, y mayormente niños ya que tiene una escuela ahi mismo. Los baños están suficientemente limpios. Eso si, tenga cuidado con las zonas controladas por los Gansos, en especial si sufre de alergias hacia ellos.

This park was really fun for both parents and kids. There is lots of space to run around and very cool playgrounds. We even got to enjoy some fruit for a snack. The pond made for a nice view for my husband and I while the kids played. The park was clean, and it also had a workout area for those 14 and older.

I've been going to this park since I was a little kid. I've taken Xander a few times over the years, but this is the first time we've been since the playground by the lake has been completely redone. I must say, they did a great job. All of the playground equipment was super nice quality, and every kid there looked like they were having a blast. Xander and his little buddies definitely were! It was pretty fun for daddy as well. They even have a little pirate ship in the new playground. I'd like to think it was a little nod to the giant wooden pirate ship that used to be there when I was younger. Which was very awesome and why Polliwog was always my favorite park as a kid. However, I do understand that the splintery behemoth would be considered a little dangerous by today's standards .

Polliwog Park in Manhattan Beach is a beautiful, family-friendly destination that perfectly combines relaxation and recreation. It’s a beautiful park for children to enjoy playing. It’s also a beautiful spot for picnics and feeding the ducks, turtles, and geese. I totally recommend to feed the animals. Since bread isn’t healthy for ducks, I instead feed them bananas, peas, corn (they love it a lot!!) and lettuce. Totally come here! It’s an amazing place. 💐

Big park, lake and play area. Nice and clean, lots of ducks, geese and it also has botanical garden. Good to do walks and it has some elevation so you can get some good walks in.

The good: This park was beautiful! I loved that the playground structure had the rubber squishy flooring so it was much cleaner than sand or wood chip playgrounds. The rope-climbing structures were unique and cool. The smaller kid area is enclosed in a nice fence so small ones can't run off into the duck pond. The duck pond had tons of sunbathing turtles, ducks and geese. There's a botanic garden walking distance from the park. The wooden structures were sturdy and made of nice quality wood. The swings had a sturdy and wide plastic seat. The playground had areas with shade. There were benches around the park to rest on. My son enjoyed the trash truck that would drive by to get trash at the park. The bad: There's a lot of geese poop by the pond. The interesting: You go downward on a sloped hill to the playground so the area feels nestled. There's a dog park up at the parking lot that's enclosed.

We went to this park for the first time last weekend and what a gem! The playground is fun and everything looked new. There was a kids birthday party that day but even with a bunch of kids it didn't feel super crowded because it was a large space I can see how parking can be tricky. I drove around the block and finally parked in the adjacent school parking lot because it was the weekend and there were no classes. I am sure you are not allowed to park there on weekday school days

Great park to take your kids and have a picnic. Came here on Sunday July 5th to enjoy the live performance of Scot Bruce, the ultimate Elvis impersonator. There were a lot of people sitting in the concrete stands, but enough space for everyone to enjoy the music and be able to dance. This park has been recently updated with a new dog park and also the kids playground was also updated not too long ago.

Beautiful community park with a lovely lake, plenty of open space, and free street parking nearby. The playground is very well equipped, and there's also a solid outdoor workout station for adults. Bathrooms are available and generally convenient. The main downside is the is the goose poop around the lake area -- while the geese add to the scenery, there's quite a bit of goose poop concentrated near the water, so watch your step.

Very cool playground and grassy areas, but knocked off one star because not appropriate for my one year old. The playground was cool, but parts are filled with tire shreds. Not safe for my one year old who is curious and currently likes to put everything in his mouth. We also brought a blanket to picnic, but the grass is covered in goose poop. Again, not great for a curious toddler. Maybe other parts of the park are cleaner, but will keep this in mind for the future.

A big park, but there is a lack of trash cans around the perimeter of the park. So you have to walk a bit to get to one. Because of this, I've found there's more trash on the ground around the outside of the park. Not ideal. Only street parking along Redondo and Manhattan Beach streets, another con.

For such a high end area and beautiful park I'm disgusted at the restroom conditions , they're portable restroom and only 2 which both are over flowing with human fecal matter . As if no one is maintaining them or doing a poor job at it . Does this city not have funds for decent public restrooms ? Something is way off

Nice park for family picnics, playground for kids in a nice neighborhood, less than a mile from the beach.

We love this park! It's clean, peaceful, and perfect for family walks. Plenty of parking, too!

Wow, what a treasure! Love this park as it offers so much variety to so many. Firstly the duck pond with feathered friends which is enhanced by a beautiful backdrop of greenery and walkways. Squirrels abound and are tame enough to hand feed which is always a thrill. Now to the kiddos, the storyboard walk which changes often is an inspired addition. Plus the playground is tempting to adults as well as children and it is lovely to see parents getting a thrill out of it along with their kids. The walkways offer a flat area for scooters and the lawn areas a great place to run off some steam. The small botanical garden run by volunteers is a great place to start looking for ideas for your own native garden. We took photos of native CA plants that attract pollinators to add to my daughter's garden makeover. A beautiful bandstand is included and you often find computer users looking for some peace and quiet from apartment living sitting there, or a kissing couple, or a family sharing a picnic or an ice cream. Arts and culture are represented by the Historical Society, something to look into as it sounds interesting and just across the road is an arts building where you can take classes in pottery or other crafts. At the back car park area is a dog park which is very popular with pooches and you will see a parade of them trotting around the park enjoying the sniffs and smells. This is a lovely local park, enjoyed by many people throughout the year, well kept and a treasure.

We love coming to this park but for over 2 years they have to same problem The sprinklers are broken and create erosion water everywhere you would think they would fix them even the trash truck was stuck and a tow truck had to pull them out

Whenever I bike here, there is always duck and/or goose poop all over the place. This is so disgusting. People can step on them and get all over their shoes.

Beautiful park with pond, birds, botanical garden, different types of play areas and more. Street Parking can be a bit annoying but their newly renovated play area near the pond is awesome. Gated for the younger toddlers so very safe while there are fun group swings and ships that can keep the kids busy! Play area with tire chips is full of activities but could get really cramped so we prefer the area near the pond. On the grass area, we see professional photo shootings every once in a while. Recommend this place for walking or spending a few hours with kids. Love their botanical garden too! Compact but beautiful.

Great music, very clean and well kept. Parking is usually pretty easy! Need an autumn festival!!

One of the best parks in LA County. It's has everything you want: playground for the kids, duck and turtle pond, walking paths, plenty of shade, a public pool and even a small garden. When we went on a Sunday and there was a good amount of people but it didn't feel crowded. We found street parking because there was plenty of it. One kind of strange thing we saw was two teenage girls riding with their giant dog down the kiddie slide. I have never seen a dog of any size ride down a slide but this dog was huge. Both the girls and the dog were too big for the slide.

Polliwog Park is hands down one of our favorite parks in LA. We take the kids here when we're in town or try to meet up with friends and family here when we can. It's a big park with so much for the kids to do. They also have a small closed in fitness center that is cool too. We don't even live in LA and we have hosted two of our kid's birthday parties here with friends & family. Great spot for the kids.

Adorable park to bring my grandchildren too. Love the turtles and all of the amenities this park has to offer.

It is a great park that is full of life, and has multiple playgrounds for the kids. There are also many routes you can take around the park.

We love attending concerts in the park. The people are very friendly and the overall vibe is chill. The entertainment is top notch which makes for a very enjoyable afternoon. We recently saw Matt Mauser and were blown away by his performance. His tribute to Frank Sinatra along with integrated stories of his past shows he's a true professional.

Amazing park with plenty of options for activities. We love the toddler playground and my son's love the wildlife from the lake.

Took my toddler here as I wanted to explore new parks in the South Bay! Great location and clean well kept park! My son enjoyed the playground and watching the ducks and turtles. Lots of kids playing and lots of grass for my toddler to run around. I would definitely recommend this to place and definitely will come back again.

Almost perfect except all the goose poop land mines all over the sidewalk and grass ... but it's their home

I've driven past this park a couple of times and finally decided to visit. Large play structure with a zip line, 2 sets of swings for younger and older kids. Soft rubber flooring. A quick walk gets you to a little pond with ducks and turtles. There's also a gazebo. And lots of grassy areas for a picnic. There's also a grassy slope which is perfect for rolling down the hill! There are restrooms. Street parking.

Nice mix of all things needed in a park, and even something's you dont(like free wifi?). There is a dog park, a small nature center, a few gazebos with picnic tables. The amphitheatre(outside multi level seating) is a great place to have a picnic and go people watching. The pond attracts a lot of different ducks and seagulls as well as I some geese I saw today.

My boyfriend introduced me to Polliwog Park, located in Manhattan Beach, CA. There is plenty of free street parking and the park is decently sized with a lot of open grassy areas. We always go to Polliwog Park with the intention of reading and relaxing but by boyfriend always winds up feeding and playing with the ducks and I get distracted trying to keep an eye on him, LOL just kidding - sort of! In between reading my book and dozing off, I really enjoy watching all of the families and the kids which almost always brings a smile to my face. The park is pretty clean and well maintained. I haven't used the public restrooms, yet, but I know there are some which is always reassuring. I love the little lake, filled with ducks, fish, and even turtles! There is also a dog park nearby, plenty of shelters with picnic tables, and even a community pool. While I wish more parks like Polliwog existed in Los Angeles, I'm glad we have this one at least! Check it out for yourself!

Very nice ambiance and beautiful art work, it is clean very safe investment. When you love to walk Don forget to visit the Botanical garden you will be amazed.

Polliwog Park offers nature, wildlife, and some green space in a busy city. Parking is mostly along the street, but a small parking lot is also located close to the swimming pool. The best part of the park is the botanical gardens (close to the swimming pool). The garden is full of beautiful poppies and yellow daisies. Many of the plants here are meant to attract butterflies and certain species of birds. The garden itself is TINY, but it is refreshing to see a beautiful garden full of native plants and flowers. The playground and lake are peaceful and inviting from the distance, but once you get closer to the lake, the amount of bird feces can be quite revolting. The Canadian geese and mallard ducks are adorable, though they produce a lot of waste and it is rather off putting in such a small space.

I will give 5 stars , but the reason I gave 4 is because to many poop , you can't go picnic because is to much poop everywhere!!! so the park is so nice to get and play with kids on by the little lake , but is too much poop to many ducks and geese , is too many the city has to clean that whole park , no body can seat there or have kids running, I don't know if is the idea , not have kids or families doing a picnic? Or the par is for the ducks and geese ? Well for that reason I can't give 5 the park is really nice and is having a new section for kids is fenomenal! But they need to do something with those little and cute birds , because they are cute but I don't think is Healy the whole situation there

i enjoy the free concerts here at the park starts in july and ends in september bring your bottle of wine and food plenty room for everyone.

Heads up this park is closed due to Covid. Not only is it closed but it has not been maintained in months since the closure so the equipment is permanently damaged. There are holes in the playground floor and rust stains all over. I felt bad giving the park a 1 star, which it is now, because under normal times this park couldn't be any better. Also fortunately for this park there is more to it than just the playgrounds. There are nice walking paths, lots of spacious grassy areas for playing and picnicking, and a lake with plenty of wildlife to see. Hopefully when MB decides to join the rest of California and open it's playgrounds the city will be able to salvage what is left of the playground ruins. So, if you are looking for a park and not for a playground, right now, this is the spot for you! Hoping to edit and change this review very soon once the playgrounds are reopened. Stay safe out there!

5 stars allllll the way!! They now added a fitness station for adults with machines right next to the slides and playground for the kids. When I was a kid, my parents would celebrate My sister's and my birthdays here at the park almost every single year.. Twice a year until we were like 19 yrs old or so.. :P This park is HUGE, CLEAN, and BEAUTIFUL! In the summer time, free live band music plays here every Sunday. Still is going on. Was just here last Sunday. It has a few playgrounds, a nice pond with ducks and swans, gazebos.. It's for children, adults, and elders. Perfect place to put everyone in and have a great BBQ or picnic! I AM super lucky to live 2 minutes from here.

Updating my review from four years ago! Now that I have I son we love coming to this park. I even rented out the gazebo by the pond for his first birthday. There a slightly higher fee if you're not a Manhattan Beach resident but I was ok with paying for it. I had no problems making the reservation also, non-residents can reserve 3 months in advance. I believe it was a 3 hour window for the party and we were done cleaning up by then and none of the park staff came by to kick us out. There was a party after our window too, so it was nice that we didn't feel rushed to get out of there. The playground right beside the gazebo could use a little work though. The flooring is coming apart and my son has tripped a couple times in there. The play equipment is a little on the old side too. However, the other playground for older kids has been replaced maybe a couple years ago. So my review is strictly for the "younger kids" playground.

Beautiful park with a nice lake and lots of trees for shade. We were able to find parking on a Sunday in the parking lot off of N. Peck Ave. The park was not that busy and easy to keep social distance. The park is also clean and the bathrooms are well kept. The only not-so-great thing is that botanical garden. Everything was pretty much dried up there, not sure who was suppose to maintain it. The park itself was fantastic!

Took my children today and I have to say this park is Amazingly beautiful! So many things for them to do. There is a nice pond with all the pretty birds in and around it. So peaceful and calm, loved it. My favorite was the ship area, so cool.

great park, good scene and nice and clean. Also ...for the record... in the "late 80's" I had my first beer with my friends under the ship...and 35 years later, I still stop at Polliwog every time Im near.

I always enjoy parks with ponds or small lakes because they attract wildlife. The only drawback is the bird poop that is difficult to avoid stepping on because it's everywhere. The garden area is a plus and there's plenty of public parking along the main street.

My favorite aspect of this park are the yellow and black colored butterflies fluttering near the trees. Even though this park is located right off the street, it's still pretty quiet. It is spacious, with many large trees, a large playground, and a workout area with stationary exercise equipment. Be careful, ants fall from the trees and land on you. I met the local squirrel, who thought I had food. He left, once he/she realized I didn't have any. At least it didn't decided not to attack when it was ignored. It's definitely a great place to come with the entire family, including the dog, for a relaxing day at the park. There are plenty of benches and barbecues, along with strategically placed trash bins. It appears as though the city takes care of the park.

Big park. Plenty of space. Not terrible dog friendly. I mean there's tons of people and their dogs but there are also signs saying dogs are not allowed in the park. Dogs and parks go together like PB and J. Dogs...like parks. Parks were made to be big open spaces with trees so you can have fun with your dog. Polliwog even has a huge water spout and pond that attracts ducks and geese. My dog likes to converse with the water fowl and act like she's bossing them around. But alas if you take your dog to the pond area you 1) will get asked to leave because dogs aren't allowed, and 2) aren't allowed to even feed the geese or birds because god forbid that attract other geese to Manhattan Beach. Birds from any other hood aren't allowed. Okay. Otherwise this place is great for kids. Great for picnics. We've been to summer concerts and health fairs. It's a nice open space. Just not for your dog or to feed birds. Hmmmm.

I have always been stunned with how well Manhattan Beach maintains this city and this park is a prime example of that. The grass is always freshly cut. The work out area is always clean & trash gets changed out very often. The only downfall is that the pond is filled with turtles and ducks so sometimes it's kinda stinky but otherwise BEAUTIFUL. The best part is that this park is huge. There are many varieties of different types of trees planted here & With a huge pond in the middle of the park and endless benches and gazebos to sit at you and your family are bound to have a wonderful afternoon here. There are multiple playgrounds for the kids to play at and large fields to play soccer and or have a picnic at. At the east end of the park they have a baseball field and a pool too!! SO MUCH ROOM FOR ACTIVITIES....m so bring your family and check it out.

This is a great unique park for kids of all ages, as it has an outdoor gym area for people 14 yrs and older to work out at, as well as the typical children's jungle gym play area. There's picnic areas with built in BBQ grills too. I saw there's a water lake area, but didn't investigate the details as to what it's used for and how it's accessed. Overall it's a nice place to visit.

Absolutely gorgeous. Beautiful and peaceful botanic garden with native flowers + edible plants (like grapes) and lots of wildlife like bees and butterflies. Big pond with cute turtles and birds. Watch out for bird poop all over the concrete. Spacious, green, and easy to navigate. People had their dogs on leashes and everyone kept their distance. There were enough people around to make the place feel cheerful, but not crowded enough to make it hard to distance. Also quite diverse in terms of people: young, old, families, teens, Black, Asian, White, and Latinx. Pretty clean except for some trash in the water and the aforementioned bird waste. Excited to come back again! Note: Decent amount of street parking, though it was full when we came. Might be more crowded as it gets warmer out, but should be easy enough to find free parking in a residential neighborhood.

This was one beautiful park. Celebrated my grands birthday party. Great playground and cookout areas. Bathrooms were surprising clean. We were lucky enough to have the area with the overhead canopy. The park was big and also had a pond with cute babies. The kids were excited by how close they could get to the babies. Not sure if there was a parking lot on the other side of the pond. Our party goers had to park on the street One crucial fact -- get there early to reserve your spot.

I only came to this park for kids and concerts. Polliwog park is beautiful, serene, with lovely water views, expansive and accessible. I decided that grounding on solid earth under a large tree would help cope with the strangulation of efforts to contain the pandemic. What a delight to leave the stress of fighting for position in line, etc. to the calm, inviting bucolic nature spot right here in Manhattan Beach! High recommend to feel safe in public, enjoy the sounds of children's laughter and that life will return to normal in the near term. Tension melts after a mere 30 minutes of laying on a stretch of grass and you are ready to face the insanity one more day. Go and Enjoy, it is FREE!

Nice, decent sized park, with plenty of grass, tree-shaded areas, and gazebos with tables. The little botanical garden, and the little lake area, very nice. I didn't see a parking lot on the main street on manhattan beach side, but was able to find street parking.

Nice park with plenty of room, playgrounds, exercise area and a man made lake with red eared slider turtles, ducks and fish. Very nice on the weekends or taking your dog for a walk along the trails. Safe playground equipment with lots of features and they also have a fenced in toddler playground. Spring and summer time concerts add to the fun. Spaces can be reserved for birthday parties and barbecues. Plenty of street parking. Busier on the weekend. ***The toddler area is right next to the lake so you have to be extra careful with the little ones around.
